Hey I'm really suffering with extreme nausea just now no medication works, I can barely stand the sight of water let alone eat, I have prob had a days worth of calories this week. My gi isn't listening me I just feel so sick even when I open my mouth to talk.

What do you guys take for nausea. I'm at a lose end. I've tried ginger ale as well.

Thanks

I think you need to go to the hospital. You will become dehydrated if you cannot even take in water. To me, severe nausea is just as bad as severe pain and should be addressed.
Are you taking medication that may be causing nausea? Are you vomiting?

MicheleM is right - you may need to get some IV fluids and nutrients into your system if you're unable to eat or even drink water.

I agree with the ER idea. For my severe nausea, I take Zofran, Phenergan, and Emetrol. I also use ginger mints or gum. Ranitidine can also help with nausea. A big part of your nausea could actually be from dehydration- this definitely worsens nausea. You might want to get checked for gastroparesis, gastritis, pancreatitis, h. pylori, and have your inflammation markers checked.

I take 8mg of Zofran for severe nausea but if you are unable to even hydrate and if you are throwing up you should consider the ER.

Hi guys the nausea has eased slightly today I had been have problems passin a bm but ever since late last night my bowel has been going crazy and I have been having several lose bms and it has helped, do you think it could of been a partial blockage?
I have been able to face a bit of food and fluids today but I am now run down with a cold too!
I know my liver functions have been very high the last few weeks and my gi has stopped my 6mp yesterday but he didn't seem to listen to me when I was telling him about the sickness and the pain.
Now that he has taken me off 6mp I am now longer on any oral medication apart from vitamin supplements and infliximab is due in 4 weeks. Thanks for all the advice

Sounds like it might have been a partial blockage, with your description of the loose bm now, and easing nausea. A blockage will draw a lot of liquid to the bowel to try to move it along. Get plenty of liquids, especially clear, salty broths to maintain a good electrolyte balance. Be cautious with solids. Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.

Thanks Michele the nausea has really eased today stomach is still quite sore tho. Going to call the gastro nurse on Monday and send if they can bring my infliximab forward no been able to drink more today just wish this cold would go as well!
