Hugs to you too Mandy. Hugs to all of you.
Hope everyone is wellChris are you a knifemaker? There are two groups, stock removal and forging. I made knives using stock removal since the 1980's. Never tried forging though. I make very few now, and the problem is all my neighbors want more of my work, and it becomes discouraging when I have to decline their requests. I cannot stand in my shop for very long, but it was (is) a very satisfying craft that requires patients and a steady hand. I have lots of patients, but my hand is not like it used to be.
Hope everyone is well
Feeling goodRon im good thanks ..hope you are faring better!!☺[emoji179]

Yes, I do make knives, (it's very satisfying to build a nice blade). I have tried both methods, stock removal and forging, I prefer forging. I like the creativity it gives me. I also make some tools and assorted custom pieces to suit any particular need, I've been doing this kind of thing since I was a teen. I'm actually really into metal fabrication, welding, casting, forging etc.
My great grandfather was a blacksmith, so I guess it was a natural progression for me. I always worked with either metal or wood, metal being my favorite. I wound up learning more metal work and welding techniques in technical school for auto body repair. As well I worked in the automotive industry for several years and as an apprentice sheet metal mechanic after that. After work for fun... you guessed it... more metal fabrication projects. Also I made fun stuff for souped up trucks or outdoor gear of some kind.
I have really been missing having access to a forge, so I decided to make my own. Just because I can.
Beautiful pic! Who is that gorgeous man? [emoji6] Glad you guys had fun [emoji4]Honeys, we're home! We got skunked, didn't catch a fish between us. I don't feel too badly, though, because out of the 17 entered in the tournament, only four caught fish. Also, we got to enjoy a beautiful dessert reservoir with nice clear water, (and learned a lot about bass fishing for the next tourney. ☺)
What's the difference between ignorance and apathy ?
I don't know and I don't care.

On another note, I just read this news and I'm quite shocked. This woman was taking humira, doesn't it apply to all immunosuppressants? Huh!

I agreeEven never having met you in person Mandy, I know you would be much easier to deal with then Dave.
One more happy piece of news for us today, we just picked up Casper and I am so happy to see him. He is very happy to see us too. (We had him boarded as I don't think he would be very good in a kayak. :ywow::runaway::ylol2
Yes, Madhu, those compromised immune systems are a little frightening, but like everything else, we have to look at how the benefits outweigh the risks. Hopefully your hubby, and everyone here who takes an immunosuppressant (almost all of you with an IBD), have the major benefits, and little side effect from your meds. Hugs and love to all❣
Hi Ron! :bigwave: How are you doing?
He was more concerned about me than his own feelings about seeing his grandfather die.Doing ok. Bloating. Appreciative of my son.
Hi Chris. Hope you are doing ok. Have you fired up the forge yet ?
Working on it still, I'll keep you posted. I can hardly wait to get it finished.
Crohns is very rarely mentioned in our news, probably never. There was an item on the news last night about an eighteen year old lad with a bag who went into the disabled toilet with his girlfriend. She sometimes has to help with it.The bouncer/doorman bulldozed in shouting, thinking they were up to hanky-panky.When the lad showed his bag the doorman apologised and shook his hand and left. When they came out,the manager gave them a talking to because "he didn't look disabled".The young chap was lovely and so was his girlfriend. They just wanted to put it out, that just because we look well, and he did, doesn't mean we are.......I think some of us have been in that situation at some time or another....:ymad:
Carol...keeping up the act of being ok is hardwork and tiring in itself. As i know only to well..
Though some days i fail in the act but some days i just dont care and be lazy coz i need to be!!
Hi everybody. Thought I'd check in. I'm still in remission and feeling ok overall. My autistic brother is moving back with my sister. This will help Sandy and I and I think it will be better for him. Can't wait for that to happen. I love him but he is difficult.

Given the number of life saving surgeries many of us have gone and soldiered through, this place would be pretty empty. I was annoyed when they woke me up, by restarting my heart with the thumper, but on the other hand I'm glad they did. Life has been quite a ride so far.Your right there bufford. It is not for wimps...
soldiering on with the fight is what we do best. I guess that a few of of us would not be here now if we didnt.
To all the soldiers here keep on fighting. :ghug:
