Aw happy nesting madhu πŸ™‚πŸ™‚ baby clothes are so cute.
Carol can you send me a copy of war and peace in hieroglyphics please....iv been painting some today for our egypt themed christmas room at work plus a pharoahs mask and body...oh the joys... my piggin fingers are killin me.

Love to all πŸ’•πŸ’

Okay, it's done. Surgery is set for January 8. I am scared but resigned. Doc reconfirmed that even though the ileocecal valve, appendix and cecum appear okay in MRI, all will be cut out with the diseased terminal ileum. Then the small intestine is sewn and stapled to the large intestine. I asked if I could see the parts they cut out when I wake up, but no, they are immediately sent to pathology where they are sliced up looking for signs of cancer. But she did say they would take a photo of the bad bits for me...
I haven't had surgery since my tonsils were removed at age 7. (I am now 66). Very nervous.:(

Wow, Nutty, that's quite a while to go between surgeries, but I'm glad you haven't had to have others. I'm sure you'll do fine tho! I remember my 1st surgery (in my early forties, I think it was), I was quite nervous, but it wasn't nearly as bad as expected (tho mine wasn't as serious as a resection, but the principle would be the same, it's amazing what we can heal from.) I'm sure my feelings then are similar to how you are feeling now because a tonsillectomy at 7 wouldn't be looked at the same way as a major surgery would be looked at as an adult. I think a lot of crohnies have had resections in the same area as you are going to have yours, I know my hubby Doug did, and he did so much better after surgery! Give yourself time to heal, and you will feel so much better in the end.
Mandy, your Egypt themed Christmas display sounds interesting to say the least. I would have never put those two things together in my little mind! I'm jealous of anyone who has such creative and natural artistic skills. I have to fight for every piece of creativity I have, and it's almost always copying someone else's ideas or crafts when I do anything "creative." I'm sorry it wore your fingers out tho. Hope you're able to use some other skills tomorrow (that would actually be today for you now) so your fingers don't fall off.
We ordered a pellet grill which arrived today, and Doug put it together (with Bentley's supervision), then he made the most amazing chicken for dinner, so I'm definitely winning right now.
Good night all you lovely people. Wayyyy past bedtime for me. Sleep well, enjoy your day, or whatever the case may be.
Trysha, are you ok as can be with all you have going on?

Hey Sandy..we are doing christmas around the world as our main theme, we have Egypt Canada London Lapland and Peru as the individual themes . Thankfuly its my weekend off so i can rest my fingers πŸ™‚.πŸ’πŸ’•

Nutty hope all goes well re the op.. i had a resection with temporay ileostomy a few years back and iv been really good bowel /stomach wise since. I hope you find it helps you as much as it did me. πŸ’

Sending hugs and love to all :ghug: xxx

Surgery is one of those serious moments in life, but the improvement it can make for quality of life is well worth the risk. I live with a colostomy, but despite the inconveniences it presents,my quality of life is far better now than it was prior to surgery.

Good luck with the surgery Nutty. I hope it puts you in remission and stays that way. Hugs [emoji177]

It's a quiet Sunday here on the forum and at our house. I'm going to go plan some card making projects and the coming week out... Mammogram tomorrow, GI for Doug Wednesday, then cardiologist for me Friday, so it's definitely a doctor week too. I'm sure that's something all too familiar with all of you. But since you're all away today, I'm winning!

Hi Madhu! Sorry to ruin a nesting mother's win. (Well, a little!) Hope you're getting some sleep now.
Winning.
:award2:

Madhu you should try to get all the sleep you can, while you still can. Easier said than done, I know.
I've been getting depressed reading the news, so I think I will try to avoid them once again. Nothing but awful things happening all over the world.

I'm a child of the sixties.I still wear jeans and yes my bum looks big in them, but then my bum looked big in 1966......This is a tongue in cheek statement.I do still wear jeans but my bums not big,or nobody dares to tell me if it is.

