First question: Having Crohn's we know we aren't supposed to eat alot of things. So I was wondering is there something you just have to have that your really not supposed to eat? Mine is cereal, I love cereal. Second question is: I am not supposed to have ceral due to milk makes my stomach hurt really bad, Since getting Crohn's I have become Lactose intolerant. Is this common with people with Chrohn's?

Hi Angee! I'm still new to Crohns too but the past month or so dairy is painful so I think I'm now lactose intolerant. Soy really isnt bad tho, I like the chocolate milk and dont mind the cheese, bread, pudding. My weakness is coffee even tho it makes me so sick i just love it! :p

I was lactose intolerant way before being diagnosed with Chrons. I take lactaid before I eat cheese or yogurt and it works pretty well. Even with lactaid milk and I don't get along to well so I use soy milk in my cereal. There are a bounty of dairy free milk alternatives out there...rice milk, almond milk, hemp milk, soy milk...and many brands of each kind. Some are good, some are ok, some are naaaasty. Give a few a try and maybe you will find something you like in your cereal...the very vanilla silk soymilk is pretty yummy.
