Hi - I have no idea where to start. I have only recently been diagnosed with Crohn's and feel so lost. I feel like a burden to everyone, especially when I have to go to the ER, which I have done 3 times in the past 2 weeks. AFter reading through many posts, that seems to be a common thing - a visit to the ER. The ER is only good for managing the most god awful pain I have ever felt, but it only comes back twice fold. I keep asking my doc to please prescribe me some pain meds. Ok, they do and its for 5 days. That doesn't work. I was on 100mg of Prednisone a day, now on Entocort (OMG, that broke my pocket book) - been on that for 4 weeks, but no results yet. Still in pain, still in the potty and still missing too much work. The other night, I drove myself to the ER; afraid of waking my husband up AGAIN! With three little one's at the house, someone has to be awake enough to take care of them.

Please help; please encourage and please give me some good news.

Hi & welcome to the forum! I'm afraid that I have not spent time in the ER or the hospital. But, do understand the expense of medications & such. Please check out the sticky above which says: you are not a burden. I know that this sticky has helped me during the times I've needed it.

You have found a great place on here for support and information. Please let me know if you'd like to talk. Take care.

Hi and welcome ckling. We are glad you found us! As someone on here has gone thru what you're going thru now. We are a wonderful community, more like family to lend an ear for venting, a shoulder for crying, advice for meds or similar situations. Just feel free to let us know.
May i ask, what dose of Entocort® you are taking? There is a possibility that if you are on an incorrect dose or have started your taper, that your body is not responding accurately.
I hope your road to remission gets easier. I would continue to communicate to your dr. the need for pain meds, as control of pain can help decrease stress and/or body defenses toward pain( in turn, causing more problems.) Good luck and stay strong! Best wishes and thoughts with you. - hugs-

Hi friend. I feel for you. I can say from experience...the darkness will ighten...things will get better. I will write again when I am less out of it. Please look over the forum...so much info and advice and support for you.
Best.

Best of luck to you. My record is 3 ER visits in 48 hours. Haven't needed a visit in a few years at this point - it will get better with remission. It's frustrating to move amongst meds and not see immediate results, in addition to the side effects, but relief will find you. Hang in there!