I agree Buff.I worry more about sleepless nights than anything else.Although I do usually sleep well and long.I always understood that the older we get the less sleep we need. But that doesn't apply in this house.I love my bed, although I don't ever have a nap during the day, unless I'm not well and nod off on the sofa. But sleepless nights are the absolute pits for dwelling on all kinds of things that are only fleeting thoughts during the day when we're busy,or reading or watching TV.Sleep Well all, especially you Madhu.

I ended up sleeping at 1 am. And compensated with a 2 hour nap this noon [emoji16]

For 48yrs after tinned food was invented, people who wanted to eat it had to use a hammer and chisel. The can opener wasn't invented until 1858...…..and....the screwdriver was invented before the screw. It was originally used to extract nails....not finger or toe nails hopefully.

Scottsma, you always give us food for thought! (Great filler when we can't actually eat food.) I just recently discovered that the Phillips head screw was not invented until the early 1930s. Somehow I thought that had "always" been around. :ack:

I do these "fillers" when I can't think of anything to talk about....I mean,if I don't show up I wouldn't want you all having a collection for flowers...if you get my drift.

Speaking of tin cans, in the olden days people would make roof shingles out of them. It seems to be making a comeback, I saw pictures of how to make a beer can shingle.

We live in an old farm house- when we first moved in, there were several holes in the floors and walls covered with metal can lids screwed down. Now there's a fix for ya!

Meet the newest member of our family. Bentley tolerated meeting his adopted sibling pretty well, though there are going to be a few kinks to iron out. It should work out well in the end though. We're not sure if the kitten is a boy or girl yet, so haven't been able to come up with a name. He or she is playful, affectionate and amazingly tolerant of riding in a car.
Winning. The cat makes a good prize, don't you think?
picture.php

Ah,thanks for the lovely pic Sandy. If you can't sex the kitten you could call it Chaos,as that's what your life will be like for a good while....as if it's not chaotic enough already.

At least you'll have plenty of laughter which is a good thing, but be warned little kits do like to climb Christmas trees.

And be sure to hide the toilet paper roll!

Lolololol. And watch the black cats on Halloween, don't let them out with all the crazy people there are out there. Sigh, Bentley just escaped (and he likes to chase kids.)

Cute kitty, Nutty.

Yay! Bentley is back.

We're naming our kitty Ninja, we're sure he's a Male now, and he has crazy ninja skills for a six week old kitten.

Nice one Sandy. There's a cat across the back from us that we call the Ginger Ninja for obvious reasons, don't know his given name.He sneaks up on our wild birds.Him and my hubby have a hate / hate relationship.:voodoo::voodoo::(

Your shout out startled me Carol...just as I finished the final chapter of War and Peace..in
Swahili...
Laid low for a few days as cronies do and then come up for air...nuff said..
I have just been perusing all the lively conversations on here and just love your new cat
Ninja? Sandy...also the lovely white dog...looks a treasure.
Bufford did you decide on the roof yet....
Madhu hope the sleep has improved for you..nothing worse than lack of sleep.
Tuff..that’s a lovely kitten....tell him/her the bathroom and especially paper rolls are off limits.
Mandy hope things are well in your neck of the woods.
Chris..have you been busy with more wood detail for winter
We have had lots of rain.....don’t know where the snow went
Winning....

Hi all :).
Aw cute kitten Sandy. Hope Ninja and Bently get along well. πŸ’•πŸ’•

Trysha things are ok my end. Been busy with work and trying to rest inbetween. πŸ’

Hope to find everyone as well as possible . Big hugs and loves :ghug:πŸ’πŸ’•

If all the British Empire's dead of the First World War were to march four abreast down Whitehall, it would take them almost four days and nights to pass the Cenotaph.

Don't forget the 61,000 Canadians, with twice that wounded. I went to Holland once years ago, and wore a Canadian flag pin. I couldn't believe how nice people were to us years later, for liberating them. The Dutch royal family sent 100,000 tulips to Canada, and they still have a tulip festival every year in Ottawa.

