THank you Chris..
Life’s a bit up: and down at the moment.
Good thing is we’ve lost our snow and the piles of it are melting....
I think it emigrated to England and I don’t think they like it....
Winning....

Good to see you Trysha and thanks for the info.on St.Urho.I was going to ask Buff.but I think you covered all bases.Mandz,I have a list of "crazies"...litter,bad manners, queues, my hubby putting his cup on the furniture despite there being coasters there......no,I'm NOT going to go off on a tangent about hubby and his misdemeanors the page isn't big enough. And Mandy, don't you start with your crazies or the forum will go into melt down

I lived in Thunder Bay for awhile and the first time I heard about St Urhos day I was a bit confused. The city has a large population of Finns, and so does much of the Northwest, and they pronounce it St. Air Hose day. I thought they were talking about an air compressor sale until I stopped in for the festivities.
Trysha, hope your feeling better, I'm doing somewhat better after taking a few days of rest. Sounds like everyone is alive and kicking, kicking one to win.

I quite like it when Mandy gets going! Just my style of insanity.... I wouldn't want her to be any other way! :) Forgive me for being frank when my name isn't.. :)

Now Sandy,it's only one or two days in the rest of your life.I bet you'll both miss him when he's gone...:medal1:

P.S.I hate to say I told you so,but I did didn't I.?;)

I'm alive. How is everybody? I've had a few bad guts days - I am still on my sloooow pred taper, I'm dropping the dose by 0.5 mg once per month. On Friday I went from 2 mg down to 1.5, and that really hit me hard. I had a lot of exhaustion and cramps, but fortunately I seem to be doing better today finally. I'm less exhausted and less crampy today anyway. Life is busy but I'm still enjoying my new job - it's kind of great to get to talk to people about stool samples all day. :p Lily is still doing okay too - she's started limping a bit because of a large tumor in her right armpit/lymph node, but she's still hanging in there and still eating well. It's now been just over 8 months since her surgery & cancer diagnosis. She just started barking in her sleep, presumably chasing dream squirrels. :) I hope everybody is doing okay!

It is great hearing from you Cat. I hope you feel better. Sometimes, Alex barks in his sleep. We ask him if he is chasing rabbits. 😌. The last couple days I have been dreaming about my father. Struggling a little with my stomach. Hope all are well. 😎

Good to see you Cat.We do miss your regular inputs but far better be busy and earning than the opposite.Really happy news about Lily, long may she last.

Oh Carol you are cheeky . ..how very dare you say people wouldnt want to live next door to me. Im only crazy on days ending with a y anyhow :rof:

Trysha glad to see you . Hope you feel better soon. 💞

Cat glad you are still enjoying the new job. Hope you feel better soon too. Go lily 🐾🐾💕

Hi to everyone feel better soon if you dont and keep well if you do :ghug:

Had my GI appointment today. He is ordering a scan. Says he will see me in 6mths and then a colonoscopy 😨 at that point i nearly ran out for the hills. Its the prep not the actual exam i hate with avengence. Oh well that will be 3 holiday days taken n wasted doing that!!
So if they are both clear il still be in remisson ☺☺☺

I hear you, the scoping part is a breeze knowing that I will break the fast and enjoy food. The day before is just not is it? That prep is nasty stuff, but the TV commercial of the giant pizza and chicken sets the tone and puts me into a bad mood. Been doing it now for years and its the same each time, at least the doctor has not found nothing bad, giving reason to celebrate with a good meal and wine.

Those commercials are terrible, aren't they? No wonder kids are too fat when they can walk three blocks to eat three big mac's with large fries and an apple fritter, (or six). LOL I think it's the same as the tobacco, they should just stop advertising it on TV.

