His dad is a jack russell & his mum is a bedlington x jack russell. He is white & very fluffy which doesn't help with his digging & mud rolling habbit.
He is so loving & friendly & has lots of energy but when I was taken ill when I was out on my own with them he never left my side. I love my furry babies.

I got a new xmas tree today! Yesterday was Thanksgiving and today is Black Friday, the big shopping day here in the US. They had a good sale at Home Depot today, a pre-lit 7.5 foot artificial tree for only $60 (normally it was over $200 I think!). We bought one and set it up today. It's really cool, it's LED and the lights can either be all white or multicolor - you just push a button to switch back and forth between white & color. My old tree was 6 feet tall and we have 8 foot ceilings so it was a bit short and looked puny, the new tree is almost as tall as the ceiling and looks really nice. I'm resting up a bit and then am going to put the ornaments on! Oh, and it was snowing today too so it really feels christmasy today. :)

We have always put ours up in time for my Dads birthday 10th Dec. Since being married we have kept to the same tradition..

I survived Black Friday at work today (Barely). Even though things supposedly were calmer by the time I started at 4pm it was still a zoo all day till closing. Our people animals were still in fine form the whole day through. Welcome to the Christmas Season in all the stores!!!!!

we dont celbrate thanks giving here but we celebrate christmas in a big way. its one of my favourite festivals.

I survived black friday too! It was alot of fun this year and my husband and I got alot of great stuff for each other and also gifts for xmas!

I have been watching Christmas movies on Sky every weekend which has certainly got me in the mood! Although the tradition is 12 days, I will prob put mine up next weekend as it is convenient and I can spend time putting them up drinking a nice glass of mulled wine!

Cat-a-Tonic, that's a REALLY good deal! We bought a 6.5ft pre-lit that actually looks somewhat realistic compared to some of the artificial trees but this is our 3rd year putting it up and we already had to replace the lights! We switched from multi-colored lights to some nice clear led ones and I love the look of the clear.

For those of you that worked for Black Friday sales, where do you work? Did you have any really good deals? I was at school all day and didn't even get a chance to look.

Oh, and we're expecting our first snow fall today!! Christmas is coming!

hey KWalker..I can see you are located in Ontario..you know what..I was supposed to be in Ontario at this moment. I had got my study visa cleared for fall session this year at Niagara College....I always wanted to experience christmas with a lot of snowfall...and this was my chance...but just 15 days before I could leave..I was diagnosed wioth Crohn's....I couldnt go :(. This just reminded me of this whole episode...and am feeling so low now.

Aww damn! Niagara College is about a 10-15 min drive from where I live! That would have been awesome if you were to come and we could have got together and stuff. Some winters are better than others, and some can be very disappointing.

Hopefully if your crohns gets better you can come. You'll definitely have to let me know if you do

may be next year...just hope my crohn's get better....and I'll surely inform you buddy.

Biggest sale at my store is the 1/2 price sock sale. It only lasts 6 hours from 5am until 11am. But, everyone seems to go nuts for it and stock up for the year. Most years I really don't see much else so really don't buy much. I work at Fred Meyer owned by Kroger now.

Oh, Kip1- That's how it was when I worked for Canadian Tire! (Any big box retail store for you guys)

Haven't been to Canadian Tire to browse the Christmas decorations yet this year. Bought a few there last year the week before Christmas at a good markdown.

Picked up two more strings of outdoor lights at Costco this morning and finished the outdoor lights on the house and deck this afternoon.

Hi Kip1,
i know it's taken me a while but you asked for a picture of the tree when i put it up.
Well it's been up for just over a week now and only just managed to take a pic.

Aaahh that's lovely hun :) Must admit I am soo excited about getting my tree up this Saturday, will have to ask hubby to help me post a piccie.

Took me ages to get one that would let me post on here. But have more decs around the living room, I'll have to take another one with the lights all aglow :D

Franners that's lovely. Hopefully will be posting pics of my trees on Sunday. Can't wait :)

Putting the timers on the outdoor lights today and setting them to go on tonight, might check out the Christmas trees at the local garden centre

:yoshijumpjoy:Well, today our last gift came in the mail so we have officially finished/wrapped all the gifts this year! I'll try and get a pic of our tree as well

EDIT: Oh, and for those of you who do have a Canadian Tire, they are ALWAYS putting new decorations on clearance. The good ones too!

Thanks. Got some great stuff there on markdowns last year. Zellers may be good this year too as they wind down.

Yeah that's true too. I'm waiting until they get closer to closing to look for some deals.

Here's our tree. It's an artificial tree because I guess they consider it a fire hazard to have a real one in our apartment but this one makes the place cozy :)

We haven't put them up yet. We always wait until after Thanksgiving because I like to do one Holiday at a time.
My wife is a Christmas nut and our boys have called her a Christmas mom on crack since they were little. They're in thier 30's now. She just bounces around the house with her Christmas songs playing and chases the grandkids around and just acting like a little kid. I play the part of Scrooge just so she can get all excited and she recruits the grandkids to get after me. I act all baa-humbug, but I love it.

I just found this picture of our dog under the tree last year. As I said earlier in the thread, he's too lazy to do any damage to it lol

KWalker I love the tree. Your dog looks like my little Alfie.
Will get some pics up when I sort out this new laptop.

Got most of the non-tree decorations up (lights in the windows / over mantle, ceramic table top tree), going to look at trees tomorrow at lunch - looking to get an 8' tree this year

Got the tree yesterday, a 9' balsam fir, brought it in the house this morning. The picture is before wetrimmed the top and straightened it in the stand. I had a couple of visitors in the backyard checking out the tree while it was on the back deck.

I'll post a final pic once it is decorated.

We've had our tree up for about 2 weeks now, can't wait to get everybody's presents under there! Our 2yr old german shepherd sleeps behind our tree, cause we put it in "his corner" he's only tried to chew the wires once, but he's more concerned with knocking the baubles off and kicking them across the room :ylol:

Wow Hawkeye, that looks gorgeous! We used to have deer in our back garden but have since moved :( I spent Saturday wrapping all our pressies and making mince pies so I am officially in xmas mode - even had Elf on the TV yesterday :)

All these picks are lovely everyone. I am so gonna get my pics on when I get my camera sorted. I got a new one last year & don't seem to get as good pics out of this one.
My last decorations going up at the weekend as I haven't been too well this past week.
My daughter get the keys to her new house on Wednesday so will have more room to move when she leaves home with all the things we have been storing for her & I can get my other tree up then.
It will seem odd not to have her home to open her presents Christmas morning, but knowing her she will be here early anyway & she is coming home with her boyfriend for Christmas dinner.

Angrybird and KWalker - trhanks, managed to get the lights on last night. I'll post again once we get the decorations finished - focusing on gifts to mail and cards tonight.

Thanks hun! The little piglet is doing very well - he has become such a wriggle bum! Hubby can now feel him and see my belly move and change shape at times :)

That is so awesome and so very happy to hear your little one is doing wel!!! God is good! Let me know when the time comes plz!!! Thanx! Teresa LOVES!!!:heart::heart:

Not a decoration related post, but a heartwarming good news story:

They interviewed this guy on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's As it Happens show tonight about a book he wrote about his experiences as an "advisor" to Santa

Podcast of the interview (in the third part of the show) should be up tomorrow (Friday) at this site -

Thanks. We did the decorating in two nights - one nightt for the lights, one for the decorations. We skipped the beads and ribbon this year - thought that would be too much of a draw for the toddler.