Sorry Tuff,I didn't mean to disregard other nationalities who fought. We all have a lot to thank them for.I hope the present and future generations strive to remember them all,but I doubt it somehow.

No offense. You just brought back some memories of a wonderful trip. Although I almost drowned when I stepped into a rip tide. I didn't even know what those were, until I found out the hard way.

Still no sleep. I'm a walking zombie with aches and pains. I might take up my doctor's offer on taking a sleeping pill. Literally counting down. 40 days to go [emoji30]

I stepped away from here because I was busy with the help of a good neighbor rebuilding the roof on the cabin. New plywood sheathing and new trusses. I put a tarp on it for now, if the weather holds I may put up tar paper before the snows.

Its been hard on my body, I gave in and took a laxative towards morning and had good success at the outhouse. Today is a day of rest.

I slept for a good part of the day, and did basically nothing except going back and forth from the outhouse until it was suppertime. A lot of volume, it left me worn out. Today I am going to take another easier day of it, signs of winter are everywhere, but for the most part I am ready for it

Good news about the cabin, Buff. Hang in there, Madhu... I hope the baby lets you sleep more often. I have been working in the yard this last week, lots of leaves and taking down the gardens properly. These things will make spring easier to handle... hopefully it arrives on time this year. :)

I wanted to take up knitting again, and looked online for a cardigan kit. Everything I liked was sold out. I wonder if it's because it's getting close to Christmas. There's not much available locally anymore, a few very expensive wool stores, that's about it.

I've never been arty-farty as far as knitting etc.goes.My mam-in-law tried to teach me crochet many years ago,but had to give up.I knit my son a couple of sweaters when he was 4 or 5yrs old,and he's still waiting to "grow" into them. He's got four kids of his own now.I can't even cut fabric in a straight line, and when I need to turn hems up,I use wunda web iron on.But I have a good eye for interior design, and hubby and the fella next door enjoy my cooking. We can't all be good at everything,I tell myself....often

War and rumours of war forever exist or so it seems.
It’s the children that are affected that is so moving....and unacceptable.
The world is full of displaced people.
War has been in my life and many other lives since the day I was born and now in the autumn of life still continues.
Who is fueling all these wars and who causes them.
It is troubling that western nations make lots of money in manufacturing and supply of arms
to warring nations.
Anyway...the clocks are back an hour...the sun is shining and the temperature mild so
off to Sunday Church and a nice walk to blow away the cobwebs.
Wishing you all a lovely Sunday..
Winning...

I'm the opposite, I like working with my hands. I call it functional art. It seems like a waste of time if I watch Netflix without doing something useful at the same time. It's just hard to get supplies anymore, I guess the younger set don't do it, in some countries there's been a resurgeonce though.

Trysha Canada is going ahead with its $15 billion arms sales to Saudi Arabia. I'll remember that next time I vote, but I doubt it will do any good.

And that carbon tax to intentionally inflict financial pain and misery upon those who can least afford it, such as those people like ourselves in bad health who live upon low income and can barely keep the house. I do not believe for one moment that this recessive tax will slow down those who snowbird and buy high end sports cars. Why do we have to suffer?

So much unnecessary suffering and struggle in the world; and when the divide between the have's and have not's grow too wide, it gives rise to the ugly possibility of war and conflict.

Tuff it’s even worse that it is our money inadvertently? going to these despots in the form of trade.
Meantime we have people here lying and sleeping on the streets all weathers...many with mental challenges, drug addicts....etc
That money should go to getting decent lives and living conditions for people instead of politicians pockets.
Sorry you are not good with the needle Carol....I am the same...but I can do beautiful embroidery learnt at school...dressmaking..forget it!!
Bufford you are so right
Our only recourse is the vote...and then who can we trust..
Winning.....

