I have two 5cm "pedunculated" fibroids, growing on the outside of my uterus. One is on the back of my uterus, and the other is on the front. It wasn't a shocker since I've had at least one for a year and a half now. Although it did grow in size slightly.

My gyn doc asked me if I have any pain and I told him I always do. This sounds stupid, but I can't tell which pain is which, if it's from Crohn's, the fibroids, or some combination. I have pain in different spots in my abdomen since my Crohn's is in the TI, the ascending, and the descending colon. But I wonder if some of that could be the fibroids too.

My gyn wants to check them again in 6 months . That's all fine and dandy. But I can't help but wonder if I had them removed if it might get rid of some of my pain. Although I don't want a surgery if I don't need it.

So can anyone share any stories with me? Has anyone been through this? Is the pain different than Crohn's pain? Is it worth it to have them removed or should I just wait and see?

A few years before being diagnosed with Crohn's, I was also diagnosed with PID and cysts. There were two bouts of the cysts I can remember. The GYN told me it was because they exploded. After ultrasounds, they couldn't find any reminents of them. Who knows if it was the beginning of my Crohn's or really PID/cysts.

It's hard for me to tell if I'm having cramps or if it's my illeum. After a recent SB Series, I found out that my illeum likes to hang out with my uterus. Which is GREAT news for me, since when one thing cramps, they all do. This does explain why my time of the months are horrible w/ BM's.

I had a large fibroid inside my uterus and I had cramping very similar to Crohn's cramping-my OB/GYN said the fibroid aggrevates the Crohn's. Apparently our body's immune system knows it shouldn't be there.

The fibroid grew to cantelope size and began to lay on my kidney, which was excruciating-unfortunately when I complained about heavy cycles, cramps, etc my previous OB/GYN thought I was being a drama queen and didn't keep up with it-I ended up needing a hysterectomy at 32. It was totally uncalled for!

So ladies-I tell you my story not to freak you out but just to say please keep up with your OB appointment, etc-I know it's easy for it to get lost in the shuffle with all the other stuff we go through.
