Hi I'm new to the forum and could really do with a little help. I have been diagnosed with UC for 15 years.
I had an abscess drained at Christmas, this has now developed into a fistula.
I was told I would need a seton stitch as it was high and through both muscles. I made it quite clear I wanted no cutting of my sphincter. Can someone please explain what each look like as I am beginning to think the one I have is a cutting one? I am worried sick as I also have one between my bladder and bowel and will feel I can't trust them if they have placed a cutting one against my wishes?!
They are also talking Me possible having Crohns rather than UC?

Hello Lynn
Welcome to the forum.
You can find lots of information and also make new friends on the forum
I am not able to answer your question about the setons that has to be between you and your doctors.
There are members on the forum who have setons and hopefully they will see your concerns and give you their experiences.
Also at the top of this page there are headings and among them you will see Support Groups and Resources which could contain some helpful information for you.
Since the website is worldwide there are different time zones so when you go to bed some of us still with afternoon and evening hours .
Please keep in touch with us and let us know how things go for you
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes
Trysha
