Ugh. I was starting to feel run down towards the end of the week but felt a little better saturday. I ate quite a bit as I hadn't eaten much in the past few days and started having trouble with constipation so I took some laxatives and my bowel decided to rage war with me. I think I ended up in the bathroom 10-15 times argh. I'm finally able to keep food/liquids in me now and the pain is lessoning. I tell ya sometimes these bouts seem wear me out worse the just being tired like usual.

Sorry to hear that. But next time try to avoid laxatives as they are too harsh for our bowels. I drink rosehip tea and it seems to help constipation.

Yeah, on the rare occasions I've had to resort to them, laxatives (even mild ones) always seem to result in overkill (as in if this isnt' over soon, think i'll kill myself).. THAT taught me to avoid BIG meals... small ones instead just in case AND to follow the simple rule 'Nothing out, nothing in'.. And when things 'slow' down = switch over to liquid or soft diet only. I don't like these rules, but learned the (pardon the phrase) 'HARD' way that they are my new 'reality'.

Oh, (and again pardon the phrase/thought) just keep in mind the adage. "This too will pass"

I do not generally have a constipation problem. When I eat meals, I usually have some kind of fruit with the meal. I really do not like fruit, but I will either drink cherry pomogranite juice or eat dried fruit or eat some cherries when in season just for the nutrition. I would think a small amount of fruit with meals would likely prevent constipation.

The dried fruit seems to digest easier than eating the regular kind. The reason I eat cherry products is they have antiinflammatory properties.

I had major constipation problems until recently.

I was supposed to start having 'Meal replacement therapy' but was told it wasn't really helpful, so now I'm on a low-residue diet, monitored by a dietician. I also have to drink a glass of soluble fibre.

The difference is amazing.

The cycles of a week of 'normal' functioning and a week with a painful blockage was not fun.
