Hi,

I'm Kathryn and I'm new to this site. I have been diagnosed with Crohns Disease since 1998, had a right hemicolectomy in 1999 and a small bowel resection in 2006. I am currently experiencing quite a bad flare up of disease and hope to start Humira soon as it is the only treatment left that I can try due to allergies etc.

I am 30, married and have two dogs. I enjoy reading, music, games, crafts and lots of TV lol. I hope to get to know people here and look forward to reading posts and hopefully offer some of my experiences.

Kathryn x

Hey and Welcome Kathryn. Isn't crohns a beautiful thing to live with? haha.

What kinds of dogs do you have? I have a miniature schnauzer puppy which is psychotic but an awesome little guy so I'm considering getting a giant schnauzer so he has another puppy that can handle him. lol

You should post pics in our "post pics of yor pets" thread

Hi
I'm new to the site also. And it's the same for me when it comes to meds, I'm on Remicade as last resort due to all my allergies. I will be 30 this month and I am also married. We have one son and two dogs. This forum has been great and I just know you will also benefit from it too! :0)

Hi Kathryn

I'm new here too - just wish this had been here when I was diagnosed in 1986. I hope they sort out your meds so that you start to feel better really soon - Crohns is a really 'crap' thing to have isn't it?
I've got a dog - I share her with my ex and I've got 3 cats that live with me. I hope you post pix of your pets? I'm going to post pix of my lil monkeys.

Welcome Kathryn!

 Hello---so sorry that you are flaring. This is a wonderful site--everyone will give you lots of advice and just knowing there are others out there going thru something similar lets you know that you are not alone! Hope that you get to start Humira soon--and that it will work for you. When I had a colon, I took Asacol, tried 6 M-P, took Azathioprine, Entocort, Prednisone, Flagyl, Levaquin, etc, etc (but not Humira). Humira will work for you! Try talking with some folks on it in the med section. Hang in there until you get to start on it! :thumright: Dana

Hi Kathryn and welcome to the forum. :)

It's too bad about your current flare being such a bad one. I really hope that you can find a way into remission. Are you currently waiting on qualification for Humira? My fingers are crossed for you.

In the meantime, try to relax with music and a good book, and let those doggies provide the therapy you need. Pets are really good for that.

Welcome, once again. I hope to see you around on the forum. Keep us posted.

Hello Kathryn :bigwave: Really sorry to hear you are having a flare and I hope the Humira does the job. Have the docs got you on anything whilst you wait for this to be started? I am on steroids (yuk) and am hopefully going be starting Azathioprine again next week - hopefully no reaction this time around :) My stats are: 26, married with 2 cats and marine fish. Once I get this sodding disease under control we are going to plan for kiddies!!! Welcome to the forum, it is a great place to be :)

NB Thanks KWalker didn't know about that thread, I am soooo getting my kitties on there!
