I hope this will all turn out okay in the end Lynda. The problem with the world today is that nobody sincerely cares anymore, whether its the maintenance department or government agencies. Sadly the only thing they care about is the Dollars, and sadly their only friend is the dollar.
On the upside people here who have to live with health problems see beyond greed and money. Living with pains as we do makes many a better fuller rounded person. I hope everybody will have a better day today.

I agree, I hope everyone has a better day today. Lynda, you deserve far better service than that gong show! Try to stay calm it will help. I hope they do a good job of cleaning, usually the cleaners are a little more thoughtful than building maintenance. I have worked in building maintenance before, and the cleaning crew saved us more than once... we didn't make messes quite like that though. One time somebody turned on the fire hose on the fourth floor and flooded practically everything below... besides the underground parking garage.... that was fun...

Best wishes to all. :)

Oh my goodness Chris.....I have never heard such a destructive thing.there are always spoilers in life. ..how on earth did you cope with all the water and the damage.
Hope it never happens here....we have excellent building managers with eyes in the backs of their heads...
Lynda hope things are better for you today..
Lots of sunshine today and very warm...may go for a scenic walk above Lake Ontario later when it cools..and watch the beautiful breathtaking sunset...set in a dark blue sky...
Sandy,Kirsty ....et al ....where are you all...hope things are ok for you all....
Winning..

Bufford : This is a kick in rear for me. I paid my rent on Tuesday and it increased by $50. Then Wednesday my apartment gets flooded. Yikes.

Trysha : Wow. That walk sounds so nice 🙂.
All is better today. Cleaning lady that works for the apartment complex cleaned up my kitchen and bathroom area. Carpet guy showed up too. Carpet looks good, I will have to make sure I do not spill anything on it.

Chris: I am very calmed down now. The "flood" made me clean out my closet and organize and store things in the cabinets instead. Actually it felt like exercise to me because I am so sedentary. Closet looks good. Livingroom looks good. Everything smells clean too.
I hope you are feeling a bit better today. 🙂

It’s a relief to hear your good news Lynda...now you can sit back and survey the scene serene....
Now I can sit back in peace and watch Murdoch.....olden days police show based around Toronto.....there’s always a piece of history...today it is Tesla...who as you may know
Designed the first light bulb and I’m really glad he did.
Winning.....

I've been waiting to share this piece of news with you all. I'm 12 weeks pregnant! I had a Dr's appointment today and the baby looks good so far.

You have all been a big source of comfort to me when I lost my 1st baby in January. I hope I'm able to bring this one home.

I am so happy for you. 💕
I know of your struggles with your husbands health and the move to Texas. This is such great news. 💕
So in four weeks you will find out if it is a boy or girl ?

Thanks Lynda. We have the option to know now in a blood test, but I think we are going to not know. We really wished for a girl last time and this time we have no preference. Just any baby will do. Lol

Wonderful news Madhu.I'm so happy for you both.

On a more serious note....Where oh where are Sandy and Doug ? I'm really concerned now.Kirsty, you too sweetheart, how are you ? And Dave, you're a real miss,I hope all's well with you and yours. And not forgetting Trev of course. But I know you're lurking.... It's the families last day. They're off up the coast with hubby to Bamborough Castle. It's a really impressive bit of history right on the cliff overlooking a wide expanse of pristine yellow sand.I opted out as I'm having one of my days and it's almost a two hour drive.

Wonderful news Madhu it must be a very exciting time for you.
Remember to eat well and sleep well and try to relax.
Hope your husband is feeling better
Winning....

Congratulations Madhu, I hope all goes well this time around. You will make for a great Mom. Take a time out whenever you feel the need, to give you all the strength to raise your new addition.

In bed for three hours + and still cannot sleep.....Morpheus is eluding me....
I have resorted to the iPad....not good in the bedroom but it’s the best distractor to hand.
Seems everyone else is sleeping....
Maybe I’ll resort to counting sheep.....

I saw a fellow wearing camouflage pants and a hi. viz. jacket.

Now the question is....does he want to be seen or not ?

The Aussies have returned home.It will take me a few days to adjust to my usual quiet and tidy home, but fear not,I will survive,gladly.....

They don't like your weather or what? ;) I hope you can get back in the swing of things soon, Carol.

It embarrasses me to say that my grandsons are sissies, and my son has forgotten his North of England roots, when 13c and sea fret was the norm, and time to wear short sleeves and no socks. But he's still my baby and I will miss him so much.I was thinking of kid-napping him,but he's to big for me to bundle into the hall closet....

