Much the same here as the last few days...5c and calm.They're saying temps are to drop soon,but we'll see....I forgot to mention that temp reached 17c in a part of Scotland one day last week.That's a lovely summers day up there usually.
 
The navy is evacuating Mallacoota today by navy ship. Another man has been found deceased in Victoria with 17 people now listed as missing. An elderly lady died in Canberra after leaving a plane and falling victim to some of the worst air quality recorded in Australia. Many evacuees from southern NSW spent an uncomfortable evening sleeping beside the road ,on the ground and in their cars as the main evacuation route ,the Pacific highway was once more cut by fire yesterday afternoon. Catastrophic conditions are predicted to return this afternoon and tomorrow with very strong NW to SW winds and temps in the mid 40cs . Fires flared in WA and Tas yesterday and SA is expected to cop it today. I truly wish I could report some good news , I too am getting sick of nothing but disaster for the last three months. Ron.
 
While we sit in comparative safety here, this is far from the case in the south. In southern coastal NSW much of the onus of blame can be placed on the selfish tourists that failed to heed warnings that extreme fire events were forecast. Once they had arrived ,their presence seriously impacted on the ability to get fire services and supplies to remote coastal communities.. Many tourists who were short on vehicle fuel found themselves trapped!

South Australia and parts of NE Victoria face 40*lus temperatures over the next few days which does not bode well in terms of even more destruction. 28 people either dead (2, or unaccounted for thus far. Fires are still flaring in the west of the continent too.

One can only hope that State and Federal government will learn from this,unparalleled disaster that National Parks and forested lands in general need to be maintained, especially in the winter months by controlled burning. Pandering to the elements on the extreme environmental movement has a place to play in this unfolding horrendous outcome.

Things are tough in NSW . The temp at Penrith in western Sydney has hit a new high 0f 47.3c. Things are also bad in SA where two people tried to outrun the flames of an out of control fire on kangaroo island. Unfortunately they did not make it. Today the prime minister has thrown 3000 ADF reserves into the fight and leased another four water bombing aircraft. Nearly all of the fires in Vic , SA and NSW have flared with the heat and high winds. 75 Qld firefighters have headed south to help despite fires still burning in Qld. Leading wildlife experts working from known wildlife densities in the areas burned have conservatively estimated that at least 480 million animals have died.. Fires are still burning in Tasmania, mainland SA and WA. To cap things off forecasters are worried about a cyclone forming off the Kimberly coast. Ron.
 
We've had a lovely sunny day too here in the Midlands. Still have roses blooming at the moment.

I was horrified and completely devastated by the wildlife lost. It really is enough to believe that our planets days are numbered. Can't believe those holiday makers decided to stay put. How stupid. and to think that Summer is just starting. It doesn't bear thinking about. Stay safe Ron.
 
It almost appears that we are at the end times when watching the TV news in the waiting room at the hospital; the fires, the violence and misery going on all over the planet. 2020 is coming in rough and uncertain. The doctor gave me good news, and I am going off of the anti inflammatory enemas as the doctor feels that this might be causing problems due to frequent use and monitor how things go for the time being. I have a major stricture in the rectal area making it difficult to insert the scope. To make it easier I inserted the scope myself as I know where to turn to get it in, then the doc took over. I feel greatly relieved that things look okay for the time being.
 
I am glad that things are not as serious as they first thought Buff. We are on some high powered meds and they eventually have some high powered side effects. I hope you are back in balance very soon. Ron.
There is a realization sweeping across our country that our current situation has no precedent . There is no one who has any experience of what is happening. We are very fortunate that we have state volunteer fire fighting associations in every state and that they and the professional fire services are under expert control. We have been in the current state of large and volatile infernos since September 2019. Those in charge realized early that given the severe drought , high temps , high winds and remote and inaccessible locations, that it would be impossible to impact any of these fires. They are creating their own weather systems, generating dry lightning storms and erratic gales and fire tornadoes. They have focused on saving life and property only if possible. Heavy rains are our only real chance to put the fires out In a land under a severe and prolonged drought.
We are now facing a huge civilian crisis with many families without homes , with large numbers of farms and properties totally destroyed with no stock , all destroyed, with no pastures to support any . many of the food bowl areas have been destroyed. Already we are facing shortages. There is no short term fix. What we are facing will last for years, even decades. The rest of the world needs to take notice of the clear and dreadful results of climate change and the results of human impact on our world. Ron.
 
