What is YOUR weather like today??

Well, it's still sunny and warm. Just the one light shower. So i've been in the garden for a little bit just taking rests regularly. Don't want to overdo it.
Wasn't that volcano thought to be extinct or dormant?

I woke up to the sound of heavy machinery and their beeping back up allarms at 4 Am. It would appear that we lost the battle to save our local forest from being clear cut. They plan to log up to my property line, coming with in 30 meters of the neighbor's house. Beyond this remaining buffer, there is nothing standing for more than 15 kms to the north. The land has been stripped naked for as far as the eye can see over the last 10 years, and little has grown back. As for the weather, good summer weather is moving in for the next few days.

Man, that's just not right. No wonder we call it Onterrible. You have my support bud.

Its trying to shift into summer, it warms up only to get rain and chill out again. Not much one can do about their logging plans, they couldn't care less about human values or biodiversity, for them its about the money. Chris it would appear that the heat has shifted east over our area, while our cold damp weather moved over to your end of the country. Hope it puts the fires out.

18c with a cool breeze off the sea.Good bike day.Still very hot in the south and France,Germany and Poland. There's queues for the bathing pools and "cool"rooms are open to the public. Also council wagons driving around spraying folk with cold water..There's never any "normal" weathe now. It's either very wet, very windy or very hot.

This year is much warmer and closer to normal. Here too when the westerlies flow we get drier warmer conditions, and when it does not the easterlies dominate and I tend to get mold problems with my firewood and gloomy cold summers. I had to get the catalytic converter replaced on the truck, these don't come cheap. However I am glad its done and I don't have to breath in exhaust fumes.

You're in the trash again! All my you tube alerts are not in the social media section they're in my mail. I have no idea what google is about. Lovely and hot today, sunny too.

Can't believe what they're doing to the forest Buff, that's atrocious. Will wildlife still come near you? Fancy Aussies complaining about rain, lol. Mind, 3C is cold. Glad the cluster headaches are going. Are you enjoying this weather, Carol? lol.

Summer with temps in the high 20's and people are out and about on the long weekend. I hope they are careful with their fireworks as its dry out there. The loggers built a wide road up to ground zero and have a lot of heavy equipement and trucks lined up like tanks on the front line. Its about to get noisy around here. Spooky, the rich wildlife such as our moose are largely a thing of the past now. Once they are done stripping the township the only thing we will have will be wolves and coyotes, and perhaps deer, their counts are increasing. None of these are good in high numbers.

Hi All
The weather in the north has not been as hot as the south but I have enjoyed it. Sunday it has gone cooler with some rain.
I am still waiting for a good thunder storm but alas to no avail.
I am sorry to hear what is going on at your end Bufford I bet it is lovely seeing the wild life why can't they leave things alone?

I see more deer in town than I do in the country, maybe its because there are more trees standing in town than whats left after the loggers. The first time I saw this, I thought the deer statue was well done, but upon second look it was real enjoying a drink from the bird bath on the front lawn along with its fawn. Temps in the low 20's under cloud, it may warm up later.

A nice sunny day again here. Not as hot as many of you, and i'm jealous. At least it's not raining. My flowers are all coming out nicely, i'm so pleased i bothered to plant the seeds. We have Muntjac deer around here, they're only the size of a labrador dog.

I agree with you CWly .I would love to live in the wilds, but maybe a mile or so from a small town with all the trimmings, like Docs, hospital, library and supermarket. And good TV reception of course. We are lucky to live near the coast and the mouth of the Tyne, but we take it for granted having been born and bred here.It is lovely though, except when the tourists / day-trippers take over as they will be doing today....20c with a warm breeze.

Same here, Buff! I stand up for what I believe in without a doubt! Yes, I've have given, as well as received fisticuffs and boots aplenty. I really should have taken the high road, but some people are just agressive and bring it on. I grew out of it in my mid twenties when my hands got broken too many times, so no sense in it. As for the boot... if nobody sees it, it never happened... right? It's currently 18c and rainy in my locale. I'm always here to talk bro.

Speaking of concrete jungles , I just spent two days in hospital. I went to the doctor to get my inr checked for my warfarin dose . I was a bit unsteady and my bp was way out of whack. He did a blood test and off to hospital with troponin in my blood. I have lots of ectopic heart beats and they thought I may have had a heart attack. They did three more troponin tests during the day , two were lower but the last was the highest for the day. I spent an unpleasant night in er and had two more tests today . The last was a lot lower. They have no idea what is causing it but they don't think it's my heart. Most likely reflux. It is pouring rain outside as I type this post. Ron.

Rest up Ron, and hopefully it will pass, that feeling of swinging blood pressure is rough and something I fear when it happens. I emailed the forestry people to complain about the noise levels when they are logging at 4am. There is no way to sleep even with the window open when they work with large machinery. I'll just have to run the airconditioner to cover it up.

4am is probably good start time as i suppose being up there they have a short year to work. Even though, 4am??? And the trees. I love nature, it's so sad humans need to destroy so much.

Ron, i hope all is well with you now. I hope it's nothing serious.

Sunny and warm today. Really enjoying it before the cooler weather sets in at the weekend.

