Was at the TCC today. What you said is true, they are as above board as you can get. Great to be able to talk with people with so much information as well.

    Ulcerative colitis sufferers

Smoking it, and I really dont like to smoke, has cut my bathroom trips in half. It has gotten rid of all my cramping. And it has helped me sleep through the night with no bathroom trips. Hasnt done anything for my joint inflammation sadly. I want to try the oil form to see how that works for me.

A question for anyone who has been on remicade and taken a break before restarting.

My understanding from asking my doc is if I stop, there is no reason to start again. He claims that if you stop, for whatever reason, if wont work if you start again.

    Heya!

Nope! Hasnt even been suggested . But now that you mention that, I will ask about it next time I see the doctor. All he has ever asked me to do was blood work and that is for the imuran.

He pretty much said the same thing, that it wouldnt be as much of an issue if I had crohns.

    Heya!

I too have been on prednisone and asacol for years with no real issues. Until the last few months. Doc claims that the remicade will take care of all the swelling and joint pain. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, to my surprise, my doc was all for me using mj. His words to me when I told him that the cramps were gone and the trips to the bathroom were less than half were " I could have told you that!" But, all he was willing to do was give me the letter of diagnosis so I can go to the TCC. Good...

Thanks Vonfunk. I'm seeing my GI today after work. I'm going to ask him his opinion and ask to see if he will fill out the statement of diagnosis. I'm assuming he won't once he know why I want it. I heard that to actually receive the card takes some time which is why I am trying for the...

    Heya!

My name is Nick and I am a U C sufferer! I was diagnosed roughly 20 years ago. Ive been on high doses of asacol, prednisone (effin hate that drug!) , imurran, and soon to start remicade. Prednisone has been the worse for me. Although it was a "quick fix" the side effects were horrible. The...

I honestly dont believe he will go for it at all. But its worth a try. And if he says "no" , I'll just move on to the next doc!

I've decided to try and talk to my doc tomorrow to see how he feels about it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have found that smoking eliminates my cramping and cuts my bathroom trips to less than half. I really hope he agrees with this. Wish me luck!