Had a good cycle up the coast then back along the river.Found a wooly beanie hat after buying two last week, and a glove. Why is it we only ever find one glove ? Don't people notice they've lost one when a right or left hand goes cold ? And if they don't notice did they really need it in the first place ?.....After Christmas is a peak time for lost gloves, always one and always new.Folk have gone to the trouble of buying and wrapping them so please please be kind to your gloves. When we were little mam used to attach string or elastic to ours and thread them up / down our coat sleeves.

With my memory getting so bad, I should get myself those child restraints to prevent me from losing my mitts. I always find myself wearing two different mitts, sometimes its worse when I end up wearing two left handed mitts. At least my hands are warm Lol.

Always odd gloves, socks where do they go??? I wear a pair of socks to go out in,i come home in the pair of socks i went out in, i put a pair of socks in the washer, i take a pair out of washer, but when i go to get a pair out of the drawrer only 1 sock what the heck!!! I fear i may have a sock stealing ghost πŸ€”. Tbh i could do with some of the missing socks back off the ghost if he/she doesn't mind :) .
Love to all πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Last winter I bought three pairs of gloves and lost them within a week.
When the snow and ice defrosted I saw one pair on the sidewalk soaked and muddy...left them there....
Across the road another frozen glove surfaced.....don’t know where the others went...
This year I am going to buy cheap gloves from the dollar store....... for daily shopping etc.
Best gloves for Sunday...
My hairdresser establishment went broke and closed.
I had an appointment today elsewhere....the hairdresser never turned up after it taking an hour to get there.
Impossible to manage on my own....my previous now sadly deceased hairdresser said not everyone knows how to manage English hair...so right....sigh....
I might have to forgive the forgetful one since he has the know how.
Work ethic seems to be out the window these days.
Madhu...hope you are feeling a little better....the little one will soon be here....
Mandy...I have more socks than I know what to do with....fancy ones, stripey ones, colourful ones...shamrock ones very pretty.....you name it...would you like some ?.
My family in England keeps me well supplied....I have a large family..
Carol...I envy your bike rides up the coast.....so lucky to have that...together with your wit..
Chris..that sounds like the voice of experience...
Have a good day Everyone
Winning......

Does anyone know why I'm forever burping.Silly question I know, but I've never been a burper before. It's been going on almost continuously for 3-4 weeks, whether or not I've eaten and I'm very careful with my diet. Also morning gas from the other end with mucus.I feel quite well so am loathe to visit the doc.

Carol...that can be symptomatic of crohn’s and if it’s a real bother to you maybe you should check in with your doc......hope it goes away for you...soon.
You will likely be familiar with any foods that cause it.
Another dull day 9C which is warm for us this time of year and no snow yet....
Have a good day Everyone
Winning......

Scottsma mucus is not a good sign, something is going on in there. I tried the FODMAP diet and found some foods that give me gas and bloating. If it's your Crohn's acting up, it probably won't help.

Carol have you changed brands or introduced something different to your diet? Sometimes I can trace my symptoms back to something I ate or changed in what I eat.

Look behind the dryer, Mandy!

Chris thats a cracking idea...only i dont have a dryer πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ but if i did thats probably where they'd be.

Trysha yes please send them over asap πŸ˜€πŸ˜€.

Carol i have had an occasional bit of mucus after a bottom burp. As all seems well iv not done anything about it...but if its fairly often for you, i would suggest a visit to docs n just check it out with him/her.

Love hugs n support to all :ghug:

All the mystery... Maybe there's an alternate dimension where all these socks and mittens collect... Nah, it couldn't be! ...Or is there such a place?:ywow: I suspect the lion and the witch of Narnia. ;)

Chris...they fill a large drawer in my chest of drawers.....need space for some new ones which I know will arrive in a few more weeks.....
Mandy...please send address ASAP....

