hey Carol , my BETTER half got her jab on Saturday , so much relief in the house now , country is opened up for travel now so can travel a bit more if we want , so expect the odd photo from out travels , as usual hope everyone is doing a little better and stay safe .

Looks lovely Tony
So sorry you are treading deep waters Chris......hope thingd will smooth out for you.
Whats May 4. Carol?
Just recovering from a drug reaction..holy horrors
My doctor did not agree with my diagnosis and ordered tons of bloodwork plus an ECG......plus a cardio consult.
All done over the mighty phone.......
Meantime I stopped the offending drug and now making good recovery.
Stay well Everyone

Oh,Trysha,at last.I know we've all been worried about you but didn't want to speculate as to why,so we've kept quiet about your absence.I can't tell you how relieved I am that you're such a fighter and hopefully back with us for the foreseeable future.May the 4th be with you, is a well known skit of Star Wars movies. It's supposed to be May the Force be with you but a common saying on May 4th.
I hope you continue to improve and I look forward to having to explain some things to you (tongue in cheek) I wish Mandy would show up soon too.

I like a man who knows his place hahaha. But I know you wouldn't want it any other way.

on top of covid our health service has been hijacked by ransomware , every computer in our health system has to be taken off line , they can still do the vaccines but its slowing things up considerably ,
what a world we live in that scum hackers would target a country's health system .

I'm at that time in my life when everyone I've known is passing over. It's getting so frequent that I fear for those few that are left.Including myself.
But I'll come to terms with it soon and life will go on until the next time

Thankyou my friend, loved that.....but had a tear in my eye because you went to the trouble for me.Now I'll be having a little dance while I do the washing up or get the vac out.
I do feel better now.I was having a little pity party this morning and feel selfish about it now.Another friend of 40yrs died of pancreatic cancer last night after a years fight. But I've got a good life and a happy one and Les is doing great after a worrying 2yrs.I hope you and yours are as good as can be.

I've finally reached the wonder years.....
I wonder where I parked the car ?
I wonder where my phone is ?
I wonder what day it is ?

Are you OK Chris ? We worry when your not your usual cheerful self.
Tony, Les has senior "moments" 24hrs a day....I'm hanging on for both of us but it's fast becoming a losing battle....

I seemed to have missed a lot of posts. I had a bang on my door this afternoon. It was a really loud nock. My sixth sense told be I should put my hands up when I opened the door. I was right there were two police standing there. Fortunately their guns were still in their holsters. The guy in the lead asked if this was unit one and I breathed out . Sorry mate no 3 here , one is the other end of the house. They thanked me and trotted off. I don't think Byron was home. I saw him earlier and he was in the company of some really rough looking ,rough speaking individuals. don't think we have seen or heard the last of it, the police looked like they meant business. We shall see. Ron.

It's the little troubles in life that keeps things interesting Ron,especially when the trouble is somebody elses. Sounds like Byron's a bit of a lad. I think there's one or two Byrons in most streets nowadays

Good one, Carol! I just finished siphoning 40 litres of ten year old gas out of my truck. That sure was fun. I took a good look at it and it was fairly clean and clear... At least it isn't varnish yet... That would really clog things up. I'm going to throw a battery and some fresh gas in it tomorrow and maybe it will run. We shall see.

Hi Everybody
Good to see you all in good form....psychologically....
Had another rollercoaster but so much better now...thanks to my expert
physiotherapist/ acupuncturist who is more skilled than many docs.
Had my cardio appointment today...went well I think..
The cardiologist was quite thorough ..i had a cardiogram before he saw me..and afterwards a lengthy ultrasound ...it took so long I dozed off..
Must have been ok. Since I went home afterwards
I think the problem is with my ears ...
We are into quite an uncomfortable 🥵 heatwave right now.
Hope things go better for you Chris
Carol..hope Les improves..
Cheers!!

It's so good to hear from you Trysha and I'm very pleased to hear you're feeling a tad better.Shall I forward your application for 2022 London Marathon ? No,me neither, them days is long gone. Keep on fighting though x

We had Harrison Ford down at the quay yesterday. He's filming the next Raiders movie in the area.Just visiting yesterday though.
Tom Cruise was a few miles down the country recently doing the next M.I.
We're lucky to live in such a lovely and historical place....thing is we can't go anywhere for full car parks and rubber- neckers. But good for the local economy.

