Hey just wanted to start a new thread about the weather in your area because there has been significant changes throughout the world. I love to learn about the weather temps in different parts of the world.

It is winter time now  since the middle of January now is cold it has not being near the temperatures for the Northwest of Ontario. Today is -14c but feels like -26c...still far below the colder temps!

Show us your weather!:ycool:

I live in Dallas county. Tx and it is now 9:43 am and 44f. Yesterday at this time is was 69f. You just never know what to expect in Texas!

Its a lovely sunny blue sky here in the south west of England. But it feels cold. According to my laptop its 6c, so not anywhere near as cold as you Pen! But it feels cold for us because we have been having a warm winter. I have to say I don't mind winters like this! I don't like snow!

yeh 2degC in grimsby. Cold enough to have the heating on and maybe a coat if your out walking but so far we've had a nice warm winter :) (although wouldnt mind seeing some snow again)

It should be a high of 65F and rainy here today in Northwest Georgia. It's been a lovely warm winter so far.

It has been clear skies, a thick frost, with the temperature hovering around 0 c (so the frost hasn't cleared except a few patches where the sun was on it).

Rygon- 'maybe' a coat? I have been outside with the kids at work, winter coat, fleecy hat and gloves and I was still perished after half an hour! Maybe I need ski pants and thermal underwear too?

jog on the spot and you'll be fine :p

lovely day here in n.e uk.sunny and frost all day,but perfect for a walk with the dog and my long suffering hubby. And NO wind.I HATE wind. And we've had too much of it lately !!!!Hope you are all having a BETTER day.

Pretty mild here for Minnesota in January. It is 10 degrees out, which is -12c, but with the wind chill, it is -4f, which would be -20c. We had some light snow showers overnight, but it is sunny out now.

We have yet to go below 0 fahrenheit this winter, which is unusual for so late in January.

Last week on Monday, it his 50 degrees outside, which was so nice!

Here in WI it's been up and down. For example, last week Wednesday was beautiful - 55 degrees fahrenheit, lovely and sunny. It felt like springtime! Then the next day, Thursday, it was about 25 degrees and snowed 6 inches with 30 mph winds. Yuck! Yesterday it was lovely, sunny, nice and warm (45 degrees) again - and today it's again very cold, windy and snowy. It was sleeting nasty little ice pellets this morning and my car was frozen solid! Yuck!! I can't wait for spring.

Yes, winter has finally hit Northrrn Alberta! We have had such a mild winter so far (-5 to -15C for the most part), but yesterday was -37C and this morning we woke up to a balmy -43C.

I know I saw that!!! windchills to -47C!!

We are dipping below -30cwindchills and that is near normal for this time. It has been way to warm up here and everyone is told to stay off any water areas.
We have about a foot of snow. Came back from a walk and I was over dressed (-26c) but or the hot flashes are kicking in from the Pred... Very sunny today, first time the sun has been out in ages!!!

Lamest winter ever in central Ontario. Right now we're getting hammered with freezing rain on one of those 'why did I even get out of bed?' dreary days.

Yeah I remember living in the GTA of Toronto years ago, the dampness went right through you!! Now I am in -20-to-30c and the air is so dry my arthritis is almost non existant. Yeah yeah I know it is only a myth the dampness causes havoc. Been told that many a times ;)

I spent Christmas up in the Soo, and I'll take that over this nonsense we are having in Simcoe County any day!!

Today was a confortable -3C(26F) in Quebec. Snow has just begun falling and we have a storm warning for tonight. Should wake up with about 20 cm of snow tomorrow. Shoveling time! I wish it was summer 11 months a year...

Currently everyone in Seattle is freaking out. It's supposed to snow tonight 6-14". When you combine our lack of experience with it, our local gov's lack of preparedness for it, the massive hills everywhere, and the fact that we don't stay cold enough during the day so that it melts and then becomes black ice at night, you understand why this is a disaster!

It's 00:40 here in Wales and the temperature is 4c .... but its raining...I HATE rain... I much prefer the snow... wish I lived in a country that had 4 proper seasons, especially snow in winter .. maybe I will emigrate to Canada one day... :D

Wow, that's usually our weather, we just have a dusting of snow on the ground here.

Now, 6-14", that is a respectable amount of snow

Today was cloudy and 1 deg. C (33 F), snow and rain tonight going up to 7 deg C (45F) tomorrow and rain

It was 40 degrees this morning at 6, it's usually about 10 to 20 degrees this time of year. It was pouring rain until 8am. Then around 5 the temp dropped to 32 and it started snowing.... it's been a very weird winter so far. But, I sure like getting hardly any snow.... :)

A weird winter here too - only one big storm so far and that was in November. It's generally been warmer that normal as well

Hey that is why I love Canada, 4 seasons but I used til live in between Sudbury and the Sault and had more snow for snowmachining...now too cold to snow up here, sucks. Now we use the ATV's all year round and mine has a plow...am I spoiled ..yep

Right now it's snowing here:) Even better if it freezes that we're not working tomorrow because it's our days off! But, even though it's really pretty it sounds like our snow will most likely melt before my husband and I get to play in it:(

I want snow!