Thanks crohnie family.I think I'll just hang fire for a while and see how it goes.I can do without them poking around to tell you the truth. But as I advise everybody else,"if you think you need help, then you do".Haven't eaten anything different,I tend to stick to the same food daily.I was first dx'd with Proctitis so maybe it's that which is causing the other problem.I have some Asacol supps.so will try those for a while....off for a look around the auction house before tomorrow's sale,it's always interesting.

With you there Carol.....sometimes things can get worse with being poked and prodded.
On the other hand.....procrastination is the thief of time...
Feel better soon..
Lovely sunny day today will be off soon to the physiotherapist.
How much longer...I tell myself...but then it does beat conventional medicine for me. who says it takes a long time to heal....it’s now four months and continuing...
Don’t ever fall over your feet.....
Winning"...

Hi all. An update on my mum. She maybe coming home next week. Still not great on her feet but doubt she can improve much more with the arthritis in her left leg. Making sure all is in place at her house b4 she does, care link etc.

Hope to find you all in good spirits if not why not? The worlds a wonderful place...if you dont have to live in it :) :)
Love n hugs :ghug:πŸ’

Sorry I'm laughing when these things are serious matters, (shouldn't have mucous, Carol!) but I love the sense of humor of this group. No time for me to reply to all I want to, but about fell off chair at term "bottom burp." My dad's wife, (didn't raise me, can't call her step mother, tho I still love her dearly, but why she married my dad I'll never figure out, lol) called them "fluffies." Oh, the discussions could have about socks and mittens, crocheting, sewing a straight line, etc.
This past week has been very tough for me, my little world has had one crisis after another. (Including my own tummy troubles that started with not getting medication from pharmacy due to their error, tho that happened about 3-4 weeks ago, since getting meds for about 2 weeks, but tummy hasn't been same since.) Last night got a group text to me and siblings from sister in Indiana who is caretaker to mother that she (my mother) had just been taken away in an ambulance. Long story shortened, she needs a pacemaker, but they can't put pacemaker in until they figure out cause of infection she had (went in with fever of 102Β°) and work out a couple other things.
Life is never dull, is it?

Oh my! I had pressed the "refresh" button a couple times before my post above, (including right before) but the last two two posts (from Trysha and Mandy) didn't show up until I posted. Thanks for the reminder, Mandy, overall, the world is a lovely place. Yes, there are wars and rumors of wars (I don't understand that thinking either, Trysha), but I live in a comfortable place, we have relative security where we are, and Doug and I are blessed in many ways. Plus, we have our friends, including all of you.

Sorry to hear you are under the weather Sandy and hope it gets sorted out soon for a more comfortable life. You have a lovely family to help you....the little pooch and tiny cat.
Maybe take a look at your meds and see if a revision is in order.
My Physiotherapy appointment time was changed for today and I forgot about it...till I suddenly remembered. At 1.10 pm....it was for 1 pm and so I phoned to apologize and rebook.
The receptionist said there had been two cancellations so I was ok to go in.....
I did post haste.
The sessions are very helpful....just wish the effects would last forever. It does lessen the aches and pains and makes me feel good ...it’s a gradual effect that starts there and continues when I go home.
Lasts for 2-3 days and then some symptoms return in time for the next session a few days later.
Eventually everything will get better and I have resolved to never fall again.
There was a most beautiful colourful duck swimming on a lake in New York which has suddenly disappeared.Ive never seen such a beautiful duck.....it looked hand painted....
but was a real living duck. They belong in Asia and it is not known how it came to be in New York. I hope nobody stole it......maybe the authorities have sent it back to its oriental home
before winter sets in.....it is also an illegal alien and everyone knows that Mr T will not accept illegals.
I would love it in my back garden ...if I had one...
Mandy I’m glad to hear Mum is coming home....may be a bit of a worry for you at first.
You could have a pile of colourful socks for her if you hurry up and collect them....
Goodnight ...sleep tight Everyone..
Winning...

