Doug & Sandy, I definitely feel for you on the big expensive but necessary purchase just before xmas. The hubby and I just paid off our new $3000 furnace. Wasn't exactly how I had hoped to spend part of my severance check, ugh. But heat, and hot water, are both things that none of us can live without.
I finally officially start the temp job tomorrow, and I should also find out tomorrow for sure if I've gotten the permanent job. I had the interview today and I am pretty sure I nailed it - the permanent job will be for the customer service call center for the stool sample place, and they had me read aloud a short sample phone script for that as part of the interview. The script had to do with stool samples and stool consistency. I realized about halfway through that some people probably get squeamish or embarrassed about talking out loud about stool samples and stool consistency, but obviously not me! [emoji14] So I think I'm a shoo-in but have to wait until tomorrow to find out officially. In the meantime, though, I do have the temp job for about a month at the same company. (The permanent job doesn't start until late January.)