Aw Madhu im so so happy for you both ☺☺☺☺ such wonderful news. Heres to the patter of tiny feet 🥂💕💕

Lynda sorry you had to go through that flood. Glad it has been sorted and calm is restored 💕

Love to all 💕💕

Its been quite a week for many, I hope everyone wins a round this weekend. I slept well last night for the first time in over a week, maybe I'll win a point or two.

Bufford im the same..its as rare as rocking horse poop that i dont wake up a few times in the night. Quite often im a wake every couple of hours all be it usualy breifly.

:ghug:

I hope everyone is keeping as well as possible. I have been working hard mentally today....brain overload! Otherwise I'm okay... Time to goof off for a bit.;)

I just vented on another thread, so I guess I feel better.
I can watch something entertaining on YouTube after I rest my eyes.

🤯 Chris : Hope your brain feels better tomorrow.

I am worried about those hedgies.

We had planned to have a peddle today, first time for a while owing to the family visiting us.But it's grey and damp and not very enticing out.I know professional cyclists wouldn't let that stop them, but because it's been a week or so I've lost my mojo somewhat.I hope it shows up soon,I really need the exercise..Enjoy your Sunday everyone.Remember it's a day of rest ,so chill out, even if only to make me feel better...

A day of rest it will be as sleep was fleeting last night. Yesterday was more productive, I cut down a couple of dead trees for some dry wood, the furnace is hungry and keeping up with its appetite in this climate is challenging at times.

Well my day wasnt easy...working today.
Oh well day off tomorrow. I say that ...got baby to take for holiday jabs at 9 am then mine at 3pm and other stuff inbetween. So maybe not a day off then 🤔

Love to all 💕💞

Sounds like we are all taking a nosedive to a greater or lesser degree.....must be the changeable weather
Have a lovely day tomorrow Mandy...sounds as if your work is cut out for you...take a minute to put up your feet...
Winning....

The sun was shining on the sea shining with all his might
He did his very best to make the billows very bright
And this was odd because it was the middle of the night
The moon was shining sulkily because she thought the sun
Had got no business to be there after the day was done
It’s very rude of him she said to come and spoil the fun.
The sea was wet as wet can be the sands were dry as dry
You could not see a cloud because no cloud was in the sky.
No birds were flying overhead...there were no birds to fly.

The walrus and the carpenter were walking close at hand
They wept like anything to see such quantities of sand

O Oysters come and walk with us the Walrus did beseech
A pleasant walk a pleasant talk along the briny beach

But four young oysters hurried up all eager for the treat
Their coats were brushed their faces washed their shoes were clean and neat
And this was odd, because, you know they hadn’t any feet.
Four other oysters followed them and yet another four
And thick and fast they came at last and more and more and more
All hopping through the frothy waves and scrambling for the shore

The time has come the Walrus said to talk of many thing,of shoes and ships and sealing wax of cabbages and kings
And why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings

But wait a bit the oysters cried, before we have our chat
For some of us are out of breath and all of us are fat.
No hurry said the Carpenter...they thanked him much for that

A loaf of bread the Walrus said is what we chiefly need
Pepper and vinegar beside are very good indeed
Now if you’re ready oysters dear we can begin to feed

But not on us the oysters cried turning a little blue
After such kindness that would be a dismal thing to do
The night is fine the Walrus said,do you admire the view.

I weep for you the Walrus said..I deeply sympathize
With sobs and tears he sorted out those of the largest size
Holding his pocket handkerchief before his streaming eyes.

O Oysters said the Carpenter you’ve had a pleasant run
Shall we be trotting home again...but answer came there none..
And this was scarcely odd because they’d eaten everyone.

Lewis Carroll......The Walrus and the Carpenter....
(Too long to include all verses)

I have an Alice in Wonderland book which my Grandma bought for my tenth birthday...not quite an antique but almost. The books quite old too..
Have been for a peddle at last, despite no change in the dismal weather.Went along the coast and it's a good job I knew where the sea was,or I might have needed an aqualung.

Trysha i managed about a minute(literaly)to put my feet up. Iv not felt great today either so iv gone to bed early to rest up. Tomorrows another day..hoping its better belly wise.

Carol glad you got a peddle in hen. Good job you did know where the sea was...i was in no fit state to rush across the counties your aid today. Though i do have an aqualung in the boot incase of emergencies :).

