I had my CT scan on Monday and I had my colonoscopy today. Both were fine as far as my Crohn's is concerned. However, there were a few things that showed up on my CT results that I wasn't exactly thrilled with, but it isn't really anything that is going to bother me. But, considering my family history, I may bring it up with a PCP next time I go for a check up. You know, once I find a PCP out here in Pittsburgh.
Firstly, they found a 1.6x1.8 cm corpus luteum cyst on my right ovary, which my doctor thinks may be the source of all the pain I've been having lately. Yay :/ It is something that happens every cycle, it's physiological and totally normal, but, it was just noticeable in the CT. It is not uncommon for me, either. In fact, the first time I went to the ER for Crohn's related pains, they said a cyst had ruptured on my right ovary. My right ovary is a mischievous little bugger. Nothing to really be concerned about, though, and my doctor said that we could always do some ultrasounds if I still get lower right quadrant pain.
They found a small...something on the upper pole of my left kidney. Probably a cyst (statistically, it is the most likely explanation because apparently it was way too small to classify. Only 4mm). This one isn't worrysome, but, I may bring this up with a PCP just because my grandmother has kidney issues.
The other thing they found that didn't thrill me was a 5mm nodule in the right lower lobe of my lungs. They think that it is likely residual from a previous infectious/inflammatory disease due to my age, but, since my grandmother also has heart and lung issues, I'm going to bring it up to a PCP.
None of this really bothers me all that much, but, I'd still rather find a PCP out here in Pittsburgh and let them know the results along with my family medical history. And, at least the nodule is impetus enough to get me to quit smoking for good.