I agree....i think its a major contributer to some people being overweight..we dont need to be aware of food. We are aware of it we need it to survive. Many people are easily manipulated into buying products because its advertised. Thus causing an obese population. Also a house full of stuff we never use after buying it.💕
💕

Now with apps etc. they don't even have to walk to buy food. You just sit there in front of the TV press a few buttons on your phone (not mine,I'm a dinosaur) and they bring it to your door.Same with booze, and we even have a dessert delivery in town. You can also have your oven cleaned, ironing done and delivered back, car washed by hand by East Europeans for a fiver, and you can buy your veg already chopped (guilty, arthritis) This and future generation won't be doing anything except ordering stuff online. The saddest thing is,they won't have happy memories of having childhood adventures in real life. It'll all be done technologically.

Some of these conveniences are good, I like ordering online after getting used to it. All my colostomy supplies and some meds are ordered online and come direct to the post office. I can order things and simply pick them up at the front of the store instead of hunting the aisles. I am also like buying CDs on line and can find a lot of rare CDs at a good price.
However, I have to agree society has become too materialistic. I go into McDonalds and order one McDouble a small burger for less than $2.00 go back to my vehicle and enjoy it with water and a banana from home, while others are ordering multiple big Macs, fries and a soft drink so large that it comes in a paper bucket.

I am guilty of ordering from a restaurant from an app sometimes.

Oh Ron,I'm not pointing fingers. We wouldn't be normal if we didn't take advantage occasionally...But you're not an overweight teenager (if that's really you in the photo)....:ylol:

We need some of those Eastern Europeans here, that's not a bad price for a hand washed car. :)

That's UKP Chris.not dollars. You can get a full valet for £15.There's a depot over on the next street, leading to the coast, and sometimes there are a dozen or more cars waiting while six are being cleaned. My hubby cleans ours himself. There is a small general store, what's known as a corner shop.over the road, and apparently, the workers are in and out all day buying wine.Mind you,if I'd been cleaning cars all winter I'd be buying something to keep the chill out too.

Trysha,Kirsty,Trev,Dave,Tony

Come on guys, show yourselves. We're starting to worry now,and you know that's not good for us.:ghug:

Hey Carol , still around , not doing too bad at the moment , hernia is a bit sore and waiting for an appointment with my surgeon to check up on this ,
hope everyone is doing a little better , hugs and good thoughts to everyone,
meanwhile Joey is still nuts
we had to bring him to the vet today as he swallowed a sock that fell out of the laundry basket , the vet recovered it but he’s feeling very sorry for himself tonight
heres a pic of him before his socky snack

He looks sweet,Tony.

Aw joey is so darn cute..🐾🐾 bless him he was only trying to help with the washing.. how was he to know it would have come out dirtier than it went in!!! 😃😃
Glad you are doing ok Tony bar the hernia.. ouch!! 💞

Ron lets be fair we are all most likely to be guilty of ordering online or via apps sometimes. Also to be fair most of us are not always well enough to go and get things sometimes.
Its about moderation common sense and not just getting/eating things just because we can. Im on my feet all day long but on my time off i still like to go walking as i find it chills me out. Most folk think im mad but i would be if i didnt walk in the countryside now n then....
Oh go on then!! il admit i am mad but i dont care :rof:.
Love n big hugs to all you lovely people here. :ghug: 💝💞💕

Doctors appointment today wasn't long enough... I'll be going back tomorrow again. Thank goodness we get along. :) I hope everyone is keeping well.... Tony, your dog is a little sock monster! He is pretty cute though. ;)

A survey was recently conducted to study the effects alcohol has on walking.......

The results were staggering.

Chris I hope things go well with the doctor apt. I may warm up to the idea of doing my grocery shopping online, and then simply stop at the store and pick up the items should I feel to weak to go shopping with the cart through the store. For a price they will deliver, but its doubtful delivery will be possible way out in the booneys.

I read a story about on-line shopping a while back.A woman doing her Christmas shop ticked the box for sprouts, indicating, she thought, that she wanted one pre-pack.And they sent one sprout, carefully wrapped and tucked between the carrots and potatoes.
I've also heard of some weird substitutes being sent too.Like a sponge pudding in place of a bath sponge.

