What is the difference between a Colonoscopy & Flexible Sigmoidoscopy?

A colonoscopy can look a lot further than a sigmoidoscopy. I was awake for the sigmoidoscopy and sedated for the colonoscopy.

Bld, Thanks. I'm going to be calling my GI doc on Monday to ask for a colonoscopy and just wanted to make sure I was asking for the right thing. In light of what he found on the Endoscopy this past Friday, I wish he had scheduled me for both an endoscopy and colonoscopy the same day. Oh well, hind site is 20/20. LOL!
