Why is Christmas like a day at the office ?.........You do all the work and the guy in the suit gets all the credit.

Feel much better now and had a walk through the park and on to the Sunday market.
Haven't eaten yet (3pm) but might have some porridge (oatmeal).

I hope your feeling better Scottsma, it sounds like your having a rough go. Today has been a slow start for me, no energy and i could sleep the day away if I allowed myself to do so. The gray skies after yesterday's sunshine doesn't help.

I blame the weather....
Having some success with acupuncture for pains...hope it lasts..
Makes me feel better......
Very cold overcast and snowy today...well it’s winter

May all aches and pains disappear, may the weather keep this earth (and us) healthy, may relationships be ever understanding of each other, all jobs and employment optimal, and may the world be filled with perfect doggies and kitties. (Oh oh! Got to run to the bathroom again. Can't stay out. ~sigh~)
Hugs from the dreamer. 💜
P.S. Cant wait for the Christmas party Chris. Hope your parents are ready for a house full of LOW loonies.:rof:

I am now working only 1 day a week until I retire on January 12th, 2018. It is a wonderful Christmas present. My supervisor told me to take a bunch of leave because I will lose it at retirement. So I am basically retired now. It is really strange. I know there is a long list of honey do's that will be coming, but as of right now I don't know for sure what they are. I will have time to do some woodworking this winter and spend more time out kayaking when spring gets here. It is an interesting holiday season this year!

Honey do #1: Doug, would you please rebuild our house, lol?:dusty:
P.S. Doug also didn't mention this, but Doug doesn't have to go back to work until after the new year, except for his retirement party next Wednesday. :thumright:

Wishing you the best , Doug.

Honey do #1. Make arrangements for a new water heater. Ours is leaking out the bottom of the unit. It is at least 15 years old. Merry Christmas.

Honey do list just changed. Our hot water heater just died.
~sigh~~sigh~~sigh~

Hi all...had a lovely peaceful restful duvet day yesterday. Jaxon day today so im ready for the onslaught of chaos ... lovely fun chaos though 😃😃

Hope everyone is well today 💕💝

Hope to get out on little blackie later.Streets are a bit frosty still, but it's a nice day if a wee bit crisp.

Doug.....enjoy your early "retirement" I know Sandy won't let you get bored but it can happen. And most important , KEEP WELL !!!

Hi I’m in UK now. It’s bloody cold here. I caught sinus throat and chest infection on day one of being here. So I’ve been resting to try and get rid of it. I’m hoping you are all ok.

Aw Kirsty.. not a great start to your visit. Hope it clears up soon. You both look well wrapped up ☺ . Ye english weather is cold and colder than usual at the mo. Hope you enjoy it here dispite the weather.💞

Its is foggy/misty here in mancheater today can barely see 100 yards up the road.

Kirsty, great to see you sweetheart.I knew you were on the move,so waited to here from you.It is pretty cold I agree, but temps are going to rise tomorrow and wed.into double figures. That means 10-11c so keep wrapped up just the same,You're looking good kid !!!

Carol iv just read that we are due strong winds around 70mph soon. The weather might be a bit rough too :rof:

Doug, you will enjoy retirement, its another brand new life full of possibilities.

Buford, I just realized that other than Doug's retirement party (sponsored by his work) this Wednesday, he only has two days he's required to work in January. Woohoo! We'll probably have a non work sponsored retirement party for friends and family in January. Then (finances permitting after Christmas, new hot water heater, etc.) we're going on a little vacation (holiday) to Zion National Park in mid January. Woo hoo!

Sandy make sure you purchase your new hotwater heater and not rent them like they try to lure people into contracts here. It might look cheap, but over the years it becomes a huge expense, going up and away like that hotwater heater that got away further up the page.

Our neighbor, who is a licensed plumber, installed a new water heater for us. We are back in the world of having hot water available. Bufford, I have never even heard of renting a water heater before, and I would never do that. We just spent $850.00 for the purchase. The timing of this, right at Christmas, is not very good.

For you, Carol:
(I think it might apply to me even with all my chin whiskers:lol:)

I'm also starting to think more and more like you Carol. A good friend recently sent me this pic, it seemed appropriate. 🙃😉(But I still want our LOW party at Chris's place). I haven't put our wreath up, no tree, but did put a garland across our mantle yesterday. Had to move our three Christmas cards to make room there. (Guess I should start sending them if I want to get any, huh?)

Doug & Sandy, I definitely feel for you on the big expensive but necessary purchase just before xmas. The hubby and I just paid off our new $3000 furnace. Wasn't exactly how I had hoped to spend part of my severance check, ugh. But heat, and hot water, are both things that none of us can live without.

I finally officially start the temp job tomorrow, and I should also find out tomorrow for sure if I've gotten the permanent job. I had the interview today and I am pretty sure I nailed it - the permanent job will be for the customer service call center for the stool sample place, and they had me read aloud a short sample phone script for that as part of the interview. The script had to do with stool samples and stool consistency. I realized about halfway through that some people probably get squeamish or embarrassed about talking out loud about stool samples and stool consistency, but obviously not me! :p So I think I'm a shoo-in but have to wait until tomorrow to find out officially. In the meantime, though, I do have the temp job for about a month at the same company. (The permanent job doesn't start until late January.)

