My Crohn's disease is concentrated in the lower part of the colon. I also have some minor erythema (inflammation) in the anal canal. After a BM I usually have some leakage. Its much better than it used to be, but still there 95% of the time.
As of yet, I have not had an abscess or fistula (knock on wood). Is this considered peri-anal crohns? Thanks guys.

PS - I hate Crohn's.

Yep, that would most likely be peri-anal Crohn's but ask you GI if you would like to know. Is that your only problem or do you have active disease higher up in your intestines. I have Crohn's Colitis with peri-anal Crohn's. It's like, my disease is only located in the colon but it's most concentrated and at it's worst in my rectum, thus peri-anal.

Yep, Jeff and I must be Crohn's twins, I have same diagnosis. It's hard for the doctors to diagnose sometimes when it's the rectum/anal area-it can be confused with ulcerative colitis. However the anal leakage, skin tags and anal fissures as well as fistulas are the hallmarks of Crohn's.

Yay for skin tags, anal leakage, and anal fissures!!! Ain't this disease pretty? I know now that I have a stoma too, I feel pretty damn sexy!! lol

We need to start the peri-anal Crohn's club...lol
