I hope this New Year brings everyone happiness and blessings.
I pray that those who are not in remission find themselves there this year
and those who are in remission stay there!


I will be bringing in the new year sound a sleep in my bed, while my poor hubby watches the ball drop by himself! The older I get the more sleep sounds better than watching a huge ball drop.:rof:

I'm with ya FW!! I may have an extra glass of wine or a beer (two vs. one) and stay up late (10:30 tops) but the new year will come whether I see some stupid ball drop or not!!

BTW, could you imagine standing in that crowd on Times Square for hours and hours, in the dead of winter, rain, sleet, hail or snow, just to watch that!!?? No thanks!! I'd rather go outside and listen to the coyotes howl!!

I have to work till 4ish , then drive an hour to the brothers house for their party, and then work tomorrow too :(
New Years is my least favorite holiday.

Maybe this one will bring is all good luck tho -

I would love to see it in NYC...but my dream is to see it in Australia... beautiful celebration! 15 more hours here! I will be snug in my bed!
 
So my resolution?? To do a triathalon...registration was today for one in August. I am terrified but resolved lol! Any other resolutions??
 
Yep! Lose my baby weight! It's been almost 4 yrs. It's getting a little far fetched when I tell people why I'm fat!:eek:

My hubby does triathlons. Shoes are the key!!!! Different shoes for different events. However you'll have to find someone to meet you at each stop for you to change shoes. My hubby where's the same one!:shifty:
 
Best Wishes one and all,every thing you wish yourselves and families. Eight and a half hours to go here,but I'll prob be in bed at 10pm as usual.A warm cosy bed and a good book beats every thing hands down,especially in mid-winter.A hike and a pic-nic tomorrow.
 
Yes happy 2013 all! Hope we can all stay out of the hospital or as I like to refer to it as the Big House since it is U of M. Be safe I will drink an extra White Russian for each of you tonight. :cheerss:

seven years ago we celebrated new year in Australia then got on a plane to California and celebrated it again there! We almost moved to New Zealand I was offered a job there but when we got there and saw how expensive it was to live there my husband said this is not for us. We then traveled to Australia for six weeks. Debated on moving there instead but it would have taken three months to get a visa to work and we just couldn't afford to do it :( so we ended up comming back to the good old USA. Did not get to tour as much as I would have hoped. We plan to go back someday! Anyway that is our crazy lives. Happy New Years to all. May it be a great one for everyone filled with wealth, happiness, and health for all!
 
Happy New Years everyone. 13 more hours to go to 2013 here. Going to family game night/pajama party.
Everyone wears pajamas or sweats and we play some good old fashioned games, then the kids go upstairs to play video games and the adults sit around and talk and sometimes even sing good old 80's songs while eating fondue and drinking wine.
Maybe a little skiing tomorrow as it has been snowing the last couple of days on and off, although it is only sticking in the mountains - just the way I like it.
 
I'm all for a white Russian, Mary...it's been years for me!!
FW, I love to have different shoes for different events :))), but I am not planning on wearing them to swim...I am fearful enough that I will drown without the added weight! I have an OLD, free bike that I will get spruced up and may spend a bit on a tri suit. Bike shoes are a possibility but not terribly likely...I am c̶h̶e̶a̶p̶ frugal like that.
It's tough to lose with little ones at home...I never kept weight off consistently until I started running last year. I also ate super clean last summer (PALEO) but it's tough in the winter with no farmers markets here. Maybe that's another resolution-to buy double and can/freeze next summer when local and organic are in abundance!
 
I like my White Russians with vanilla flavored almond milk. To die for. Yum already put the bug in my DHs ear to come home bearing gifts of 5ths of liquor.

If we are drinking it was wine and White Russians! Just saying. Goodbye 2012 stick a fork in my I am done. I think soon I will be drunk and have to move over to the rate R thread! Things might get entertaining with my words soon. Be forewarned! Maybe I should put the not a doctor statement in bold for the night!

Kim, a white Russian is Kahlua and milk (or cream). Shaken. Some people add vodka as well.

May all of our little ones find relief this year...and may we push closer to a cure for our kids/finding the cause to prevent future kiddos from suffering. :heart: and if us moms are medicated, booze is more fun then meds. :)
Also hoping that you all take some time for yourselves as parents this year. It took me 5 years as a mom but I had my first overnight trip away from my kiddos this year...it was a blast and I was able to refresh/renew and be a better mom for it. We take so much of the burden upon ourselves and we need to take some time for us as well...sending happy, healing thoughts at you all!
 
Let's ditch Chicago then and have NYE in Sydney!

Just think how warm and balmy it will be for all those living in the northern climes. :lol: We could be sitting outside sipping, or guzzling, a crisp, cold white wine and chowing down on succulent king prawns. Mmmmmmmmmm.
