ARGH!.....another $$$ out the door!

Think it is the starter - going to cost about $250- to fix...and I just put over $700- into it a couple weeks ago!!!

Try this..seriously. Take something and hit the starter a couple times. Not a stick or something like that because that won't do anything. You need something solid like a hockey stick, or even a screw driver works actually.

Hit it a couple times and see if it starts.

thanks - will give that a shot too...I did put the truck in neutral and shifted back/forth a few times then tried in neutral again..;.nothing...a bit chilly out here today to be working outside - around/below freezing with a little snow! brrrr

Why can't this happen in WARM weather?!?!?!

That sounds more like a battery. Is it just clicking when you turn the key? Cold weather is battery killers if it is weak.

Battery was ok - I actually had it on the charger before going out.....turn the key, all gauges go where they are supposed to.....event tried it with the charger on the 'engine start' setting.....

I'm working tomorrow, so I may see about doing something this week about it.....

Had a tow truck driver show me this trick a few years ago, unfortunately my starter was too far gone.

EDIT - Had a 100 mile tow courtesy of the auto club though, I got my money's worth that year.

Yeah, I went a long time on a broken starter by doing this trick whenever it wouldn't start lol. You should have saw some of the looks I got when people walked by and I was beating the crap out of my engine haha
