Hi, this is QuiltGirl's daughter in law. I set up her account a couple weeks ago,
and many of you were kind enough to respond to that thread. I did not alter her settings to disallow emails from members, and she received so many emails telling her about your replies (you people are GREAT!) that it was a trifle overwhelming. If you did not receive a response to your emails either personally or on the site, I apologize; I probably did not explain the site well enough. The moderators deleted the thread upon profile approval, so I cannot go back and contact you all to explain personally. I have reset her profile to disallow emails, as she would prefer to interact only on-site for now. Thank you for understanding. I will tell her about this thread if you would like to try to say hello again.

hi there.... i'm a little confused..

the post count under your username says only one post (the one above) so i can only think that the post you're referring to which had email replies was in the Come In And Say Hi thread, which as explained in that thread, is simply a short-term holding area for new registrations, so that staff can make sure spammers don't get through the door into the main forum.

as explained there, and also in a thread here in the Your Story section, all intro posts get deleted once the new member's registration has been fully activated.

i suspect that the emails your mother in law received were simply notifications that other new members had come into that thread and posted their own intros, before we had chance to delete Quiltgirl's intro post.

if you or she would like to post her story in here, that would be great, and then our members could welcome her properly.
