Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

Yes Sandy, about 50/50. Better than yesterday. Now my poor hubby has it. Can't even get out of bed. He gets it worse than me when it's a stomach thing.Thanx for asking though. No church today. Watched some on TV. Taping another show.
How are you today???

I worry when it is a stomach thing for IBDers. This is an order, no
IBDers to get other stomach ailments, or their family members.
I came home half way through church (but ours is three hours long) because I can't stay awake. (I slept last night). A funny thing happened at church. The program's theme said something about helping the lonely, and in my half dazed state I thought (just for a second) that it it said something about helping the looneys! I hope I didn't offend anyone. It is just a statement that I am on this forum too much.

Hi Sandy!
Ate scrambled eggs and toast and now tummy hurts again. Still feel drained and tired. But better than yesterday. We are out of everything. Mike actually (bless him Lord) got up and is in the dazed state of this virus and is running to the store. He knows if he wants to eat, someone has to go. I just cant yet. still too sick. Am making soup later out of broth I saved in the freezer and meat from roast. This forum does hook you in, doesn't it/WE KNOW!

By the way, I said I would be back and read this whole thread. I now think it should be named "Last One Wins II." I'm going back to the familiar (no offense to the starter of this thread.)

Yes we do need a theme on here - mind you it sounds a bit like the cookery channel

Er..... no

Scrambled eggs,
toast
Tuna pasta
Roast chicken

that's about me done.

This could be the sports thread ' Steelers are sinking faster than..... well...steel'

Mark my words and I'll eat crow if necessary, but they will win next week!!!
I have a recipe for Legunes and greens.:)

Now you just know I have no idea what that is!

Beans and greens with garlic and olive oil and onions.. You being the healthnut, I thought you would. You cook beans in crockpot till done and in pan cook onions and garlic in olive oil add white wine and then add cooked beans and salt and pepper.:)Then add greens (Kale or spinach or escarole chopped)Cook till greens are wilted down.Even you could manage that.

Me too. I would get it done, but Doug is overloaded on errands out of the house because I can't do any. Maybe I will just accidentally drop it so we have to get a new one?

Love to send you a laptop, but can't afford the postage---sorry!!
Another problem too---I don't have a laptop either ! Very sad...
It is a lovely day though with nice sunshine and pleasant temperatures

:ysmile:Trysha, don't worry. This list is what Robert is buying us. I want one too. (A laptop.) Sanni, everyone is invited to a Christmas eve party at my house in Utah, including you. Robert is footing the bill for airfare also.

Then we will be there for sure Sandy. Discussed it with Mike tonight and he said if we could afford it, he'd be game:wink:.
So, ok Robert, send us some cash now so we can reserve our tickets and we'll be eternally grateful!
:ylol2:
PS, I'd never pull your hair again!

Sanni,
Read your story, thankyou for sharing it!!! Hope you stay well now! Humira is working very well for a friend of mine who only has 6 in. of intestine left.

Look Sanni - it's not happening - but I could send you a balloon perhaps! I need people on my side of course.

6 inches? That has to be really hard to cope with. :( Humira has been good for me. I have 2 other friends with crohns that are having good results with Humira. I hope it keeps your friend in good shape too.

Yes, she has been thru so much as you have too. But, she keeps her chin up and works a fulltime job at a factory here and I don't know how she does all that she does. She's amazing. She goes to my church.

Well Eeyore liked balloons (Winnie the Pooh) -OK you can

Draw on it
Play football with it
Make it fly around the room
Ping it at someone
Fill it with water
Pop it to shock someone

Come on Sanni!!!!!!

I don't know how she can manage. She must have very strong spirit to keep herself going. I am doing 4 hours a day now and it seems to work ok, but sometimes I'm so tired. But its amazing what your body gets used to and can tolerate. 3 years back I never thought I'd be where I am now.

I have to say Robert. You are making the balloon sound like a lot of fun. My dog however is very scared of them.

Now placing my win here---

i heard the odds of winning the lottery,

you have more chance of being struck by lightning while having morning tea with Elvis.

