Hi guys I just got my results back from the Calprotectin test. In came in at 11. My gastro specialist said that's very good almost better than normal. I really thought it would have been hi 300 etc. When I did the test I was having a bad week. He said he thought it was going to show Crohn's, but now he is not sure. He's my second specialist in four years, feels like I'm going around in circles. My last 3 Calprotectin tests in 6 months have been 53, 212, 11. He now wants me to do with food map diet program. Says now could be ibs but will not confirm anything. He said the same as my first specialist there's too much fluctuation going on. I have now had 2 colonoscopy, endoscopy, cat scan with dye, heaps of blood tests, becoming the stool test expert. Is it in ny head? Cant be. Yesterday we went to the movies with my wife I was having a good day no stomach issues, way home she asked if I wanted to stop at a pizza restaurant for dinner. We ate and 30min latter i needed the toilet. But I only went once yesterday and today has been good. Cheers

I'm not sure what's going on, but I know it most likely isn't just in your head. I hope this new specialist gets you some answers ASAP. You have my support.

But also did a stool test of 14 other things I have never heard of before, only 1 came back with a # marker thats Bocavirus

Hmmm, I'm really not that familiar with it. From what I understand, it would appear that bocavirus has been linked to gastroenteritis, or inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. That would be something worth looking into.

Cheers for that the answer was come back and see me in 4 months time unless something goes wrong. Don't get me wrong he's a very nice man. The only pain I get is very low on the left-hand side, near pelvic bone, it's not even a pain it's more of a dull stab. He said if the numbers are higher again he would do another colonoscopy. He also said he can't see a reason to have one just yet as the test come back very low numbers. I will take out onions garlic etc from my eating, as my wife uses these and most cooks. Wait till I tell her this. Ahhh

I'd go with the IBS food map diet route as suggested by your GI and also avoid processed foods. IBS is a very common condition, IBD, much much less common. wishing you well.