According to my computer it's 10c and rainy. I can' be bothered to leave my sofa yet though so cannot confirm this :)

Ha, come over here if you want snow...once it is here it dont melt til late spring. I woke up to a flock of birds up on the trees waiting to be fed!!!! It is cold now, -17c without windchill and then going down to -38c!! Almost the same as Farhenheit. The winter keeps me busy, snow plowing, wood for the fire, dogs to run, feed the birds... and walking around the property for fresh air and no bears around!

We have 3 chickens in our backyard that woke us up this morning because of the snow. 2 of them have only seen snow once or twice while the 3rd one's never seen snow. They were all acting like the sky was falling:) Finally got one of them to come eat some seeds. However, I'm afraid it'll take the other two a bit longer!

chickens

:uk_flag:eek:h,how lucky are you? no,not the snow,CHICKENS.I love chickens.have they got names?unfortunately circumstances wont allow us to have them(retirement flat/apartment)but I have a couple of ornaments and pictures in the kitchen.you're not gonna eat them are you?:eek2:

Funny I know quite a few people who have chickens.. but I cant kill what I raise and eggs give me horrendous gas. My dogs and cats and wild birds is enough to keep me going.

Speaking of dogs does anyone have the mystery solved of how a male dog 40 lbs can pee like 20 times 3 times a day walking the trails???

Ha ha, YES you are right!!! Funny my female pees like once and stays by my side through the whole time the male...a hunter for everything! My husband calls me the man slammer .

This morning was so beautiful! If I hadn't been working the whole night, I would of have stayed outside for hours and just enjoy the beauty!

wintry here today, cold, snowfall am but not much.Currently the sun is shining but very cold at -6.

Today's weather

Sunrise @ 09.05
Sunset @ 15.57
The lenght of the day: 6 h 51 min

Well, I have to say last years winter was prettier. Lots and lots of snow and the trees were white all over, frostier. But I don't complain!

Well, I'm in southern Finland. For example in Utsjoki the numbers are:

Sunrise @ 11.39
Sunset @ 13.11
The length of the day: 1 h 31 min

Beautiful day here in south Texas, USA. In Houston I am enjoying 55 F, about 13C with sunny skies and a very slight breeze. Wonderful!

Hey Michele thanks! Always nice to know someone out there is enjoying the weather. To me that is perfect. Do you get humidity??

Yeah, my husband has made sure to name our chickens. We used to have 4 but the fourth one died and her name was adventure. She was always our first one to try something new, our friendliest one and the leader. So, at one time we had two reds, a black and a white. Now we've got a red, white and black one. The red one's name is mamma, black's name is black and the white is queenie. No, we're not gonna eat them but we have a friend from my husband's work who will. When we retire these, we'll be getting babies.

Yeah, there's quite a few people around here that have chickens. Most have dogs and cats so the chicken thing is a little new around here. Wish you could tolerate eggs. These that we get seem to do the best with me. Kinda funny, we mention that we're gonna be away for a bit and we have all kinds of volunteers willing to watch our brats. Biggest thing for them is keeping the eggs! Got one neighbor next to us that they just love and they'll come to her when she talks to them. However, we figure the chickens are getting fed probably from all sides of the fence.

WE live in the country and so many sell eggs so if we want we can get them, my husband loves them but he only eats them at work. I love egg salad sandwiches, but not worth the price to pay even with digestive enzymes :(.

Suvii, that's maaaagical!

Also: -32 right now with wind chill. Will feel like -40 overnight. I have not left the house today.

I rode my bike last week! *tears*

7 degrees C here this morning when I went into work -7 C here now and going down to -14 C overnight with a wind chill of -23

Yeah I saw out west is fridgid!! We are going down to -34c but not surprising, it is the middle of Jan.:eek2:

-39 C this morning, with a wind chill of -50 C. We have had a balmy winter up until now. I agree Pen, it is mid January, we can count ourselves lucky. This is only suppose to last until early next week and then we are back up to highs of -2.

Well good morning!

My sister lives in Canada (has been living since 1991 after meeting his husband) and she told the about the cold weathers in there. Brrrr. Glad we haven't had those kind of degrees in Helsinki yet. The sea is 5 minutes of walking from where we live, so the wind always makes the weather feel much colder.

Hey a new picture is that you riversilt? You are adorable!