Big loves to all. 💕💞

As long as it was a peddle you went for Carol and not a paddle.....
Mandy I’m sorry you are under the weather and hope you will soon feel better.
This is a wretched condition...one day I’m fine the next ...well...not so fine.
Sometimes I feel better after theacupuncture session...I go twice weekly.
It certainly has a place in medicine if only docs would pay attention to its value.
It was a lovely sunny day with azure skies today.
I was very tired after the gym and shopping expedition.
Time for an early night.
Feel better soon Mandy and everyone...
Winning....

Popping in for a win..

Tomorrow is scopes day. So hopefully it's hubby's turn to win. Today is prep day then. Poor him..

This condition is a wicked one, I can feel fine, and then for no apparent reason it casts a spell on me and suddenly I start feeling awful. The scourge is a thief of the quality of life. I had a slightly better night, I'll take advantage of this lift of energy for it won't last for very long.

Thanks Trysha today was better not great but better is a bonus ☺. Hope you get a good rest hun 💕

Madhu hope the scopes dont reveal any nasties. Hope they go un painful too. 💕

Bufford yep totaly agree. Fine then not fine its a bummer. Enjoy the good days and pray the bad ones are short lived. 💞

So there is no support group or thread about supplements / vitamins / etc ❓

Good Night.

Loosing.

I've just typed in Vitamins and supplements in the search box at the top of
the page and there's lots of back threads to interest you.Hope it helps.:thumleft:

Hi guys, yesterday went really well. Scopes showed very little inflammation and was mostly all good. So remicade is continuing to work. Dr might add methotrexate to the mix.

Sandy, Doug where are you? It's been ages.

Good news, Madhu. It must be nice that now you know your husbands disease is responding to treatment.

I also wonder about the Ute's...and... I believe Ron has had to take some time off for himself, I think he needed to take a break for a while. I really do hope they are all doing okay... We all occasionally need a well deserved rest though, even the rock stars take a break sometime!

Best wishes to all.

Thanks for the update on Ron, Chris. I am very concerned about Sandy and Doug, especially as they both share LOWs with us all.I sent an Email a few days ago but have had no reply so far....

Im worried to about their absence. I pray all is well and they are just having some time out.

Madhu glad it went well with the scopes. Hope things stay good 💞

Love to all 💕💞

Missing Sandy Doug Kirstie and Dave......hoping things are ok with you all.
Today ended on a frustrated note....I had been in all day waiting for a repair to a leaky faucet.
Early evening as I opened the door a note was attached that the repair man, presumably the building manager had called and found I was not home!!!
He did not phone but must have knocked on the door lightly....I have poor hearing...
I was very put out to say the least...and think he should have buzzed me.
At least the weather is sunny...lovely blue skies and good temperature for walking..
Winning......maybe??

What has happened to everyone....quite a post shortage...
Lovely sunny day so maybe you are all enjoying the sunshine.
Not so well today....hope tomorrow will be better....who knows what tomorrow May bring...
I meant to buy a lottery ticket...a rare event for me to even think it...but it was the thought of 69million $$ up for grabs....then I forgot to buy a ticket.....probably saved on the deal after all.
Hope you are all having a sunshine weekend
Cheers!!

We had a huge lottery rollover on Friday.Hubs was going to go for a ticket, then got side tracked. We don't usually bother and no-one in the neighbourhood is having a party,so it wouldn't have been us either.

Someone has to win Carol...but why is it never us......could be because we forgot to buy the ticket......sometimes I wonder if these things are fixed.....
Can’t understand our June weather...one day hot the next day cold...what are we supposed to wear.
The American President is rolling around making life difficult for all his friends...could be an early Alzheimer’s ? Then there’s Brexit......all these things to worry about.....and the world rolls on..
Winning....

I havn't posted much due to feeling like garbage the past few days, gallbladder and perhaps that is giving me this painful gas and cramps.
Speaking of lotteries our lotto max was up to 60 million. Made me dream about winning and buying myself that Gulfstream 500 personal jet I saw in Flying magazine for a measly 45 million dollars. Leaving me with 15 million to spend on gas, maintenance and hanger fees. If it were not for the Crohn's, and my finances were better I would have a small plane, even a noisy old beat up one.

Carol : I never buy lotto tickets. I won $10 once on a lotto scratch ticket.....about 30 years ago. Best we don't win, it seems to change some people's lives for the worse and then they go broke.

