What should I ask my DR?

Hi - and welcome to the club!
There will be loading doses, usually given as an initial, then 2 weeks out, then 4 weeks, then onto your regular schedule. You should ask at what interval they plan on giving the infusions (8 weeks is typical unless you have symptoms arise before then) - also what dosage.
How long to expect the infusion to take, can you bring food/activities to the infusion (as you will typically be there for a few hours).
Will you get any pre-meds, and if so, what?
Is the plan to keep you on it indefinitely, or until symptoms are controlled? I have heard from some on here that they only get a certain # of infusions....then are taken off Remicade.....I myself have been on it for over 7 years with no plans on stopping it.....

Ask if you're going to receive it at the hospital or at a private clinic. In Kingston they do infusions at both, I didn't know I was being referred to the private clinic until I got a call for a strange person, my doc failed to mention it.
