Hi guys! I just found out MsSpaghettio (Melinda) is in the hospital (I'll let Melinda go into detail about what's going on if she wants to).

I know she's mentioned she doesn't have a lot of friends or family nearby her, so I figured maybe some extra well wishes from the forum might cheer her up a little bit. I know it always made me feel better knowing people were thinking of me when I was in the hospital!

I haven't seen her on the forums recently, but I've been keeping in touch with her on Facebook. I'll send her the link to the thread in a private message :)

We're thinking of you, Melinda! :Flower: Get well soon!

Hope ya doin well and back onto the road to recovery soon
hospital is not a fun place

but man do they hav some good Meds lol

Y'all are the best!!!!!!!! Marisa thank you for starting this for me, you are such a sweetheart.

I had a partial obstruction on Thursday night and came into the ER, and I'm still here. They put me on Pred and a clear liquid diet but I'm still having some pain so I think today we decided I need to get surgery. It looks like a about a foot of the ileum that is coming out but they think they should be able to reattach everything fairly easily. I must say I'm QUITE nervous about recovery but I understand that it's pretty much the best option so I guess I'm cool with it. My best friend came in from Charlotte and has been hanging out with me which is nice. It's lonely but I have a lot of time to catch up on reading and bad TV!!

Anyways thanks you guys for the well wishes, I really appreciate it!

<3 Melinda

Aww, Melinda. I'm sorry you're going to have to end up getting surgery, but hopefully it means you will be feeling great once it's over!

So glad your best friend was able to be there will you. It can be scary to go through alone! Keep us updated on when the surgery might be. Glad that you seem to be in good spirits :)

Tomorrow afternoon!! Wooohoo I can't wait to EAT at some point. Last night I had a dream that I was chasing cheese pizza and toasted almonds down the street in a blizzard.

Melinda, I hope you are doing okay. Looks like you aren't too far away from me. If you need some toasted almonds, I'll run some to you! :)

I hope that everything goes well for you so that you can feel better :)

I had a blockage a couple years back and instead of surgery they chose the NG tube 2.5 weeks in the hospital but i was lucky enough to avoid another surgery. I hope everything works out well for you for the path that you and the doctors choose!
Feel well soon :)

Melinda, best wishes for a good recovery from surgery. Take good care! I'm praying for you.

You sound so upbeat and positive :) Glad you're focusing on getting better! Can't wait to hear your next update. Wishing you the best tomorrow!

Yay!! Thanks for all the support you guys!! Everything went well...I'm just sitting around waiting to fart. Getting pretty frustrated that it hasn't happened yet, but I'm making sure to walk and move around and eat all my broth because they said that will help. I still can't wait to eat (thanks for offering the almonds lol!!) A friend of mine brought M&M's as a "goal" and I made her take them away. I figure I can get my own treat once I get out of here.
So I'm gonna do some snooping around, but did most of yall talk to a dietician after surgery to find out what youre supposed to eat after? Everyone just keeps saying we'll see and won't talk about it but I'm like...I need something to look forward to and all I can see is Jello!!! I guess it'll be a lot of Ensure/soup type stuff right when I get home until things toughen up a bit inside me, which is cool. I fully intend to eat cheese fries as soon as I'm better though. Bacon cheese fries. And a Western Omelet.
Well I hope everyone else is doing well...I don't have good access to a computer here and I've been busy with my new job before all this so I'm kindof out of the loop, but I hope all is well and thanks again for the thoughts and prayers!! WAKE UP BELLY!!!!

Sounds like things are going well! :) It couldn't hurt to talk to a dietician about what to eat just so you know what's okay and what's not. And how long you should be on liquids before trying soft foods, etc.

I hear ya on the anxiety. I don't get attacks, but sometimes when I think about something stressful I have to take some deep breaths because I feel my chest tighten. I know it's not my meds because I felt that way when I was only on antibiotics for a while after my New Year's Eve hospitalization. Crohn's can be super stressful. Hopefully this resection will give you years of remission were you don't have to constantly worry about diet, meds, flare-ups, etc. :)