We were watching Outback Truckers yesterday (an earlier edition) and some of the guys were held back because of flooded road due to storms ,and my first thought was "If only you knew". Another pleasant day here, calm and 8c.
 
The sun is looking to come out at the moment. Not too cold again. Gonna take those Xmas decs down and the tree and that will be that until next year, God permitting.

the news here suggests these fires will burn for the next two months. I can't believe that's even possible. what will the results be by then? It sadly, seems an impossible situation. Stay safe, Ron.

One more death in NSW and another 3-400 homes lost. Things are a little cooler down south today but they expect temps to ramp up by the end of next week. Some rain fell over the fire area today but most of it evaporated before it hit the ground. It is heartbreaking to watch film of Kangaroo island where the entire national park went up . Carers have moved in to try to save some of the koalas and other native wildlife . The best they can offer many of the animals is euthanasia . Nature struck back over in Esperance today when a diver was taken in front of his female companion by a great white. Scientists said that there had been a great deal of activity from tagged great whites in the area. Pity they didn't put out an advice to divers. Humidity was at 72% for most of today with temps on 30c. Several of the shires around the SE qld scenic rim were put on water restrictions today . Yes Carol if only we knew that was the last serious water we would see for a long time. Ron.
 
I am concerned about how these fire conditions could easily spread to other parts of the world with what we are doing to our environment. Forest management here is producing the perfect firestorm conditions for the future as old forests are destroyed by the forest industry to make way for these tree plantations where trees are growing with more open space around them allowing more sunshine and drying of the forest floor. This process is creating tinder dry conditions for thousands of hectares of low flashpoint highly combustible conifer trees in what were once mixed forests that held back moisture keeping the forest floor cool and dark, less prone to burn. They need to look at more than just fossil fuels as the problem, and start looking at everything we are doing to our environment. Without becoming political; governments here focus on making climate change profitable with taxes instead of the hard work required to implement plans to deal with the problems. It doesn't take money, it takes doing and cooperation, neither of which is happening.
Today its -5C with light snow.
 
Much cooler in this part of the country and hopefully improving down south. What has emerged from this tragedy is the apparent lack of leadership from the top echelons of Federal government. The previous Governor General , General Sir Peter Cosgrove took charge of the devastating Brisbane floods some years ago. with remarkable effect. He was also on deck for the N Q cyclone event during his tenure as Chief of the Armed Forces.

In contrast, no such person nominated to deal with the current situation.

Matters were not assisted by our PM buggering off to Hawaii at the beginning of the fires, nor the NSW Minister to Emergencies decamping to Europe for a holiday! Admittedly both did return eventually, but by then the damage was done. literally and certainly politically.
 
Groundhog day here . Temp range consistently 21c-30c and humidity around 60-70%. I'm finding it hard to sleep at night. I'm struggling a bit with not working. I have this constant feeling of guilt and that there is something I am supposed to be doing. Ah well all things will pass. Ron.
 
I wore my thermals and winter woolly to Daventry and the dentist today. Can't say it's cold at all. My bulbs are making headway and where sweet pea pods have scattered seeds they are now growing. I should probably put them in pots and bring them in to thrive. It's bound to turn cold soon. I was a little selfish this Xmas, i bought a tree with roots as they were reduced in price at good old Tesco. I've just given it some miracle grow in the hope that when i plant it out it will survive. However, next Xmas is nigh on 12 months away. I've planted my tree for Britain, so there. It's not English, I'm sure, but the gesture is there. Maybe the next people here will like it and decorate it for school kids who pass by my place.

Ron, you must feel weird with no work to do. Sounds like you slogged your guts out working. Take it easy and let the mind, body and spirit relax off and go down in pace. Part of life has to be good, surely. I'm so pleased it's slightly cooler in Aus at the moment. I truly understand Mervs post though. Politicians are just narcissists, i swear. I don't like any of them with their 'look at me and the power i have'. I refused to vote this time.

Carol, is it too warm up there for you, lol? Hope you and hubby are doing ok.
 
I was out at the cabin and found heavy deep slush on the lake, no good for skiing or snowmobiling. I removed the snow load from the roof, very exhausting if I may say. More snow today will make the lakes more treacherous until we get into the deep freeze when it can firm up. -8, snowing, its an indoor day and I will bottle the wine and start another batch.
 