In the days before crohns (happy days) I was up with the Larks, walked the dogs then went about my usual business without a thought of toilets.Since "doomsday" though, life is so complicated. If I have morning appointments it can be stressful wondering if I'm going to be able to make it.So now I have afternoon appointments, which I hate,Recently I've had to cancel two dental appointments at 11-30 and 1pm.Next one next week at 3-30pm.Today I have a hair dressers appt.at 1pm,(cancelled last weeks noon appt.)It's ten past noon and I still don't know if I'm finished using the bathroom.I've taken 2 loperamide which I try Not to do,so hopefully things will slow down. But those 2 capsules could stop me going tomorrow as well, and so it goes on......

Oh, Scottsma, I can so relate! My D was so bad Tuesday that I thought I might have to postpone my Remicade infusion! I took 3 loperamide that day, and the label says not to exceed 4 in a 24 hour period. Luckily it did kick in, and I only had to be disconnected from all the wires to use the bathroom once during the five hour hospital visit. Of course, then it took an entire day for my bowels to wake up again! Hang in there! (Ah, for the days before Crohn's....):drink:

Living with Crohn's means all my main activity is done in the afternoons. Mornings are personal time, reading the news, and waiting for the bathroom visits. Afternoon is when I get things done, and by evening time I am done and all I want is the recliner and TV remote.

Sorry about missing your appointment Trysha, and the stress of getting to appointments without incident Carol. That was part of my stress after the pharmacy accidentally didn't get me my meds for my tummy as they promised they would without me having to do anything else (and with my multitudes of other meds, didn't realize/remember it was missing until a couple of weeks of not taking it). I have a GI appointment Friday, I think it is, to discuss why my own tummy not recovered since.
It's hard to be over 1000 miles away from my mother when I know there is a good chance I won't see her again, at least in this life. Today should include a visit for her from an infectious disease specialist, along with a scope with an ultrasound down her esophagus to view her heart to see if heart itself has infection. If so, things not looking good for her. Hope she can make it until she gets a pacemaker. I haven't had the best relationship with my mother, but she is still the only mother I have.

(Bufford's and Nutty posts didn't show up in my feed until after I posted again. Argggh.)

Carol and Sandy...sorry to hear you are having less than positive times..hope it all gets settled very soon.
It seems to be the time of year for Crohn’s to rear it’s ugly head...that’s when mine started
ten years ago and not a dull moment since.
It’s up and down like the Loch Ness monster and night as well as daytime.
Not too bad at the moment though not like some of you.
In fact since the right side colon was removed then the sigmoid colon +........things have settled quite a bit......but reminders still occur.
Wish I had a magic potion to cure us all
Biggest problem now is my broken shoulder and upper arm.....taking so long to repair itself
Not a lot can be done apart from Physiotherapy and acupuncture..what a way to spend my pension...but then I’m lucky to have a pension.
Sooner be in the sunny Caribbean or other sunny climes.....would like to go where they have those beautiful ducks...
Winning.....

Hang in there folks, I hope the best for all of you. Remember, stress is our enemy. Be sure to take some time here and there to do something that you enjoy... even if it's only for a few minutes at a time. It always seems to make me feel better when things are rough.

Did get to the salon after a few dashes to toilets in town.Boy,can this old gal move when she has to hahaha. It was like the parting of the Red Sea.Trysha,I don't know how you manage crohns AND your other infirmities (to many to mention) too.You really do deserve a medal....or a trip to sunny climes.

Hi all. Sandy's mother is giving us a good scare right now. She is 89 years old she was taken to the hospital for chest pains, but did not show other signs of a heart attack. However they found she has 100% heart block, meaning the upper and lower chambers are not communicating properly with each other. Because of this the cardiologist is recommending a pacemaker be installed. Like Sandy said, they cannot do the surgery until her infection is dealt with. The infection may be in her heart, which is very scary for her. Today they have scheduled a scope with the ability to see the heart. This is to confirm if the infection is in her heart. If it is they cannot do the pacemaker at this time. This is a scary time for us.

