I injected my humira shot into my right side stomacha nd idk why but my reflex was to pull back out and the needle came out and it poured off my stomach and a lil went on my bed. how much did i get? i let it warm up for 20 mins so it didnt hurt as bad. so it injected faster. and what do i do now? not going to lie i basically freaked out and started crying and threw shit everywhere, bat shit crazy.

Hey,hard to say how much you get, but it seems you had some.

It happens sometimes losing a bit while pulling back the needle to fast. I and everyone that had been on Humira can tell.

What to do, not much you can do, just paying more attention the next time you inject

If you are on some sort of Humira program (assistance) call the 800 # and tell them, and they will tell you what to do...
My husband just went thru training this past week, and that is what they told him to do incase of a misfire.

The Humira program also has a nurse that you can talk to.. They are really helpful I take humira. My doctors nurse injects it for me as I have a tendency to pull it out you can also ask your doctors nurse if she is willing to do this for you if not talk to another nurse and keep asking until you find the one that will do it for you..

We got a free replacement sent to us once too when the pen misfired and it spilled everywhere. We just called the Humira rep and they were very helpful. The new pen was in the next day.
My son does his shot in his thigh so he can keep it stable and not flinch away from the needle.

That same thing happened to me a little while ago. I'm a big wimp and have had my husband or my mom do my shots from the very beginning. I've been on it since 2007, so that's really pretty pathetic. So about a month ago I decided to be brave and do it on my own. Got it all ready to go, then sat there for like 10 minutes before I finally pushed the silly button. I guess I was so suprised that I actually did it that I pulled it away immediately, stuff squirting everywhere. Then I cried, threw a little tantrum. Called my husband, told him that he has no choice but to outlive me. I had an extra pen already, so I haven't worried about calling for a replacement. But a few years ago I had one that went wrong, the meds didn't come out, and they sent a new one without any trouble. The people at Abbott are always very nice whenever I've had to speak with them.

I stuffed up TWO shots in one morning some months ago, called the My Humira assistance line and they sent me replacements for both (though they took a week or so to arrive). They will also send you a training pen (no needle) to practice your technique with.

You are not alone, it seems quite a few people have this kind of problem at least once.

Ask someone else to stick you could be a option. That way you don't know when it's coming and will be less likely to move, unless ofcourse it's the sound that gets ya. click swoosh