I really enjoyed brewing but I haven't done any for ages. My last lot was ginger beer. I am afraid I cannot even take the smallest amount of alcohol. It nearly kills me so I just don't go there. We have severe heat and gusty winds coming thru the bushfire areas again. There is just no rest for the firefighters. Ron.
 
Three fires burning in the snowy mountains area have merged into one huge fire and are being fanned by winds up to 90 kliks. Temps in the 40's for a lot of the bushfire area. On the other hand we in SE Qld might get some storms in the next couple of days and a little bit of rain. Ron.
 
I have heard about the bush fires merging on the news today. It still isn't looking good for you. Keep safe.

Lovely and sunny out today though we had huge downpours through the night, but at least it's stopped. Am going to plant that small Xmas tree today.
 
I bottled wine yesterday, but didn't get around to start the new batch. One can save a lot of money doing this. Back before my colostomy surgery I enjoyed beer and used to brew my own. I got pretty good at it and my friends and neighbors were the judge and would often stop by for a brew. I have good well water and a lot of patience. I added malt and hops to the mixture to fine tune the flavors, and then let the beer age for a few months. Since the surgery I cannot tollerate beer very well, so I got away from beer, but still do the red wine.
 
Red wine is supposedly good for you. gives me a nasty headache admittedly, but enjoy it if you can. That's what i say. You must have been popular with the local community. Nice you can enjoy something though, Buff.

Sun trying to come through. We had heavy rain yesterday, and it's very windy here today. However, it's still very mild. I have seen Swedish and Alaskan videos recently that reveal there is little snow where there normally would very definitely be snow in those areas. ah, the world is changing. Not a thing can we do about it though.
 
13c and v.windy.Some branches down in the park when we went to feed the birds.The ducks were quacking and squabbling like crazy so I'm wondering if the mild weather is encouraging an early breeding season....Daffodil shoots are 2-3 inches in sheltered areas.
 
Fires still burning , another Victorian fire fighter died today in a firefighting accident.(falling tree) We had a storm tonight but it was all flash and noise and very little rain. They have forecast some rain tomorrow. A second cyclone in a week has formed off the WA coast , this time off the Kimberlies.Ron.
 
The forecasters suggested we would get up to 30mm today , unfortunately it all missed us and we got zero. The same ting happened a few weeks back when they suggested up to 70mm would fall and I think the best fall was 7 mm to the north of us. We got about two. At least it is a bit cooler. Ron.
 
Not raining yet. Lots of dark areas of the skies, however, there is quite a bit of blue and white up there and a bit of light trying to scrape through. Two snowdrops out now. I too have lots of daffs shooting upwards which is great. Really mild although we had strong winds overnight and quite a few gusts springing forth this morning.
 
-25C with overcast. Not much happening, very quiet as it becomes when in the cold spell. I went skiing yesterday and felt good for it. I wonder how Chris is doing, I understand that in his area they have been receiving some major snow accumulations that make our snowfalls look like a flurry by comparison.

It's raining and my bird station blew over last night. More heavy rain and strong winds to come. I'm staying in.

Went to see prof of onc yesterday. I have some small cancer areas in nodes and a couple of patches now. I said no to surgery again (it would prob kill me). So after my 6 chemo's i'm going on a targeted therapy called Lynparza. this apparently will prevent mutation damage from my Brca1 gene. It's supposed to hold off cancer growth. If i'm alive in a couple of years and the cancer has grown i will go back on to chemo. they are going to keep an eye on my ovarian cancer marker which needs to be under 35 and has been for 6 weeks at 24. So they don't think the cancer is progressing, although at the start of my chemo i had no cancer on the left side but do now. I'm going onto 1g of feco pd in the hope of knocking the rest of the cancer out along side Lynparza. I will only go to the hospital once a month for bloods and to discuss how i'm doing. Can't believe i've come this far! Feeling a tad more free now.
 
We got a little rain last night. Not much but enough to wet the ground. Between weather and school holidays I have not been near the water yet . I hope to do some fishing in a couple of weeks. Ron.
 
Well, this is a dull January day. Half way through the dreadful January so i'm feeling happier. I really don't like Jan and most of Feb. But, in 4 weeks it will be quite a bit lighter and a bit further through winter. Spring will be on it's way. I have more snowdrops come up, primroses, daffs, tulips, and i even have a daisy.

6c here and fine,if a tad blustery again....I too hate jan & Feb & Nov.& Dec. hahaha but we'll look forward with hope in our hearts and we'll never walk alone.....
 