Sandy i do hope they can fit the pacemaker soon and your mum can recover well. πŸ’πŸ’•.

Love to all :ghug:

The last McDonalds burger in Iceland was sold in 2000,but it can still be watched decomposing on a web cam...…

I look forward to any contradictions....hahaha

I hope it isn't a McDouble going to waste, one of my favorites when its time for a lunch stop on the weekly grocery trip. :(
My thoughts are with you Sandy and Doug for a good outcome from this. I'm going to take in the sunny winter day, we havn't had too many good days with all the wet weather.

Things don't look good for my mother in law. Several years ago she had a heart valve replacement. Over time the replacement valve has calcified and now is deteriorating. It is functioning at less than 50% efficiency. The cardiologist proposed another valve replacement but she does not want to have that surgery. She is 89 years old. She is tired and says she is ready to pass on. She is going to have the pacemaker because it will make her more comfortable, but the drs. Think her heart valve is rapidly deteriorating. Without the valve replacement they give her 5-6 weeks. This is such a difficult time for us.

Doug...sorry you have to go through this awful predicament.
If the docs feel she will come through it ok and will benefit then perhaps she could be persuaded to change her mind.
Also when she is so ill..is she capable of making a rational decision....or making one she might regret...
After all the pacemaker does require some surgery and comes with it’s own hazards.
Have the docs explained the benefits of both as well as the negative aspects.
They must feel she is capable of recovery from valve replacement.
It is so difficult for you and Sandy....needs lots of prayers..which I can do for you.
Keep your chins up....
Carol. Bin the burger or else it should be cultured to determine the bacterial content and whether there are pathogens setting up habitat....
I do not know where you find these items of interest.
Glad I don’t eat such lethal food items.
Temperatures dropping....snow getting closer....winter is near..better rush out to the stores
and stock up.on staples..you never know...
Have a good weekend Everyone...
Winning....

I (we) appreciate your kind words Trysha. I do know that no matter what, my entire family just wants my mom to be as comfortable as she can be with whatever time she has left. We also know she has felt ready to go for quite some time, even before these health problems arose. Tho she hasn't had any major health problems since her valve replacement many years ago other than some dementia which has been slow to progress (since she's been on meds for it), and eye problems, and some normal small things, she is quite old, and tired. It is still hard to know what direction to go. My sister who is mom's caretaker, my mother, and a counselor are all meeting Monday to discuss all options and we as siblings will be discussing such things after the meeting and my sister's report also.
Thanks for all your support and well wishes.

I'm currently alternating the YouTube and the Netflix... I hope all are well. I'm addicted to a series I'm watching right now...Lol. I want 2 double quarter pounders with cheese and a large fries... and not from the museum either! Fresh please! :)

I used to be a fan of the McDonald's fish fillet sandwich and fries but have not been able to eat that for years. Still miss that hot off the grill flavor...

Crispy chicken mayo wrap and a strawberry milk shake to go......oh happy days.It was never a regular thing but we used to call in on a Sunday on the way to the hills with Alfie. Not had a one for almost four yrs and would no doubt struggle to eat one now....but I could try.

On Fridays after work (long ago) I would buy a rib eye steak and that was my treat for the weekend. Or a prime rib burger. Now I settle for Cantonese food, which my body still finds edible.
I too am addicted to Netflix. I watched Rise of the Phoenixes which was 50 episodes, and now I'm addicted to Designated Survivor.

