I saw an ad in O magazine the other day for a product I never heard of called Butterfly body liners. It is for accidental bowel leakage. (something I didn't know was a thing until I read about the product). I thought it may give my teen a bit of confidence when going out so I am having someone buy them for me in the states & bring them up when they visit me next month. Anyone try these?

Extra long panty liners work great. I'm reluctant to spend any more money on anything. Folded paper towel when I'm not going out.

I am not sure how much they will help as they seem very dinky! Like Tuff I use long or night sanitary towels, usually the ones with odour management capabilities. I have being doing this for the last 20 years. I feel cleaner because I can change it frequently and it stops odour. :)

If she has any serious accident that won't do a thing for her. I have had so many accidents in the past and even heavy duty diapers barely contained the diarrhea. A pad like that really is for drops of liquid but if you are worried about anything more she needs thick pads or diapers when things are bad.

Thanks for the feedback. That why I asked! It makes sense to me but I'm not the one with IBD. Only an IBDer would know for sure!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, certainly that would be much preferable and discrete. Diapers are not comfy and are puffy but when you have tons of liquid coming out with no control it requires heavy duty cushioning. I'm sorry to hear your daughter has to deal with this especially at her age. It's just awful.

Thanks. I am trying to find ways for her to feel like she can be out & about. She hates the diapers and will stay home when things are that bad. When things are better she will use panty liners but she says they move on her and sometimes miss the area. That is why I was thinking it may work.

She is right, the pads also moved a lot for me. I bought ones that stuck to my underwear but they still move. I mean you could use medical tape to hold the pad against her but I guess that's probably going to be uncomfortable

If using pads - you definitely want the ones with 'wings'. Extra surface area to stick to underwear:)