Thanks everyone, you people make me smile. :) I really appreciate all of you.

Things went fairly well at the doctors office, it took a really long time. However, we managed to complete my medical forms...for now at least!

Not many, (except maybe drug abusers or criminals) would ever claim disability for the money, trust me. Actually, you are better off washing cars by hand. That is, if you can stay off the hooch while doing it! ;)

Sandy has Dave re-located ?...:dusty::dusty::dusty:

Sorry Doug,I know he's your much loved brother.....:thumright: :medal1:

Chris, that is a good step forward, and if you can get a firm diagnosis it would help your case greatly than not having one. The CPP people will look for any excuse to dismiss your application in an effort to wear down the applicant. Once you establish your case it would be wise to find a lawyer through Legal Aid. They are very good at these kinds of settlements and only ask for a donation as payment. Pm me if you need any help.

My doctor is as sharp as a tack, and has experience with this process. Mine is provincial, it isn't nearly as bad a CPP application. There is no way I, (or most others in legitimate need) could qualify for that. You are very right they make it rough, hopefully I wont need a lawyer. I'm being cautiously optimistic.

I'm happy to be here doing things, (painting another door for now) around the house today. I think a grocery trip is in order as well. I hope everyone is having a good day... Cheers!

Chris hope everything goes smoothly for your claim. Here in the UK they make so hard to claim. You have to be pretty much unable to do nothing for yourself to get anything. Iv looked at the claims forms online before and it asks things like can you walk a hundred yards without help or having to rest. Can you make a cup of tea or can you use a toilet or bathe unaided. I mean its crazy you need to be like totaly incapacitated to get a penny. Its time the government relised you dont have to be completely unable to do the basics in life, but to be disabled enough not to be able to work due to how much pain you are in and how many times a day you aree going to the toilet. Or that you may not even be able to get to the loo without soiling yourself on route..
Yet i know of people on disability benefit who seem far less disabled than i was when i was in flare. How do they do it????.
Rant over. Love n best wishes to all ☺☺💕💝 :ghug:

CPP worked out well in my case as it seamlessly transformed from a disability benefit to that of a retirement pension, and allowed me to draw from my employers retirement plan.
It was not easy, I was denied 3 or 4 times. I kept adding more evidence to my case including the time I mentally broke down on the job, I think that one was the clincher that won my case including my age. Otherwise I basically told them that I had to go through the rest of my life with a porcelain throne glued to my butt.

That time again, Kiwifruit season, we are away again for 3 months while Debs packs kiwis, car started making a strage noise, spent all day replacing a wheel bearing, so pleased i am no longer a mechanic, dont miss getting covered in grease.i hope everyone is doing as well as can be exspected.

Aww, Tony, Joey is adorable, sock eater that he is .... My two cents worth, I love online shopping when I can. .... My two cents worth on disability, I think they make it so hard to get on (in virtually any location) that out of those who truly need it, half or more give up while some who are borderline and have more fight in them are able to get on.
Trev, nice to see you. I wish kiwis weren't so expensive artound here. Dave, can't wait to hear about that forge when it is done.

Dave is still here, turns out that bro-in-law who was going to come get him got pneumonia so we were going to bring him down, and now our vehicle that would be able to haul a Uhaul trailer for his bedroom furniture and stuff is temporarily in the shop. We'll be leaving Wednesday (assuming vehicle is done like it should be) and coming back Friday.
Im so behind on housework and laundry, better get going. Be happy everyone! :ghug:

As soon as I finish mine, Ron, I'll be over. Turned into a two day job as we decided to go to a movie instead of finishing.:p

Hoping to go to a funeral service at the local church soon.Dickie,a neighbour, was 97.....BUT !!! I have trouble getting out before late morning as a rule, and the service is in half an hour.I really want to pay my respects, but I don't want to have a problem half way through the service....Hmmm....Bloody crohns.

Hope you enjoyed the movie, Sandy. Carol, I hope you made it to the funeral. The dermatologist froze a bunch of precancerous spots on me yesterday. Hope everyone is well.

