I'm wondering about J being on 6-MP and getting the flu shot. It has been about 4 weeks since she took her last prednisone. How long after pred should she wait?

Should other household family members avoid the nasal flu spray due to it being live? Does their taking it put her at risk?

DS the flu shot in 6-mp
Remicade and now humira
Our Gi recommends it .

No flu mist at the house for us .

^^^ same here.

DS got his flu shot while on Aza and about three weeks after finishing pred. I'd like to say he was fine, but in reality ten days later he was hospitalized with a flare/fistula/abscess. Related?? No clue.

GI said no one in the household should get the mist. Even some of his closest friends took the injection.

Vaccines should be fine as long as they are not live. Live vaccines would be dangerous for an immunocompromised patient.

I was told vaccine is okay, but definitely no live nasal spray for family members either.

Ella has the flu *** too. Our drs arranged a children's flu vaccination clinic, and luckily when I confirmed Ellas appt, I found out they had booked her for the nasal mist with a bunch of other children all having the live nasal mist!! Not impressed!!

Ditto for us, we all get the shot every year now, have not had any problems with it.

My daughter is on 6mp and has just had her flu vaccination. When we went the nurse mentioned the nasal one, but knew my daughter couldn't have it as it was live. I didn't know about anyone else in the household not having a live vaccine, so that's useful :).
