Don't we all? But today is the worst days I've had in months. I had to use the restroom in my kids' school while dropping them off because I couldn't make it back home. Then I had to drive 45 minutes to work, full of anxiety that another round would hit (luckily, I made it to work). Then the nausea hit and I threw up. At work. In a multi-stall bathroom. I really hate doing that. I just want to go home and go back to bed.

:( That sucks. If it were me I probably would have called in sick. If I'm vomiting, I'm not in any state to work. Kudos to you for having the guts (no pun intended) to try to work though this miserableness!

Can definitely empathise with you, not a nice place to be at all. When I've had days like that I break it down into even shorter bits: only one more hour then it's tea break, then one more hour and it's only another hour until lunch. Then do the same with the afternoon period. It sounds daft and probably is but I find it easier than saying a whole 2 hours until the next break!

Thinking of you and hopin the day flys by as quickly as possible for you too. Is it possible to work near an open window for some fresh air?

Hi Steph! I hope you are feeling better. Nausea has got to be the worst symptom. You are very strong to be able to work through that. Once I start vomiting, I'm flat on my back for a while. Are you going through a flare-up, a stomach bug, or both? I hope you can take some time off of work to rest up.

Oh poor Steph. That's the pits. I'm with you re. the multi-stalls. I used to throw up 5, 6, 10 times daily at work at it was awful. So much easier to manage at home where you have privacy, cold cloths, and so on, but that doesn't reflect reality for you so just take it a few minutes at a time, get back to your desk when you can, and keep on plugging. And...feel better soon! :rosette2:

I'm not sure. I think my Cimzia isn't as effective as it was and I'm flaring back up. Today seems to be going better so far. This time yesterday, I had already been in the bathroom 5 times. Only 2 times so far this morning. I'm eating only rice and toast today to try and settle things down. I'm going out of town to a waterpark resort this weekend and want to feel well for that!

Aw I'm sorry you've been feeling so bad. You are definitely stronger than me for going to work while you're throwing up. I can't even get off the couch when I'm nauseous, let alone actually vomiting.

Whenever I have days like that, I listen to my body really really well. If I think I would feel better after I ate something, I eat something. If I think It would get worse after eating, I do a liquid diet until I start feeling better. My stomach is very good at telling me when it's hungry. Sometimes I get nauseous just from not eating, so eating really helps. Soups, rice, stuff like that.
I hope you start feeling better soon. I know for me, if I have any fun plans coming up, I will start feeling like crap a day or two before. Most of the time I end up not going because I feel so sick. I hope that doesn't happen to you. Get better!

I am sorry to hear you are flaring again, Steph. You joined the forum around the same time that I did, and I remember you were struggling so much then. I was hoping after starting Cimzia you'd do much better.

Have you reached out to your GI? As you said, perhaps Cimzia isn't doing the trick any more. You may need to discuss the next step.

Today ended up going downhill. No pain or diarrhea (other than the usual 2-3 times), but the nausea came back. All I've had today is a piece of toast and bowl of white rice.

I have an appointment with the GI on 9/22. I was trying to hold out until then. I haven't seen any blood since starting the Cimzia, so I'm not in a hurry. If I start bleeding again, I'll probably call and see if I can get in earlier. It sucks to think the Cimzia isn't working. I never quite reached remission, but I got down to 2-3 times a day, no pain, no blood, no nausea for a couple months. Things have just gone downhill since my gallbladder surgery 5 weeks ago. I don't know if the surgery caused a flare, or if everything happening can be attributed to my body adjusting to no gallbladder. If the latter, I would think it would be getting better.

I'm sorry that you are still feeling poorly. I have no experience with Cimzia. I get extremely nauseous when I'm on Flagyl. I have to take Zofran just to keep it down. The vomiting is what is upsetting me. Usually when that happens it's either a viral infection (Noro bug), a bad flare-up, or a partial obstruction (or obstruction). Please take care and see the doctor sooner, if things don't improve in a day.
