Good evening! I'm new to this forum. Looking for advice on how to find the best doctor for specific things.
My 15 year old daughter with Crohn's underwent a resection surgery last October. While surgery supposedly went well with no complications, she has already developed a stricture at the anastomosis. :( She is doing ok but has recently had a few bouts of pain and nausea so I fear we will be back in for a procedure or surgery sooner than we'd like.
GI said an endoscopic balloon dilation might be next step - although it sounds risky since they couldn't even get past the ileum/anastomosis in her follow-up colonoscopy because of the stricture/ulcer. If we are looking at this possible procedure I want someone who is very good at these kind of procedures and preferably someone who is pediatric focused. At Mayo it appears there are a couple docs but not specific pediatric. I've heard Cleveland and Boston are great, but how do I find particular doctors who specialize in this procedure other than searching through the doctors on each website? We are willing to travel anywhere in the US if there is someone who is highly experienced. Any advice is appreciated!

Mass General in Boston has a specialized department. I was researching there for a second opinion on my anal structure.

Dr Nagle's bio seemed promising.

Good luck!