Right now it’s home made vegetable 🌢 🌽 πŸ… soup, toast and tea.....most days in fact.
Can’t contemplate food right now......wonder why...?
Sandy...hope things are a bit better for you today.
Currently filing shoeboxes...well there are now nice boxes large size in the dollar shops that I use.
I start off with the intent of filling two boxes...go shopping and return with enough for four or more..
I put in useful toiletries plus educational tools notebooks, geometry sets ,pencils, pens ,toys etc.Amazing what fits into a shoebox with careful planning.i choose a specific age group.
They are sent to a centre in Alberta who then distribute overseas to deprived children...to enjoy their Christmas.
I would love to see their faces when they open the boxes.
So we have arrived at another Remembrance Day.....my Dad served in both world wars..
he was in the trenches First World War and was mustard gassed in Ypres....left for dead
on the battlefield. Fortunately rescued by the Red Cross ☦️ who saved his life.
In later years he again joined up for the Second World War and stayed in England posted to bomb disposal...very sobering thought. He made it though.
It was supposed to be the war that ended all wars......
And where are we at today?........
Now to go for a walk in the cold 🌞 sunshine.....no snow yet...
Winning....

Long ago, after work, or after a ski day I would go to McDonalds and order up; Two big Macs or two quarter pounders, large fries, large shake and an apple pie.

Today its one Mcdouble and my bottle of water from home. On a really good day maybe sneak in a small fries with a chocolate sundae.

The best thing about being my age is that you know everything, but you have to deal with people who know nothing...…

What a lovely thing to do Trysha.I donate a gift to the Salvation Army for them to pass on.Usually for a teenager.I'm thinking about donatining " smellies" for teen boys this year.I think they tend to get overlooked...

Netflix, Inc. is an American media-services provider headquartered in Los Gatos, California. The company's primary business is its subscription-based streaming media service which offers online streaming of a library of films and television programs, including those produced in-house.
There's just a ton of stuff to watch, including British TV shows and movies, actually from many countries. I watched the Crown and some Downton Abbey.

Carol...that’s a good idea for the teenage boys..I leave that group alone when it comes to buying ideas but make a donation for the organization to take care of them.
You have to trust the organizers to do this and I have carefully researched them to do the right thing.
They do provide an itemized list of where the money goes...then we just have to trust them.
It is possible to go with them when and where the gift boxes are distributed and I would just love to do this...but probably would flunk the tropical health requirements...anyway I’m not yet strong enough to take on what would be a strenuous travel itinerary. Its enough to contemplate a transatlantic journey to England which I hope won’t be necessary just yet.
Have to get both my arms back in working order.
It’s lovely that you give to the Salvation Army...such good people as are many others.
Hope you are feeling better.......
The sun is making weak attempts to stride through the clouds...not yet
successful.
Now I have to shop for two more boxes πŸ“¦ to take the excess items and add a few more
They have to be in by the end of the week....my physiotherapist stores them for collection.
Can’t wait for the sunshine....I’m off to the 🏬 stores now......
Have a good day Everyone
Winning....

Tuff..thank you for the information
I pay enough to Bell for an inadequate offering of programmes and it boils down to watching
just two or three channels ...
They have an enormous number of sports stations..and whichI am not in the least interested
It could be an indictment of their system that we have to look elsewhere and pay more for
reasonable service,
I see you are also in Ontario...so I could get Netflix if I wanted....and maybe drop Bell..

I pay 11 bucks a month for Netflix and the first month was free. I have been finding all kinds of shows to watch. My father has Bell and he would like to switch to Telus so he can see hockey and baseball for less money. Hockey Night In Canada is good enough for me, good old Don Cherry's rants make me smile. :)

I had a Dishnetwork subscription for over 20 years. The service was great, and they even gave me a free DVR when hi definition HD tv evolved. It was an American company, but when our dollar was devalued it became too expensive with the exchange rate, I switched to Bell. Its a bit cheaper, but I still had to pay full price for the DVR and a watered down subscription. A DVR is a must because I will not wait for the commercials, if I had to I would get rid of the TV subscription, advertising today has become too long and too aggressive with their noisy marketing stategy.

Buff i totaly agree on the adverts 😑, i record as much as possible so i can fast forward through the adverts. Im with Virgin tv here in old blighty, they are not the cheapest but are better than most of the others re programme content, free repairs and upgrades on the boxes.

Hope you are all doing well. Love n hugs to everyone :ghug:πŸ’πŸ’•
