Had my CT scan today!

So I had my CT scan today. They told me to fast for 4-6 hours before. Luckily I fasted for about 16 hours before. When I got there, they handed me 5 packets of Metamucil to mix and drink to clean me out before the test. Lucky thing I was already 'empty.' They would have had to find a way to attach a toilet to that machine!

I got a cd of all the images from the tech. I've looked at them (not that I know what I'm looking at.)

I'm hoping for good or I guess bad news from this. If he calls and says again that he thinks its IBS I'm going to scream. Maybe I'll just need to wait till I'm off for the summer and eat salads, apples, and popcorn everyday until they can make a darn decision.

You obviously don't have IBS. It's a doctors way of saying they don't know what is wrong. You need to be persistant and keep going back to the doctors and keep telling them how bad you feel.

Have a look at this website below - the differences between Crohns and IBS. Learn it and show it to the doctor if they say it's IBS!!

Oh I've been convinced for months that it's not IBS. some of the other doctors also seem convinced. I just have my fingers crossed that the ct scan shows something.

If not I'll humor him with the antispasmodic medicine for a SHORT while so he can rule out IBS.

If no answer by summertime the. It's green salads and popcorn every day til diagnosis.

Thanks for the update, when should you hear from the doc? Will it be next week or am I overly optimistic? I hope this finally gives you the answers you need :hug:

My next appt. is for Feb 1st. "Unless I need to see you sooner." So your guess is as good as mine. He did say that if the CT comes back normal, he's going to call in the antispasmodics for me to use until my next appt. I'm guessing I'll hear something within the next week.

But believe you me.... I will be calling by Wednesday if I haven't heard anything.

That is so cool that you got a CD of the images....I'm a little jealous!

I agree with others, you have to patient! Things will all work out in the end.

I had a cat scan when I was 8 months pregnant and I have a CD it is awesome because not only do you see my bones and insides but my little ones too!! I will keep this forever!!