Again only a little rain. A bit more out west. Unfortunately the combined dam levels for the south east is just under55%. Water restrictions will be in very soon. Saw my nephrologist today. Kidneys are no worse. Liver is very inflamed(you can see why I don't drink). Liver is what is making me feel less than well. Not much I can do about it. Seems to be one of those things that fluctuates. Ron.
 
Don't know much about livers, Ron, but people do mention Milk Thistle. I only know about this from cancer sufferers like myself. Don't know what else would help. Wishing you better health though. That's not much rain either.

Always loved that song, Carol. Despite being a Man Utd supporter lol, i loved Gerry and the Pacemakers too.

I've heard Milk Thistle is good for the liver and it's certainly worth a go Ron....as to Gerry and the Pacemakers,you can't beat 60s music and as my dear old dad used to say,",,bloody racket,they don't make music like they used to in my day" referring to Bing Crosby and Max Bygraves etc
 
Massive thunder storms embedded in a front sweeping across Victoria. Heavy rain has caused flash flooding in some areas. Warnings have gone out to the bushfire areas for landslips ,falling trees and flash floods. Ironically the storms started two fires north of Melbourne with lightning strikes. The front is expected to bring good rain to Victoria , NSW and Qld though they don't think there will be enough to impact the drought and fill dams. There was good rain also reported in southern WA and the north of WA has had heavy rain from the passage of two recent cyclones. Ron.
 
Just been reading about the ash from the fires running into rivers killing off all the fish. Is there no end to this for Australia. Pleased some rain is a help but when it does this it's just killing more wildlife. So sad.

I cannot name a current chart song, lol. Love the 60's and 70's music, but i don't really have a radio on much these days, Carol.

Been bucketing down here. Dark gloomy skies but still not cold. Still have roses on my rose bush and lots more flowers coming up. Apparently tomorrow will provide us with a high and some nice weather.
 
Its been days since I last checked in, the weather has been up and down with the temperatures, today is cold and sunny -20. We have had a fair bit of snow so far for January keeping me busy. I am going to have to deal with the snow load on the storage shed behind the house, its back is ready to break if I don 't.
 
Lots of rain forecast but none forthcoming for us. Some nice falls from storms out west but they need follow up for it to be of any use. Not much rain fell on the major fires and what did fall made no difference. Cloudy at the moment but no rain this morning. Ron.
 
5c and damp.Staying indoors today...Scott tex'd his temp in Kalgoorlie.and it's down to 20c............NSW rain is at present on the lunchtime tv news.Talk about being between a rock and a hard place....I don't listen to music either Di.....
 
So much for a nice day. It is raining now, really gloomy but not too cold at all. I shall settle for that if i can have a lovely sunny weekend.

Cannot believe how long Australia has been mainstream news. it's there continually apart from the attention sought and given to a certain couple of royals, lol. What a farce.
 
The gold coast got over 300mm of rain yesterday. The flash flooding cut the main highway and caused some havoc flooding carparks at some of the amusement parks . We had storms overnight but not a lot of rain . For the first time since last September we are not under a total fireban. Things are improving in the main bushfire area. A new fire in Victoria was contained early by a couple of the newly leased giant water bombers. Ron.
 
Lovely and sunny today. Bloody white with frost this morning and i've gone to bash a hole in the ice on the pond. Yep, it's cold. I have more snowdrops out and feel tonnes better for a bright sunny day.

6 inches of snow, Buff, and i bet it will only get deeper. I'd love to be there to witness it, only for the sake of cobalt skies, sunshine and a picturesque scene covered in snow.

Now we are still seeing Australia, but now bad news due to the flooding. Omg, when will it let up for the Aussies and their wildlife.
 
We've had cobalt skies and sunshine here D., but no snow (are we ever going to get some ?) ...crowds of people at the coast and along the riverside,with kids on bikes and scooters ( whatever happened to family planning?) and dogs racing after balls and sticks.The noise was deafening. Easter's going to be a treat if it's this bad in January.
 
We had about 20 cms of light fluffy snow, the kind that is easy to shovel, but not any good on the trails as it offers no floatation for skiing or snowmobiles. Neighbor's wife and son got stuck on the trails yesterday, I would never go out in those conditions. Today I want to clear the snow on the last shed, the depth of snow is close to waist deep in places.
 
