Hi again everyone

Sorry to be talking about poo, but it's one of the only clues for my daughter at the moment.

How long does it take for food to get through their systems, especially when they are so little? The reason I ask, is because I gave my 7 month old daughter some pureed carrots today, and an hour and half later they were in her nappy, in the same state that they went in, accompanied by the usual mucus. Surely it can't be that quick? The last time I gave her carrots was Wednesday, and now it's Monday, so if it's from Wednesday then it hasn't been digested in 4 days which is also a concern! We only do one type of food a day, and have only tried a handful of veggies and fruit. Already have found avocado doesn't agree with her.

And is anyone weird like me and takes photos of their kids poo to show the doctors?!!

Patiently waiting for her paediatricians appt on friday, and if you need a recap of her story, it's under 'panted cell metaplasia in 4 month old'

Unfortunately, yes, food can pass that quickly. Years ago I had co-workers who thought I had an eating disorder because I would have to run to the bathroom not long after eating (sometimes less than an hour!) and I would have whatever I ate come out undigested.....

Others here have taken pictures, that is actually a GREAT way for a doctor to see what you are talking about!

I do not have CD (my eldest son does), but I cannot digest carrots. One of my favourite meals is a spiced carrot soup I make. I almost have to eat it standing beside the bathroom! And then stay there for the rest of the day! As it turns out, my son has no problem with carrots. Go figure. I do think some people just have a problem digesting some veggies, although definitely pass this info on to your baby's GI. And, you are smart to take pics!

My nephew vomits when he eats carrots. I think some foods just don't settle well with some people.

But taking pics to document is a good thing. If anyone ever steals my phone they'll be shocked and horrified! lol

My 3 year old already complains when he looks at photos on my phone 'oh mum not another picture of baby sisters poo!'

Thanks for all your inputs everyone, I might take carrots off the menu for a little while, sounds like they could be a funny one for a lot of people! What a shame it's one of your fave foods CrohnsKidMom!

Dont worry about talking about poo! you tend to do it all the time when youve got a kid with bowel issues. Also re: taking photos of poo, it was a regular occurance before Lucy was diagnosed with CD. I cant remember back to when Lucy was a baby as her poos were always irregular, but I have defninately given Evie (16 months) some foods that havn't agreed with her that have resulted in unusual poo.

Lol, I always joked that If someone stole my cell phone and hacked into my pictures. ........well let's say they would think I'm sicko.
I had the gi nurse give me her number so I could forward the pic.

My son use to think it was normal for moms and daughters to talk poo.
Last year he said, 'your different aren't you mom'. :medal1: Yup!
