If you've joined CCFA or not, you can go to their sight and click into advocacy. It is a way to ask our reps to help more people know about auto immune disease and get much needed $$'s for research. Being a 5 year suffere from Colitis, newly diagnosed with Crohns, it never ceases to amaze me that we have to suffer this much from a disease that has been around so long! Please go into their site to get more support. I am going to forward the link to my family and friends to bug our reps to get it to pass. :)

I raised $4000 for the CCFA last year in my marathon run and have been an annual donor for about 15 years. It is a great organization and they offer a lot of great support programs and events.

There is a link in this thread from CCFA that allows you to contact your representative about legislation for IBD. It is very easy to shoot an email to your legislators, and give a personal testimony as to how Crohn's has impacted your life.

Thank you to everyone who has raised money for CCFA. It is a great source of advocacy for us.

Ditto thanks to all who have helped raised money. Hobo, you ran while you were in a flare?! Unbelievable! I have to stop feeling sorry myself and wallowing in my new diagnosis...All of you on this site are unbelievable. Especially, the ones that are young & were young at diagnosis! Unbelievable. I still can't believe that they don't have something that works better on these Auto Immune problems!!! Ugghhh!!!! Sue

Yes. I did the Las Vegas Rock and Roll marathon in December in full flare. I just popped a percocet before the race and toughed it out. I had trained though four days a week prior. Was not easy, but it was something I had to do for myself.

Plus I am a bit of a loner, so it was an attempt on my part to get out of my cave and meet people and make friends. Next up is a softball league starting next month. =p
