Hello everyone, long time no chat.

At what point do you know when to go to the E.R./see your Doctor? When you know nothing can be done for you.

For the last 4 days I have been somewhat bloated with sharp abdominal pains at times as well as pooing blood with my stools. I haven't went to the E.R. yet hoping it will pass like it usually does, but it is day 5 now and still no change, doesn't seem to be getting worse but it aint gettin any better either.

Is it just a flaire or is it getting worse? that seems to always be the question for me. Yes I am somewhat scared at times, especially when the pain and blood appear and dont leave for days.

Sincerely and Respectfully, Gary

P.S. For those of you who don't know me or haven't read any of my threads, I have moderate to severe Crohn's Disease and have had one bowel resection done in 2008, minus 1 foot of intestines now.

I waited until I was going 15-20 times a day, was pretty much bedridden and out of my mind with depression, and had stopped taking any pills. If there's a significant amount of blood in your stools, you should really have something done about it. I stayed in the hospital for a month, and got way, way better, almost to the point of remission, and they started me on remicade and prednisone for the first time. It wasn't fun to stay there for a month, but it was definitely worth it. Luckily, I was able to get everything almost completely free because I have no job or property or insurance, and the local mega-hospital has a program for people like that.

Good luck.

My GI doc has told me to get to the ER @ any sign of a flare.
Big or small don't hesitate.
I suppose its easier to treat in the early stages than wait til its full-blown.
And boy does that Prednisolone IV sure help.

When I pass out and wake up there. No sooner. I'm just stubborn like that. I really shouldn't be but I've had too many ER visits where all they do is send me home either wondering why I didn't just make an appointment and leave them alone or thinking I'm a drug seeker.

Did lab work and found out to be iron deficiant anemia, starting iron pills.

I have to also agree with Colt as well on that one.
