So, I let it slide under the radar.....:lol:.....had a birthday earlier in the week.....got to work overtime on the 4th of July...yay me.....had an awesome seat for fireworks (as in EYE LEVEL, had to duck a few time to avoid being hit!!!.....YES - part of my JOB!).....

Worked on my birthday itself.....the next day woke up with a sinus headache which only got worse through the day...by the time I left work I was having chills...got to my Mom's and took my temp - 100.7.....UGH.....was going camping that night!!!.....still headed out, sat at the campfire for about 20 minutes before hitting the bed...woke up Friday feeling like CRAP.....Slept like crap Friday night and ended up at urgent care Saturday morning to get meds for a sinus infection. Thankfully by Saturday evening I was starting to feel a bit better (thanks to Advil, Amoxocillan 825 and NyQuil!!!)

Came home today, the stuff coming out of my sinuses would make a baby's diaper look clean!!!!!.....but still feeling a bit better.....

Not that I'm complaining too much for a screw up - BUT - according to the Dr script as far as I can tell, I was supposed to get Amox 500mg......looking at the bottle I have 825???.....

Right side is still all stuffed up, feel pressure but at least I don't feel like I was hit by a truck!

Oh...other 'good' news...got my last bloodwork results from Monday the 3rd, my Glucose was high at 130! WTH??????? Might have to watch what I eat a day or two before my next infusion and see how things are then.....ugh.....

Only really good news.....I probably lost a couple pounds since I haven't really felt like eating all weekend!

Oh my word Lisa!!!!!! I'm so sorry about this wonderful birthday present you got. :( And, WOW 825mg instead of 500! I'm surprised you're still standing with all that in you. But, glad that you're feeling better. Lots of hugs are being sent your way.

Usually I don't have adverse reactions to antibiotics.....HOWEVER - this morning the big D.....I figure what harm is done.....no sense changing the dose at this time.....now, of to get ready for work...need to get the camper awning closed up as it is looking a bit breezy out there!

Forgot to add, my nose (mucous membranes) broke out in sores over the past couple days!!!!!

I've had this happen before, but never documented if it was before or after starting medication such as amoxicillin or penicillin.....

My GP's office just called back and they want to see me to take stock of things...so heading out of work early today to do that.....ugh...the saga continues!

I'm sorry you're having a crap time Lisa.Talk about kicking you when you're down !!! :sign0085:

I hope you start to feel better soon....And a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.:thumright:

Feel better... and move further from fireworks next time.

Thanks...and lol.....not too much of a choice.....it's my job.....might even start moonlighting with a fireworks company if I can figure out the whole ethics deal with my full time job.......

Hi Lisa
Sorry to hear you have hit hard times...sinus infections are the worst and can be difficult to clear
Are you sure that the prescription you were given at the drugstore is correct....is it the right medication as prescribed.
It is unusual for antibiotics to be dispensed in less than even dosage....perhaps you should check with the senior pharmacist at the drugstore.Mistakes can happen.
Also if you take such a high dose of antibiotic it may lead to antibiotic associated diarrhoea..
Not something to have
Feel better soon

Thanks Trysha - I've actually been taken off the Amox and put on a Z-pack.....hoping that is strong enough to clear things out. Pain in the nose (literally!) is the sores...making it hard to blow my nose as it HURTS!...still have yukky brown crap coming out now and again, in between clear discharge. Feel pretty crappy and generally run down too...today, have the starting of a headache again.....hoping it goes away soon!!!!!

I know what it's like to have cold sores in the nostril. Not nice at all.If I get a head cold, they're a regular thing for me but luckily colds are rare. The outside of my nose gets swollen, shiney red and tight. Not pretty but my hubby delights in poking fun.Hopefully this time next week it will be all over.

Facial cold sores I have found putting toothpaste on them helps.....I dont know about inside the nose probably has to take its course.
Hope the Meds help Lisa......
Feel better...

For those who haven't seen this happen.....not the nicest thing! Just took a picture for reference......

Yes,that's it exactly.You poor soul.
Although I've had a few nose ones and more than a few around my mouth,it never occurred to me to go to the docs.I just thought I had to get on with it.I certainly will if I'm unfortunate enough to have nasal ones again if you think anti-bis are helping ?

scottsma - the antibiotics are for the sinus infection, what might help (and of course I can't find mine!) is an anti-viral creme such as Zovirax - the sores are like a cold sore - so the herpes simplex virus is most likely to blame.....

Thanks Lisa.I did read that's what they were for in your earlier post.I will get some zovirax for the future but hopefully it will be out of date before I need it again.
