Thought I would check in. Like most of the world, the states have been closing businesses where people congregate, like restaurants, theaters, etc. Grocery stores are open though. I have not seen toilet paper in a store for 2 weeks. Luckily we have a small supply. People buy the stuff as soon as it lands on the store shelves. The store is limiting shoppers to 1 package each and the still can't keep it in stock. Utah had its first death from the coronavirus yesterday. It was a man above 60 years old from our own county. Very sad. In the midst of all this, we had a earthquake! 5.7 on the richter scale. I thought the house was coming down, it lasted so long. We have had hundreds of aftershocks, none as strong as the main shock. Most aftershocks are very minor shaking. It has been a scary time here.
On Friday I had a EGD performed. It was in response to my recent flare. The EGD found 2 healing ulcers in my stomach. Also, there is a finding of possible Barrett's Esophagus. That is a pre cancerous condition, caused by stomach acid entering the base of the esophagus. We are waiting for the biopsies to be returned, but my G.I. is sure it is Barrett's. I am on prescription strength Omeprazole to control the stomach acids. I am now scheduled for a EGD every 2 years to observe the Barrett's.
Sandy asked me to say HI and let you know she is doing well. She is scared about the coronavirus because of her health history, but doing OK otherwise.