In the midst of rain hail and lightning another large fire broke out between Melbourne and Bendigo in Victoria. More storms are sweeping through the southern bushfire area causing problems with flash flooding and land slip. They are still trying to clean up the mess caused by the supercell on the gold coast. We have been warned of the possibility of more severe storms today. Ron
 
No end to it Ron. Again it's on the news, this time hair and the superstorm. You'll be getting locust next.

Brilliant skies lovely sun, and frost covering everything. Nice and warm in though. Was in the -C last night and early this morning. Evenings are just a tad lighter, one month out of the darkest day.
 
-20 under cobalt blue skies and blazing sunshine. I stood before the outhouse in my housecoat and enjoyed the warm sun upon my back and the dry cold air, is all good for motility. Quiet and peaceful, one would never know about all the turmoil and misery going on in other places in the world. Its one of those days in winter to be outside to enjoy.
 
Hi Catherine, glad the smoke may have cleared for you. Our minimum last night was four degrees higher than your max for today. For today we have a min of 23 c and a max 35c with 57% humidity. they have forecast severe storms for SE Qld today. It was bad in Canberra and most of the NSW east coast yesterday with wild storms and damaging hail. Looks like it may be our turn again. Ron.
 
But we are going for 32C tomorrow with rain. It haven't any claim advise for Canberra yet. I got a claim with $20,000 to hail damage for a claim in SE Melbourne.

Gippsland fires are still burning and not contained but we only at advice level today.

I heard someone from Mallacoota say today that their town will rebuild it bad and there not Marysville.
 
I think there were around 1900 emergency calls in Canberra for storm damage from the massive hail. It even broke some of the glass at the entrance of Parliament house. Damage to cars was enormous. Ron.
 
I spoke to soon they now calling it the East Coast Hail Event of 18-20 January, and one insurer has opened bulk lodgements for Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland the ACT.
 
-12C and overcast. Went for a snowmobile ride with the neighbor and enjoyed the afternoon until both of us got stuck both in the slush in the bay by the cabin and then again on the return trail. A 20 minute ride turned into a 4 hour ordeal, not doing that one again until things firm up. Good thing we had a pull strap or we would have had to walk out 2 kms, as there was no way two old men could get the snowmobiles out of the hole. If we paid better attention to conditions instead of the beautiful day this wouldn't happen.
 
Congrats on the anniversary, Ron. I can only hope, lol. Think i'm finished with infused chemo for now and i have a targeted chemo tablet to take. Sorry about the weather. I wish you could experience just the warm summer days that we sometimes have here in England.

A wet damp hung in the air today though a few birds are starting to sing. Bit early but it has been so mild. Nights have been cold for a while now.
 
We are living underwater, no rain just 80% humidity. It is almost impossible to live without aircon although I am . Fans just move the hot sticky air around. I've almost forgotten what a good a good nights sleep is like.Ron,
 
Ron me darlin', we know there's a lot worse things than sleepless nights and humidity but it's hard to think of anything else when you're suffering from them both.I would tell you to put your head under the cold tap,but the water's probably warm.Wishing a nice cool breeze and light showers will come your way very soon......8c here and not a bad day.Lots of snowdrops in flower which is a good sign of spring.There's also talk of the mild weather having a good effect on the small bird population as it hasn't been cold enough to kill them so far....
 
They have recovered the crew of the Canadian water bomber and overnight another man was found dead in his burnt out property home near Moruya in southern NSW . 73 fires are still burning in NSW. A cool change went thru the area last night but it does not seem to help, as soon as things heat up and the winds get stronger ,everything just flares up again. They suggested we would get some good rain overnight and during the day but so far nothing just 30c and high humidity, Ron.
 
drab, dull weather out. Not nice, so i'm definitely going to take a day to really rest up and not get anything done. I'm delighted the evenings are still getting lighter now and that there is only the one week of January left. Then it's short February.

I wish you had good seasons Ron. We'd all love to be able to help but we just can't.

I wish I could help out Ron, high humidity in the heat is something my body cannot handle well. The window airconditioner goes a long ways to provide a good sleep on warm summer nights. The way this season is going it might be an early spring, which may mean a long spring that drags on as they often do here.

Yep, seems our numbers are dwindling in this thread. I still like a whinge over weather though.

Very Springlike here too. The damp/wet is still loitering on everything but the sun is out, not enough to bring a dry day yet. If this is a Winter's day then i'll happily await a gorgeous Spring and even better Summer.
 
