He's starting Tamiflu. Please tell me this will work. He can't miss his 2nd start up infusion on Friday :( He had the flu shot the first week of September. He's never had the flu or strep. I just don't know what to expect.

Awe I'm so sorry for you :(
I have no advice, just sending best wishes that he gets better in time!

Tamiflu is great and works. The faster you start it the better it works. Wishing him a speedy recovery!

Oh no! Sorry to hear he's so sick. Tamiflu is good stuff! One year me and one son had the flu and stayed in bed for over a week. We didnt get to the doctor soon enough to start Tamiflu. My other son got sick a few days later and was diagnosed with the flu and strep and started Tamiflu. The next day he was running around and was feeling fine. Hope Tamiflu works as well for your son.

Hoping he is feeling much better before Friday, I have heard wonderful things about Tamiflu.

Wishing a very speedy recovery for him

Both of my sons took tamiflu with H1N1 due to asthma concerns.
My oldest was sick about three days and fine mostly asthma wise- a little worse than a cold but ok.
DS got bad really fast even with tamiflu. He was immediately put on pred for his asthma and we were on daily calls with the allergist. It took him over 5 days to get to being just sick and 10 days to get better.

Hope he feels better soon....my daughter has been sick all weekend - running 99.5-101.5 temp.....hoping I don't get what she has but not making any bets!

If both meds (Tamiflu and antibiotic for strep) work well then my guess is they will OK the infusion next Friday.

I would expect they will want him fever free for at least 24 hours and to have been on antibiotics for several days.

I would be sure to call tomorrow and let them know what's up. And they may want to move the infusion to early the following week.

It would probably be better to do that than risk a very serious infection.

I'm so sorry to hear about your boy...

How is he doing now?

He's weak but I believe that's more from all the hospital time. His chest is terribly congested though. Unfortunately his symptoms are returning. He's had the burning pain, nausea and showing blood once again. Praying its just a slow start because he is so sick.

If its close to his infusion time as in a few days before its due that was typical for DS during the induction period.
Hope the infusion goes well friday
Hugs

Did the infusion go ahead Twosons?

Thinking of you guys and hoping your boy is on the mend.