Had a time out at the cabin and had a good visit for a change. Nothing like sitting close to the woodstove watching some old videos in cozy comfort. Went out later for a walk on the lake in moonlight, and it was quite bright for a half moon. Won a round for a change.

Ron I really hope your results are good. You seem to be having one problem after another lately.Buff.it's good to hear you had a bit of "me" time.It restores the soul.Do you take cat with you ?....Didn't make funeral.Had shoes on and coat at the ready. Was invited to the wake afterwards and although I felt better by lunch time (as I knew I would) I didn't want folk to think I was just there for a freebie.

Now,those of you who know me know that I don't follow any religion.Nor do I (we) celebrate Christmas in any way except to send a few cards to special people.Easter is the same. It's nice to spend time with family,if you have them, but religious festivities are just that.A special time for those who believe.
In todays paper there was a whole page on what's available for this coming religious weekend.....Choc eggs, decorations, easter crackers, easter trees, easter stockings, easter wreaths and garlands. The transition from the Nativity to the Crusifixion is seamless.Shops whose businesses are failing now regard Good Friday as Good for business Friday. It has become a soulless tradition that gets nastier each year.Add to that gridlocked roads with 10ml tailbacks....Happy Easter friends.I shall be at home with a good book.

Hi all . Im still in the land of the living tho had a rough couple of days Sunday n Monday. Even had to leave work 3hrs early on Sunday. Felt like shite( pardon the pun as that was part of the issue that i went home). Toilet visits aplenty😦. Feel back to normal today...what ever normal means☺

Love to all :ghug:💝💞

Trysha, I'm getting very concerned about you. I know you've alluded to more health problems lately, but please at least say you are around and will post more later if that is all you can do at present.
I hope you are feeling better now that you're closer to your porcelain throne too, Mandy, and can at least put your feet up in between running down the hall.
I'm sorry you didn't make it to your funeral that you wanted to attend also Carol. I hate tummy troubles. Take it easy and get some good rest, all of you that need it are included in my saying so. Ron, you sure do have your share of skin problems as well. I hope everything turns out well.
Tony, I hope you're enjoying your Joey still. I know I, at least, enjoy our Casper.
Buford, I'm also glad you got some time at your cabin. Someday I would love a cabin in the woods somewhere as long as it has plumbing and electricity, etc. I think of the great outdoors as much of a spiritual retreat as any place, enjoying God's creations.
Chris, I hope you are doing well. How goes it with your parents these days? I hope things have settled down some.
Shannon, Cat, all of the rest of you, I hope you are doing as well as you can.
Carol, I am so with you regarding Easter, we don't do anything special for Easter except attend church services which we would do anyway. I think the most important thing about religion for those of us who are religious is to do the best one can, and especially how we treat our fellow mankind will be important.
Even with that said (and feeling just a tad guilty for saying this), I should be dancing right now at the thought of Dave going back tomorrow (I know I'm just not capable of taking care of him without resentments building and health declining, wish I were stronger, but I'm not). I am dreading packing the trailer, even though most of that will be done by "the boys." And the several hour drive there and back.
Poor Casper has to be boarded again. He's going to have some attachment disorders if he doesn't already, he has been from one place to another since before we had him from what we know of his history. Poor little fella. Even though he has caused some anxiety in this house because he doesn't always want to go out when he should (rain, snow or cold he will run right back in) and will have accidents (aaarrrgggghhhhhh!), I don't know what I would do without him right now. As I brought in groceries from the trunk of the car he followed me from in the house to the trunk and back 3 or 4 times, just wanting to be with me. He doesn't run off, in that aspect he is pretty good (at least for me). He still likes to drag his squeaky toy around, as I talked about before, and as it squeaks, he whimpers, like he is thinking it is a little lost puppy that is sad, but he is the proud papa taking care of it and wagging his tail at the same time.