I think I'm in a flare.Niggly pains etc. TMI alert....I had to visit the bathroom 3-4 time early this morning and didn't put the light on so as not to wake Les.Silly I know, given my situation. Not sure what I passed but felt like lots of mucus or blood.Maybe I shouldn't have gone on the bike the last couple of days,I sure didn't have much energy and struggled a bit....Going for the last shop before madness and chaos descends in the stores and on the roads, then a snuggle down with a good book.

Its quite common to find homes in Canada with hotwater tank rentals, and I always advise anyone who is buying a home with one of these to consider replacing the rental with a bought tank. Hot water tanks are one of the most reliable appliances found in the home which is why these rental companies spring up like weeds.

Cat...lots of success in the new adventure...
Winning......

Hi Carol,

You best tell your husband that you need to turn on the light or bring a flashlight with you, then you would have a better idea what's up. I'm concerned about you, take things easy if you can. I hope you are going to be okay, keep us up to date.

Chris.

Trysha im sure Doug wasnt in the movie 😃😃. It sounds as if your not too well so i hope you soon feel better 💕

Ron hope all is well with your kidney.💞

Hi Chris nice to see you. Hope your doing well 💝

Thanks Chris and friends....I'm ok,it was just the Gremlins letting me know they're still in residence, little buggers....

Carol, hope your feeling better soon, its tempting to go for that extra distance only to find out afterwards that it was too much. That ski trail has done it many times. Ron I hope your test will come up good, your doctor is on top of things is a blessing. Doug, this time of year is good timing for retirement, and have Christmas to top it all off. Congratulations.

I woke up early and just used those three seconds up. Sorry folks. :rof: now back to bed I go.:eek:utahere: Zzzzzz

Winning!
P.S. We have a street near us named Dreams End. Does that count? There just aren't any aforementioned type names near us. But my uncle's next-door- neighbor was named Gang Green. (His parents ought to have been strung up by their toe nails.)

Has anybody seen the 10,000 strong Japanese choir singing "Ode To Joy" today.? Mind blowing.!!!

Apparently it's a tradition going back to the war when POWs sang it.
The choir master loses four kilos (?) while performing.I think it's in OSAKA.Def.worth a look.:)

In this cold climate alcohol is quite popular, and as we all know drinking and driving don't mix. There is a bush road named Moving Post Rd, well known for those who have imbibed too much.

Sandy thats hilarious gang green haha reminds me of theresa green ☺. Any funny names will do. There was a lad at school when i used to supervise lunch breaks called joe king 😂 and no im not haha. Oh and ben down ☺

Merry Christmas to me, ITU for Christmas. Elevated white and red blood count. On antibiotics for awhile, but should be feeling better quickly.

It would not be Christmas without a trip to the doctors office or ER or Hospital, etc.. Thankfully this was just a visit to the insta care for Sandy.

It’s a white white world out there....matching snow filled white sky and sparkling frosty
green and white trees.....winter has descended upon us...
Now....how to get to the shops for last minute groceries....put skates on the walker of course...or borrow a sled....where there’s a will there’s a way....
Winning....

An Angels Song

The evening air was cold and chill —-as I lay weeping...silent...still
And sadly pondered the world span...and inhumanities of man.
The stars were shining twinkling light... Across the frosted lands of night
Natures cool beauty once again descends to clothe the northern plain.
Her cadences of ice and snow transform the trees and streets below
With filigrees of frosted lace
Their glittering elegance carry with grace.
A sparkling countryside unending...all melancholy thoughts transcending.
Quite suddenly the light skies darken..a lonely voice calls us to hearten.
A fragile form..one who is near and dear to us retreats in fear
As we respond ..and we dismiss the voice as winds of wintry ness.
This littlest angel...lost...forlorn....awaits for love and care to dawn.
Come Lord with grace and heavenly aid....assist me with these trials she prayed.
The cross grows heavier day by day...you seem to be so far away.
The snow is now so very deep...and miles to go before I sleep.
The Lord stretched out His hand to earth..and raised this angel to His side
And in his palm cradled, consoled and soothed away pains of deride.
The angel wept and then confided she had felt lost and forsaken
But ,He said, I am with you always...never let your faith be shaken.
Comforted ...the angel said..Lord..there’s one thing I’d like to know
How is it I can only see... one set of footprints in the snow ...for many miles?
He smiled and said.....that’s where I carried you below!

Trysha...

Mandy, as for rude/silly town names - I've been to a town in Oregon state called Boring. My mom and I giggled the entire drive through the town, because "Boring" was in front of everything - like, there was the Boring Fire Department, the Boring Library, etc. :p

And I haven't been to this town, but I believe there is also a town called Hell, Michigan.

Trysha, your poem above was probably my favorite. It literally had tears in my eyes. It was beautiful.

Chris, I'm loving your Christmas party. So snowy and bright here. (Guess what? Our area got snow for Christmas too.) It was funny Kirsty and Trev showed showed up a day early, they forgot it was was BC time and not NZ time. It's a good thing they are such good people.

Merry Christmas to one and all, even the bah humbugers. There is no better present than good friends, and you folks are the best. Merry Christmas!