Dogs and cats are better than kids because they eat less, don't ask for money........and if they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

I love my Alfie cos he ALWAYS does as he's told and if I locked him and my husband outside in the snow for an hour or two he would be the only one that was overjoyed to see me when I let them back in

Teresa says her computer won't let her on her computer. Now we know for sure (as if there were any doubt) she is addicted, if she has to pass messages like that.

Yes it's just awful when LIFE get in the way of your laptop.I have to ration myself as my hubby doesn't share my enthusiasm.Even on holiday I wonder what I'm missing, but not out loud of course.I could take my laptop with me,but I think he appreciates my undivided attention occasionally.

Teresa why don't you just say "it's an AGE thing" it covers a multitude of sins and it seems to work for me.And if it doesn't I don't care. It's an AGE thing.........

That was supposed to say computer won't let her on the forum. Eek! sorry Teresa. That is what happens when messages get passed through someone who has language difficulties at times due to my old stroke.

When I first had my stroke Doug had the TV on and I couldn't understand most language (or express it well.) I asked him what the voices on the TV were saying and he thought I was hearing voices.:ylol:
(sometimes you have to laugh)

You know what Sandy - since Carol has been back from holiday she has been very cranky (see previous post to the delightful Teresa) - I think she is trying to take over the position I have worked hard for on here.

Because seriously, it did this, not me. I answered the person and somehow the forums changed or page. Not kidding. It happened before too. I'm old, but not that old!:rof:

It's happened to me too, many times. But you can't use my hole in the head thing! :ybatty::hug:

Now, back to the rat race and pages of paperwork...

:yoshijumpjoy:I don't know what happened! I'm still feeling good after a busy day (well at least good physically. Family had a big scare.) Actually, I think it is because I took myself off of part of my antidepressant. first I took myself off of the depression forum, then I take myself off of a pill, and now I am a lot more normal.

At least normal for me.

Hope you didn't go off an antidepressant all at once??? You will start having pain and headaches in a week or two if you did. You have to cut back slowly. I found out when I went off welbutrin cold turkey!! I was really bad. If it's some other type of med then I'll shut up. Just don't want you to suffer. But i'm glad you feel better!!!:hippy::panda:Love ya!!!

No, I didn't go off cold turkey. I've heard some horror stories about getting off cymbalta, too, and it is a long story, but I tried to go off basically one fifth before. Tried it before and went back on to prove that's what it really is (it is). BUT ... Now I'm exhausted. Foster agency was here almost two and one half hours (didn't have papers ready and Ashley didn't help when she came home. They saw first hand her oppositional defiance disorder characteristics.)
No more exhausted than normal though! Didn't realize I was tired until I just say down, either.

Oh good Sandy,
Not that I'm glad you're tired. I meant the antidepressant. My friend Deb is cutting back and going off cymbalta and wanted to just stop. I told her no way. So she is slowly cutting back. She's done this before and always ends up back on it. It makes her too edgy and angry she said. Also wants to stay at home and not talk to people. I've been there before too.Hope you have a good night's sleep!!!

I knew what you meant. I'm not going off all the way, either. Just don't want to be over medicated. I've got to run, dinner time and date night (Ashley out with staff). Take care, angel lady. sleep well too, my friend.

well I never, the last post on here was almost 9hrs ago.............have you all got bored? Oh well I just wanted to say "you don't NEED everything to have everything"Hope you all over the pond had a good night, and those down under had a good day,the rest of you......just muddle through same as me.

A guy visiting in Hawaii fell asleep on the beach for several hours and got a horrible sunburn, specifically to his
upper legs. He went to the hospital, and was promptly admitted after being diagnosed with second-degree burns.
With his skin already starting to blister, and the severe pain he was in, the doctor prescribed continuous intravenous
feeding with saline, electrolytes, a sedative, and a Viagra pill every four hours.
The nurse, who was rather astounded, asked, 'What good will Viagra do for him, Doctor’?
The doctor replied, 'It won't do anything for his condition, but it’ll keep the sheets off his legs.'