See y'all soon

I have had this done before with the freezing. Hopefully everything will be ok. Saw an old game show with Mary Ann Mobley. She had Crohn's disease

I got some work done, and got a little fresh air today. It was a good day! I cleaned out my tool shed and put a tin cover over my work bench. I like to make sparks and flames... without burning anything down. ;)

Nice to hear from you Sandy, keep on truckin. It should all settle down soon.

Ron, I pray you get a break from the skin problems. That's no fun having skin frozen off, never mind the stress of the "C" word and all.

Trysha, I hope you are okay my friend. I'm thinking of you.

Everyone else, I appreciate you all. You better believe it! :) ... Cheers!

Thank you Chris and Sandy for those special and kind thoughts and to all my friends on this website.
It seems to be the time of year for problems.....
Ron I am scheduled for the frozen nitrogen spray also.....face and hands....basal cell ca
among all the other problems.
Currently I have appointments with the nephrologist, cardiologist and dermatologist...it’s a good thing I am in Canada and covered for all this...forgot the most important one...the GI
specialist....oh for the days when a specialist in internal medicine covered all these.
Sandy.. you have a very high pressured life right now and hopefully you and Dave will soon have the place to yourselves...plus your little dog...anxious times for him.
Carol and Mandy sorry you have less than optimal health right now and hope you are soon feeling better...think we make a threesome right now...old chronies club...
Im coming up from down at the mo ...quite an uphill journey but improving..
Feel better Everyone.
Trysha

Hi all.
Trysha nice to see you hun. Sorry you have been on the rough side of the fence too. Im back on the smooth side again ☺💝

Sandy wont be long before Doug n yourself are back to normal, once Dave has moved on. Bless you both for giving it a shot. Its hard to have another person to deal with when you are not running on all cylinders. 💝

Carol hope you are feeling better hen

Love to you all and hope you are as well as can be n if not i pray you are very soon.:ghug:💕💕

Hi all,

Just checking in on you guys.

We saw a new GI for hubby today and we really like him. He was kind and very knowledgeable. He also runs a research centre where he does clinical trials.

He said that gene therapy is becoming a huge thing for crohn's and a cure might not be too far off. In our lifetime, we should see a cure. It was very encouraging to hear that [emoji4]

Love to everyone [emoji173]

A man sued an airline after his luggage went missing.....sadly he lost his case.

And another one........you'll like this one Ron.

In case of fire ,exit the building BEFORE tweeting about it

Thanks Mandy,I feel fine now, until the next time, which could be any time,as you all know.

Have finished the Spring Cleaning at last.Everything is sparkley clean ,except the old man.And I've given up with that.In spite of him bathing daily and me cutting his hair regularly, and washing his clothes far too many times.he always looks like something the cat dragged in......Have a good day my friends.

We're here in the suburbs of Vegas, having arrived too late to move Dave in, so he stayed with us at the hotel overnight. Waiting for Dave to wake up so we can go move him in.
Glad you're feeling better Carol, (for now).

Called the pharmacy for refills and then they made me aware that they are closed tomorrow. Didn't plan on making a trip today. Noon time snooze is cancelled for today.
Good to hear about the new GI working out Madu, and I hope everyone will be feeling better.

I hope so too. The stores were full yesterday, I was tired and glad I made it home in one big piece without cracking the egg. It was quite a left turn, not sure of that one, but there were no horns blowing, no sirens either, so all must be good.

Happy Easter everyone. Dave is delivered back to his sister's house, won't say much else about this trip, but get to go home nice and leisurely and enjoy just being with my honey.

Mandy, hubs and I were discussing Garden Centres yesterday, and I know this is one of your busy times.People are wanting to get the bedding plants in and stuff, but Easter usually is to soon at the best of times. This year in particular. But that doesn't stop the masses converging. As they say, where there's life, there's hope.I hope you get a few days off to recuperate and go egg hunting with Jaxon.