I'll take the cold over this mild stuff anytime, not much good for anything but ice fishing. Yesterday I had to deal with water coming into the house due to ice damming which this house is prone to during long mild spells like this. I 'll take -20C anytime over these mild conditions Carol.
 
The monsoon has hit North Qld finally with flooding in several towns including Townsville. Nothing down our way. 30c + every day and high humidity. We are in a non stop northerly wind pattern at the moment. We need some south easters to cool things a bit. Ron.
 
Still wet out. Had some drizzle last night. We've not got anything to complain about really compared to some countries. Stay strong, Ron. Somehow we need to encourage you to get to enjoy some retirement. Not sure i'd want to exist in Australia. That humidity would kill me off with a stroke or heart attack i would imagine.

We are going to have temps in double figures during this week. I'm pleased about that.
 
-8C Gray. Keeping an eye on the roof, I don't particularly like going up over two stories to place those roof salt pucks in the trouble area, but for now its holding up. I cannot get on the roof, but I can lean on the ladder and toss them, normally this isn't much of an issue until we get into March.
 
Lovely and sunny this morning. Still wet, no strength in the sun to dry it up properly. So nearly through January I'm feeling happier. I so love it when January is over. I'm afraid its my worst month of the year. Takes me a little time to get over Xmas and into the gloom. Nice weather for January. Not so cold either.

Hadn't realised your cabin was two storey's Buff. No wonder the snow on the roof can be a problem. Take care.
 
Strange place Australia. The monsoon has really kicked in . The town of Ayr in north Qld received half a meter of rain yesterday. It shut down the schools and the roads. Fortunately dam levels are down so the water cleared quickly. Down south is not so good. A recon chopper landed south of Canberra and its spotlight set the grass on fire , now there is a huge out of control fire heading for Canberra and the Australian capital territory. Canberra was nearly destroyed by a similar blaze several years ago. I just hope they can stop it in time. Ron.
 
Two roofs of consern, my house is two stories and its prone to ice damming due to its cathedral ceiling design, and my remote cabin which is hard to access but very small. Not going there right now with trail conditions and slushy lakes. Went skiing yesterday and the snow is very unstable with the mild conditions causing me to sink. I didn't go very far. Not a nice winter this season, but we get these once in awhile and we were due for one after being spoiled with the last few winters.
 
Another heatwave coming thru with Melbourne and Canberra with temps over 40. We are still in the low 30c but they are expecting humidity close to 80% for the next week. it is so hot and humid I just can't go out for most of the daylight hours , I finish up with heat stress. Even with all the humidity we are getting no rain. It's a bit different up north where some areas got 800 mm of rain last week.Ron.
 
Nothing to report from our little island a:a subtropical Alcatraz.. The salt water mosquitoes have been procreating on a grand scale and would , no doubt give Buff's forest flies a run for their money on the pest scale. 31* cloudy and no rain on the radar for the local area today. A humidifier does help in these conditions. We soldier on regardless adhering to my old unofficial regimental motto "Do only what is Necessary' The official on is "Celer er Audax 'which out French speaking Canadian folks would know!

Really gloomy today. Still wet, damp and nothing dry around. So pleased January is over. Expecting around 13C which is very good for this time of year. I have a couple of daffs that have their heads ready to drop and open the flower. Lovely to see life again.
 
10c and cloudy with short gentle showers.According to last nights forecast we in the North East of Blighty have had the warmest and sunniest
January on record.
 
It certainly has warmed up well enough. I thought we were going to be in for a cold one. September, October and november did have some really cold days/nights. I told my neighbour i thought we would have some good snow late last year. I was wrong, well, so far anyhow.
 
Nil chance of snow here. I'm really feeling for the folk living in the ACT. They declared an emergency there with 40c temps and strong winds and fires closing in. Last time fire went thru , 500 homes and four lives were lost. A lot of the ACT folk would remember it well. Up here it is still hot with very high humidity. I hope it changes soon because I am not feeling well at all. Ron.
 
Ron, I'm really feeling for you at the moment. I don't suppose a cold bath is possible for you in such hot weather. I suspect the water is well and truly warm there. I'm sorry there is no escaping that weather. It is an awful situation to be in. Best of luck, and rest up, you can't afford to expend energy in that heat and humitity.
 
No bath in the unit and we will soon be on water restrictions. I'm already collecting water when I shower to water my few plants and to use in the pump bucket I made to flush the outboard motor. Another hot and humid day . Some rain expected on Wednesday. Ron.