Ok it is -40c!!! Have to wait for a balmy -28 this afternoon for a walk. Dogs hate it when it is too cold!

Suvii, that is so pretty!

Winter finally got here today. It is -11f (-32c) out right now, but the wind chill is -32f (-35c). We call this snot freezing cold!

LoL Linda! My eyelashes froze just to get the paper about 50ft away. But my hot flashes kept me warm, and being on Pred ;)

The high temp here was 5 F (-15 C). And that's not counting the wind chilld which was something like -18 F (-27 C). Brrr! And that's as WARM as it got here today - going to be a cold one tonight! Also they're predicting up to 8 inches of snow here tomorrow. Yuck!

Of course my dog loves it. She's a corgi so when we get a lot of snow, she has to make herself little paths or even tunnels through the snow (she has VERY short legs!).

Great... it better not be like that in Vancouver next Sept we are coming there for business and fun... please make it be nice

No promises...but we'll put a special request in for you:) Jokes aside, you should visit the Columbia River Gorge while you're here. It's beautiful that time of year!

Reached a high of -9 deg C today with a windchill of -18. Warmer with snow forecast for tomorrow

Trysha what state are you in? Kinda helps

@ Hawkeye, thank God it is going to get warmer...getting cabin fever. And the dogs dont like the bitter cold either ;)

A very blah weather. The snow is really wet and it's whirling horizontally.

Beautiful cool summer's day here in southern Victoria - 21C. That's the way I like it, 20-25ish - but we are heading for higher temperatures, increasing to 32C on Tuesday.

The one fear of living in the country is no water.... everything is frozen!!! Thank God I have a water cooler with hot and cold water and a reverse osmosis tap! Yes I am having coffee... but the toilet aint running... nightmare for a crohnie!!! It is -31!!! or colder. :yfaint:...and of course the hubby is not home til tomorrow night! :(

It's been snowing here all day and it supposedly won't stop until tonight. It's very pretty but I dread driving in it!

My dog is sooo happy though, ha ha. She runs through the snow while eating big mouthfuls of it. She's a little weird. :p

Okay, Saturday morning here and it's about 12C, expecting 25C today but it would seem the long white cloud has left sheep boy's stomping ground and settled over eastern Oz instead...bloody Kiwis! :ylol:

Dusty...

LoL @ Dusty..thanks for the smile, I needed it...had a stressful day! Got up to the toilet not working because it was running all night and froze (-40c) and he pump didnt shut off and now no water in the well. Of course my husband isnt home. Murphy's law :(. I need a shower and I have to pick up the hubby at the airport. He says the water should replenish itself. If it dont, he is gonna have to wear a nose plug.

It is going down cold again tonight but then gets warmer but then it snows and my plow isnt working either.. I had my 3 now, NO MORE STRESS.

Ok it is over...

Hi Pen,
That is so stressful for you.Hope you are able to get the water up and running soon'else you will have to have a Finnish icebath with twigs and all!!
Cheers
Trysha

LOL Trysha. Thank God I finished my laundry yesterday and dishwasher. Since I cant lift off the top of the well (over 80 lbs) I may just wash my hair and sponge bath, too scared to have a shower. I am hoping tomorrow is a better day. Oh well can only clean the bathroom so much!! After all the work I need a shower :stinks:

Oh man, it's cold here and we have gale force winds.....again! Waugh! I wanna emigrate to Australia.
But -31? I can't even imagine that.

Good thing Trev... It is -30 and that is real temp. Have my water back and the heat is running better, and get to have a shower!!!! I love the country but it does have it's downfalls. ;)

It is 1F here right now (-17c) but last night it was so cold the snow squeaked when you stepped on it. I absolutely hate that sound!

Sunday morning and right now it's 12C, heading for 23C. It's :sun: at present but expecting
Lightning.gif

Sunday morning here also - 21C and expecting 28C, sunny with strengthening northerly winds (which are hot here).

LoL dusty where on earth do you get those emoticons?? Please share!

-20c now and snowing .... and having hot flashes, prob from the pred. +27c would kill me now

Had severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings here today. My neighbor had an 80 foot tree fall down across his driveway. It hit so hard that part of the tree was buried in the ground and he couldn't even dig it out. Thankfully my tall pine trees weathered another round of severe weather. Just a few branches down.

-18 with a windchill of -25 - at least the sun is out. The forecast for Tuesday is +7 and rain - crazy weather for sure

Good thing you are ok!!! High winds scare me. :eek2:

Today is a sunny and gorgeous day, went for a walk around the property. This morning there was hoar frost and it was glittery. I it is -3c which is so weird. I agree with ya Hawkeye the weather is very unpredictable and alot warmer than normal.

We did get about 1ft of snow so I have been busy plowing and I love doing it .