Around here people are still snowmobiling, and ice fishing is probably the best it will be given the length of day and warmth from the sun. Better be prepared to have an ice auger extension as the ice on inland lakes are running between 3 to 4 feet thick, and on the sea of lake Superior its 6 feet thick from the ice reports coming in from the icebreakers. Its been a wide winter, and there's no telling what spring will bring in the weeks to come. But I know one thing, I will have a lot of firewood to cut.

Have a good day,my friends.Sandy,I can feel your smile of satisfaction from here. No one can say you didn't try,but now......JOB DONE !!! :thumleft:

Carol iv been that busy at work i even forgot to get jaxons present. Which is not an egg but a gruffolo rain mac. Which id put on oneside at work to collect before i finished on fri.As he is more likely to need it!!. We have been to a park with him today and he has had a ride on a miniture steam engined train. We also saw the tornado steam train at the tiny station in summerseat near where i work. Then we had to come home as it was getting pretty darn cold :(

Thanks Carol. We did have fun. :)
I sure hope it comes warmer soon. I was not made for cold weather.
:)

The warmth will come, but for me spring has always been the coldest starkest time of the year. The weather warms up, then it gets cold again and often the best firewood has been used up, yet its going to be weeks before the leaves start to break out on the trees. Having said that, winter is still with us, the trails are intact so I will continue to make the best of it until I'm housebound, or rather woodpile bound. Then I can complain, but should I? I might as well use that energy that little bit I still have to make that woodpile to keep me warm for the next season.

I remember you saying at the back end of last year how long your winters are Buff.and thinking Wow,that's a loooooong winter. But I'd have your winters anytime, to Ron's summers /winters.I just would not survive in Aust.

It's cold and clear here but the sun is shining and it feels like spring may be possible sometime soon. Happy Easter.

Bufford...sorry to hear you are snowbound and hope for a nice spring thaw for you....some hope I know since you are way north of us
However we are having very cold days right now and snow is again in the forecast...
Oh blow!..such woe!…and we are considered the banana belt in the Niagara Peninsula..
Which I perceive as a prevarication of the truth...but then...what is truth.
Sandy it’s good you can now relax and you and Doug can concentrate on health recovery and maintenance.
Good to see you better Carol and Mandy ...with hiccups here and there.
Hello Shanen..hope you are in better health..
I received two beautiful plants from friends...one is a white azelia the other a pink and beige
Helibore...they are too good for apartment living but I will enjoy them and then give them to a friend with a garden...in a few more months.
Ron and Chris...hope you both had a good 🐣 Easter....that goes for Everyone here.
Winning...

Weatherwise it's the worst Easter for a long time.Today is 2c,wet,sleety with a bitterly cold wind. Def.not a bike day.But the powers that be are promising double figures tomorrow. Then I'll be complaining about the heat......

Ron probably has the most difficult weather, I know that I could not handle it unless I had reliable airconditioning with a back up unit and a generator that can handle the load. While we receive large winters, summers can get hot at times, I use a window ariconditioner for those few times it does get hot. CD and heat with high humidity are a bad combination for my body.

Hi all. Hope to find you all well. If not hope you feel better very soon.
I got my MRI scan app through for the 30th of this month. That was quick !! Usualy have to wait ages.
Love n hugs 💞💝

Hi all, Hello!

I heard about the rough weather in the north east US. So glad we moved. Are you doing ok, Ron?

Mandy, I literally just booked an MRI for hubby. He is having it this Saturday. 30th is a long wait, but that's how I hear things work in the UK? It's all free though through the NHS right? I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Hubby has been feeling a bit off lately and his CRP levels are high. We are anxious about the MRI that everything should be ok. It's been a year since he got out of remission. Still struggling to go back. Oh well, that's the life of a crohnie.

Love to you all [emoji173]

Aw sorry hubby is having it rough hun. I hope things improve mighty fast for him. Wishing him good luck with his scan and its shows no nasty surprises.
Yes its free for us here.A month is pretty quick for our NHS Madhu its usually months... guess thats why theres normaly a long wait for things here because its free.
Love n hugs to you both 💞💝