Bufford : Sorry you aren't feeling well. But you are one of the strongest people here, so I know you will be alright. ( except for those nasty flies. )

Trysha : Ah....politics, it's always a mess. I still don't understand how our current President managed to get elected....ridiculous. But politics are best left aside for other folks to debate about. Believe it or not, I cancelled my TV cable service earlier this year. My cable company charged too much and I disliked their service anyhow. I can get any news on my android phone, just bought a new one so I love it.

ronroush : We are all.thinking about you.

My accomplishment of the day was driving to the grocery store in °102 heat and on a Sunday to boot ! Sundays are crazy shopping days. Now going to relax, take more pills and work on a word find puzzle. ( Such an exciting life, eh? )

Have a great week. 💕

Thought for the day........there are 192 shopping days to Christmas.

Now doesn't that cheer you all up ? (NOT) !!!

Aww Carol...does that mean summers nearly over...especially since it didn’t arrive yet....
Winning...

Only 10 days until the solstice and then the real summer should begin in earnest. Summer is somewhat like wine, it gets better with time, the bugs settle back by August and the evenings are longer with an earlier sunset. The weather is usually better with fewer cold fronts, and with hope the water becomes warm enough for a swim.

My wood pile has come along in a timely manner. I had a good night for a change, perhaps it was those dandelion flowers I ate yesterday afternoon. They are good all by themselves without dressing or dip.

My neighbour knocked loudly on my door at 3-15 this morning.3-15...I ask you !!!
It's a good job I was still up practising the bagpipes or I would have been really annoyed

Grand baby is starting to crawl and be mobile. It’s so great to see him as he developes his personality. 😊

Aw bless him..now the fun begins. Not only do you need eyes at the back of your head, you need them all round it ☺

Hi all hope its a good day for you all💞💕

I'd rather have a puppy, but I know my limitations now.At least baby can be handed back when you've had all the fun bits.

hey everyone , been busy with father in law , he's 94 and has gotten more infirm and bothered in the last few weeks so haven't been here as much , hey Ron hope you are ok the forum misses you but take all the time away you need , you have been the rock and foundation of support on this forum , day or night you could rely on Ron for a shout out and sometimes thats all you need , so Ron THANK YOU and take care of yourself

hey Carol so you want a puppy , I have one thats slightly bigger than a puppy , one careful owner and low mileage

https://photos.app.goo.gl/xYstAiqCH5Po7St68

be well everyone

Good to see you back, Shanen. Glad you're enjoying this precious stage [emoji4]

We miss you Ron, Cat and the Utes. Hope you guys are hanging in there. Come say hi when you find a minute [emoji173]

I'm 14 weeks along now, had a scan yesterday. It was amazing to see the little one twirl around inside me, made the sonographer work real hard. [emoji177][emoji177]

I hope we are all feeling well again soon. It's good to see you, Tony and Shanen...:)

I'm sorry to hear about your father in laws situation, Tony. I hope they can get him comfortable soon.

I'm glad you got to see your baby moving about, Madhu. That is always so heartwarming and beautiful...:)

Everyone take good care.............Peace!

Madhu I hope you're taking good care of yourself.I know pregnancy is not an illness, but a little bit if pampering from the other half will be appreciated.Tell him I said !!!

Tony, thanks for the offer,I'll think it over. The trouble is that after fifty years and eight dogs, I've now become settled in a new routine since Alfie went over Rainbow Bridge three+ years ago.It would be soooo hard to get up early on the dark wet winter mornings.......They were all worth it though and I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Tony hope things improve for your father in law. He has reached a good age bless him. Praying he gets many more 💞

Madhu aw its so lovely to see the baby moving around on a scan. Brings tears to my eyes each time iv seen it. Carols right, tho its not an illness taking good care of yourself and taking any help offered is a wise move. 💞💞

Sandy Doug Ron Cat Kirsty we miss you. Hope you are all ok. 💕💞
Love to all 💞💞

Thanks Carol and Mandy. I had severe vomiting the first trimester (same as what Kate Middleton has), so I was bedridden for nearly a month and needed IV fluids. Now things seem to be getting better but I'm still taking it very slow and hubby is being a huge help. Bless him [emoji177]

Hey Tony, I hope they can help your father in law comfortable soon. Good to see you on here [emoji173]

I'm glad to see that we are doing better again. I love dogs too, but know my limits when it comes to taking care of them which is why I have an 18 pound orange striped cat (just over 8 kilos).