Take it easy, Ron. I hope you are feeling better soon. I got the old furnace out and sent to the dump today and the new one is delivered on site and dry fitted. It's been rainy all day with high of 18c. We have had a lot of lightning this afternoon. I'm not too worried as the forest is very wet. The guys from the HVAC were great, I hung out and helped take things outside. They both ride dirt bikes/street bikes, so I may have met some new friends. Cheers!

Same here Ron have a rest and hope you get well soon.
I hope you get a response from your e-mail Buff and they let you sleep that is a ridiculous time to start cutting.
The weather here is cloudy but the sun is trying its best to make an appearance.

Ron,hugs from me mate.We were watching Outback Truckers yesterday and one guy was trying to do a repair in +52c .!!!
You're a bit like your weather, never boring and we don't know what to expect next.
16c here and comfortable....CWly.I don't think the day trippers leave any more mess than the locals.Young folk nowadays don't have any respect for anything.Young parents allow the kids to drop later willy nilly.

Quite today as it would appear the logging crew does not work on weekends. The forester rep called back and told me they will now only work during daytime hours, by law they have to comply with noise levels with time of day. Today its gray from the smoke from the big fire northwest of us that has grown to over 80,000 hectares. These big fires are occuring in second and third generation plantations, as these were replanted as pine and spruce forests with no deciduous growth to help slow fires, as a result these burn with great intensity. The more they mess with nature, the more nature will push back.

You hit the nail on the head, Buff. I'm glad you have less noise to deal with while trying to sleep. It shouldn't take a rocket surgeon, (joke) to figure that humans need to sleep! Alas, we live in a different age where everything natural seems to be dwindling under poor leadership and is going to the dogs. (no joke) Rainy here today again and muggy at 20c with scattered cloud cover. Take good care all.

Another 'brown' sky day. Brown from the big fire. It's a wonder how long it will be before they talk about falling atmospheric oxygen levels as the forests are consumed through both logging and fire events along with the dead zones they talk about in the seas. Otherwise nothing new, the cat is sprawled out on the easy chair warming it up for my snooze.

Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't just get out the rocking chair and sit on the front porch to wait for the big asteroid to hit. What in the bloody hell have we, (humans) done? It's up to mother nature as to how she takes course, after receiving such indignant acts from humankind... kind of scary but I'll be okay for now. It was sunny and warm here today 26 was the high. We may be in for another thunder storm tonight. I love it!

Cheers!

Wow, really need a thunderstorm today. The humidity is not doing me any good whatsoever. Got my washing dry though. Shouldn't complain, more and more of my flowers blooming now. Last night the cat woke me up by knocking an open can of cat food off the surface in the kitchen. I go in to check and there are the rest of the contents on the floor with one cat and a hedgepig greedily eating off my floor! Not the alarm call i wanted at 4am.

Three pools of ant arctic air heading our way. Rain, sleet , snow and high winds hitting the southern states and gradually heading up our way as cold westerlies. Ron.

Wet windy and freezing down south. The wind has not arrived here yet . We had a fine sunny day with a top of 26c. It will be cold for the next few mornings but temps will get up to 27-28c tomorrow then 19 c for Sunday when the westerlies arrive, Ron.

That sounds brilliant scottsma you are making me jealous it was cloudy here early this morning but when the sun is out it is quite warm.
Hope the rest of you nice people are having some decent weather where you are.

A regular summer day in the upper 20's. I had a CT scan for the small bowel: although I felt lousy prior, the procedure went well after drinking 3 large cups of contrast that later came back to..... The scan went well and when I thought it was over as I left for the parking lot, it was just the beginning of the ordeal. To make this short I had to use the bathroom(s) 9 times rather explosively before I got to the parking lot and one more impromptu dump in the parking lot as descretely as I could or the colostomy bag would have exploded, as these things can only hold so much.
I have no idea what was put into that contrast but it was the most violent laxative I can remember, and worse than the preps for colonoscopy.
After a few more rocket trips to the public loo in the supermarket I was perfectly bowel prepped. It left me worn out, I guess that is how those Space X boosters must feel after making the trip.

Sorry, I'm laughing at you, Buff. Yes, those bags aren't plumbed into the main sewage line. I had ct recently and also had issues. Also, there's nothing worse than hospital and public loo's for picking up norwalk, rotovirus and other nasties to put on top of the Crohn's. I hope you survived and the result is good.

Ron, i would so like that weather for our Summer. I'm so near putting the heating on!

I hope you feel better now, Buff. I threw up in the grocery store parking lot the other day... Something didn't sit well and came out violently. I had a lot of people look at me sideways for that one. Thankfully I was pushing my cart out with the groceries or it would have happened in the store. :( It's muggy and 29c in the shade.

6.6 earthquake hit just off the coast of Broome West Australia this afternoon. No injuries or major damage. Residents reported it was a fair rattler and scared the crap out of a lot of stock (and the residents.) earthquakes are pretty rare in the area unlike further north in the Indonesian archipelago. We have no active volcanoes in Australia. Ron.

20c and a really nice day.Went across to the park and sat under a tree.We could here music from the festival in the village.
The acts were great yesterday, but too crowded for me.Next year I'm going to take a stick with a nail in the end to poke them out of the way.I'm only little but my hubby wouldn't lift me onto his shoulders...…...
