Wtg Sarah!! What an amazing young woman - and so inspirational!!
...you don't fart every time you take Grace's photo do you??? :rof:
Sarah is heading home this weekend as are we so Matt's solitude will be well and truly shattered plus Sarah is bringing the boyfriend home...Mr. Kat! put that shotgun away! :ylol: :
My father suggested boyfriend would like to help with milking.
The tomatoes are still looking fab Hawkeye!
We are just starting to get the first the blossoms now. The plum trees are always first so the magnolia's will be in about another week with their peek being the end of September into October. Just have to pray the frosts stay away!
The vacation was fab, the weather always helps! :sun::sun::sun: Our wood fire is still going and I am so over it come this time of year!
Yikes! I don't want to think about Christmas! I am never organised enough! Hubby and Matt will definitely be here and Sarah said she would be too, so that will be wonderful. I assume her boyfriend will have Christmas with his Mum as she is his only relative in Oz.
I am sorry to hear about your kids. Christmas can be both a difficult and sad time for many people. I so hope things work in your favour this year......and I hope the stomach flu packs its bags and walks out that door quick smart!
Hating the thought of going back to work Dusty.
G'Day.
Still plugging along down under. Things have been pretty hectic of late and there is no rhyme or reason as to why, all I know is I have a shit load of catching up to do on the forum!
Sarah has had a rough week, , bless her. Had the mother of all migraines and of course i went into overdrive on the worry front! Ugh! Main reason being that these buggers of things were a part of her pre remission Crohn's, doesn't take much for me to be thinking Crohn's! Anyway in the wash up of it all it seems there is likely a very plausible explanation. I won't go into detail, for personal reasons, but suffice to say it had to do with stopping something. Many a woman out there may well know the answer! It goes without saying that I hope more than anything that it continues to settle.
I love Spring and it is starting to show itself! The only thing I hate about it, well two things actually. Firstly it is always a stressful time of year because it is the lead up to the end of the university year and I can see the strain it is taking on the kids. :voodoo: Secondly, the magpies start to swoop! Ugh! For the next 6 weeks or so I will spend my time scanning the the skies for the dive bombers from hell!
Nothing nicer than watching the Rosella's have a feed. Those black and white wings in the middle belong to a dive bomber from hell!...
Watchful Dusty. :shifty-t:
@Teresa. I do love Autumn too and after the Summer it surely is a welcome change! Now the magpies, yep, they swoop down and attack your head! and boy oh boy can they leave a nasty gash. We have a particularly aggressive one that lives across the road in a huge pine tree. When Sarah is up here visiting she won't go out to the car on her own in daylight hours! :ylol:
@Catherine. I will! I usually carry a big stick and look like a crazy woman waving it around above my head! :rof:
Demented Dusty.
Hmph, unfortunately Catherine is right, they are a protected species. What about me though!
We do have tarantula's here Amanda and all sorts of other freaky spiders! The biggest spiders we have where I live are huntsman. I don't mind doing battle with them, it's the snakes I hate! Ewwww. Some people hate that you kill snakes and spiders but I say better them than me!
Dusty.
I don't have a problem with it mind. I think what I am having trouble getting my head around though is, at that age the last thing on my mind was a serious relationship and how the hell did I produce such a traditional kid from an unwed union! :rof:
Well the weather sure has been topsy turvy this week. We have had the most glorious spring days of late. Beautiful sunny days and mild temperatures, no need for a fire! That was until last night...first it was rain, then sleet, then sago snow and finally I awoke this morning to snow!...
It was falling heavily where I live but it didn't settle much. A little further up the road though the falls lasted longer and did settle on the ground...
...in the next couple of days we are supposed to be back where we started! :yfaint:
Matt has finished uni for the year so now has 4 months off! Good golly Miss Molly! :ywow: Just wish they offered some decent courses in the third trimester but alas it is not to be so a long holiday it is for him. Hmmmm, maybe I am just a teensy bit jealous!
Sarah will finish at the end of next week but has picked up a unit to do over the Summer break so will start up again in January.
Since Sarah was doing uni part time for the last two years and Matt started uni part time in Year 10 they will both finish their degrees this time next year. YAY! Roll on financial independence! I won't count my chickens before they are hatched though because an Honours year has already been mentioned by both. Mind you if Sarah gets married then...:ylol: I don't mind though, as long as they are well I don't give a toss about anything else! :soledance:
Dusty.
No way! Did you guys get pictures?
Brrrrrrrrr. Probably an average Winter in the great white north! :ylol:
Dusty.
From the photo this looks like a moderate amount of snow and a lot of wind to make a drift against the garage.

Yes I took the avatar pic. It is a weeping cherry in our front yard.

My pleasure Farmwife!
Well it's going to be a big weekend in our little town, starting today, and I can't wait! Yeehaw!!!...
...It's the Thunderbolt Festival and the Turkey Run! Time to kick back and enjoy the festivities.
Happy Dusty.