Cats are great, I had one as a kid and he lived a long and happy outdoor life. He was one tough mudder, and so smart. That cat would come running to me when I called. I haven't met another one like that...yet...

Has anyone seen the racoon scaling 23 stories of a high rise in Minnisota....(spl ?)
Some workmen opposite noticed it first. It took 20hrs to get to the top. Some kind soul offered $1000 for it's safe rescue, but it was safely caged by animal rescue and returned to the wild.It will probably be on YouTube........

I guess if the racoon was that smart it wouldnt have climbed the building in the 1st place 😃😃😃
Gotta give it 10 out of 10 for effort though... bless it

Hi ya all hope to find everyone well, if your not please get well soon 💕💞

Well, if you made it this far it must mean the weekend is coming... A big big shout out to all the folks we are missing, take as much time as you need... but do give a holler if you are able.. we care.

Thanks Chris.I know we all need time away sometimes for many different reasons, but I'm really worried about Sandy,Doug,Kirsty,Ron and Dave. They're part of our loonie, chronie family
and are greatly missed...as is Robert,in case you're lurking !!!

What happens to me is that I log on here with good intentions to write, read through the posts and then end up with 'dead head mind block' and cannot find my thoughts. This happens more often when I get a poor night's rest which happens all too often.

Believe it or not I sometimes log on and find I have nothing to say.But it's rare, as you all know.To be honest,I'm a very quiet soul and prefer my own (and hubbys) company.Although not actually unsociable,I don't need other people to make me happy.I have been known to dodge folk at the shops, and to not answer my phone or door. But I know people I DO speak to and who know me well, think I'm kind and funny,so that's all that matters really.......

I keep to myself and live in a very isolated area where houses are measured kilometers apart and I can walk down the road and not see any cars or trucks while walking to the neighbors. However, there are times I need to reach out when there is nobody around and this site helps fulfill the purpose and the need to interact with others.

I am a social butterfly..trying my hardest to fly away from people 😃😃. I do like my own company very much, just as well as iv not got any energy left for much socialising after work n jaxon ☺.

Love n hugs to all 💕💞💕

Madhu: Glad to hear about your scan. It sounds like everything is going well. 😊

Tony : You don't have a "puppy", that is really a baby polar bear. 😳

Carol : Hey. I grew up in Minnesota. I will look up that raccoon story. 🙂

Chris : You know you are a lover, not a fighter.....no matter how much Irish you are.🤜🤛

I will post a "fun fact" at a later date. Stay tuned ?

This is the third LOWs in about seven years.David, bless, him has to close us down and start a new thread.I don't understand why, something to do with us being so chatty ?
But it shows how popular this thread is,and much needed to a lot of us......Off to the dentist,,,oh deep joy !!!

I do not envy anyone who has a dental appointment. They say modern dentistry doesn't hurt, but it still does twice, one my mouth and two my wallet. Carol I hope its for something simple and not one of those root canals ordeals.

Last edited:
It wasn't a root canal, but I've had a couple in the past and didn't find them too bad.Better than a colonoscopy prep. anytime.

Im with you on that Carol....il take the denist over that crud anyday. :)

Im feeling crappy today so off to my bed now (6pm). Hope to sleep it off.
💞💕

LIFE...Often unsatisfying, frequently cruel, usually boring, sometimes beautiful, once in a while exhilarating.....the fundamental things apply as time goes by.....tra la la la la.

I'll have to disagree and take the prep and the scope over dental work like a rootcanal. I've gone through many colonoscopys and only had one difficult scope when the doctor didn't use enough anesthetic. Root canals are another story, I hate anything like power drills in my mouth, and the discomfort during and after the procedure.

Rather not have either but if I had to choose it would be the dentist....
Feel better soon Mandy...
It is devastating to see how badly children are being treated by Trump and his
administration while the world 🌎 looks on...
Very wrong to separate children from parents.
Good to see everyone on LOW is in fine form today even though life can be an effort at times.

Felt better today thanks Trysha ☺
That man lives up to his name .. trump, he is all wind n no substance. He beggers belief!!!

Hope all are well...

Carol those words are so apt...
I also like the phrase, life is what goes on while your busy doing something else :)

:ghug:💞💕

The marijuana is coming, but oh so slow. I don't understand why they cannot simply drop the old law, open up the marijuana market and then have a cooling off period to let the people decide what and how they want it before regulating it. People can be found everywhere already openly enjoying it, its been the most studied substance found on the planet.