Apparently Harrison is doing 40mls per day on his bike (minders cycling with him and a limo following ) so when we went for a cycle this morning we made sure Les had his heart spray handy just in case we came across Indiana struggling up a hill, silly old duffer.....Indi not Les.

It saddens me to tell you all but I won't be around for awhile.Hubby is complaining that I'm online far to much and that I'm neglecting him,so it's him or the forum he says........as soon as I pack his bags and phone a taxi for him,I'll be back.See you in half an hour chronies

Police pulled me over and strolled up to my car and said, sarcasticaly,"Have a guess " so I answered "30" ?
he replied "45"
"It must be that hat" I smiled "It takes years off you,I'll have to get one"........
Please send a cake with a file in...

well got the appointment for my second AZ vaccine jab for next friday , wife is still waiting for hers , 60-69 here in Ireland being treated like second class citizens , 40's and 50's got the pfizer doses , so were fully vaccinated in a month , us 60 year olds initially told take astra zenaca or go to the back of the queue and wait for 12 weeks for your second dose , they have since brought this forward to 8 weeks , GOD SAVE IRELAND , because our politicians certainly won't , rant over .

18-20 yr olds are getting their jabs now,but to be honest I don't think "they" know what they're doing.Every day there's a different rule.do this not that, don't go there.Masks, distance etc are not being followed.sports and festivals are allowing thousands in,supposedly being monitored by the government to see if the vaccines are doing the job...... we're sticking to our original plans....keeping to our selves as best as we can.

keeping to yourself is definitely the best thing we can do , we have been masking since february 2020 and will continue to do so well into the future , in this case prevention is definitely better than the cure .

now there doing a complete youturn and giving astra zenaca and j and j to everyone because they are going to have hundreds of thousands of those vaccines left on the shelf , they are allowing people to opt in if they want a quicker vaccine .

In other news... We had our first armed robbery in over five years. A handgun was displayed at the drug store a block or so down the street and an Asian man made off with an undisclosed amount of narcotics. Try it on me you bugger! Last mistake you'll ever make!

Me and hubby were just saying that we should have self defence lessons. He was well able to get stuck in until all the health issues started and I wouldn't be scared to have a go, but you realise how vulnerable you are when you age......A wet start to the day and quite cool, but dry and sunny now at 4-15pm......hope it's cooled down over there Chris.

I know how your hubby feels Carol , the mind says go for it , and the body says , not today buddy , the things I really miss about aging is when I'm out walking and being able to jump over a wall or a ditch and land easily and keep going , if I do that now I'm worried something will fall apart on landing , but I can's complain too much despite crohn's/colitis I was very active for a long time ,

Chris we are lucky here in Ireland and the UK , guns are a rarity and most police on patrol don't even carry guns , shootings mostly involve turf wars between drug dealers .

Husband.....scientists have found that men say 10,000 words a day and women 20,000.
Wife from the kitchen....that's because we have to keep repeating everything to you blockheads !!!
Husband....What ???

Sorted the attic today...a good heap for charity and some for the dump.
The trouble with an attic is that it's easy to put stuff out of sight, instead of disposing of it straight away.I'm going to try very hard not to do it in the future,in fact I might put a few 6in nails in the entrance.

I've decided I'm going to be that old person that people are frightened to ask out to the pub.........thinking about it, it's been a loooooong time since anybody did, so perhaps I'm older than I think I am

Had a busy time with a friend who has been diagnosed an early Alzheimer patient...
she has been failing for almost two years now.....I am concerned that her thyroid
status has not been recently checked....her doc says it was done a year ago ....
Her memory for recent and present timethings can be non existent ......
but she recalls things in the past quite well.
Its possible she will soon be in a nursing home....so sad....she says that she does not want to move from her apartment.
Its good to see you all present and correct on this page...sprightly as ever ,,!!
Winning!........what else

It is a very sad situation...today she says she will have to go into a nursing home
since she does not want to be a burden on others.
Trouble is she does not remember what she is saying or doing.....healthwise I am feeling better but not yet out of the woods.
Hope you are keeping well
Winning........

Hi everyone , had a bad day yesterday and today is going to be worse , our lovely dog Alfie bit me fairly well yesterday and this was not the first time but the worst , he has had behaviour problems for a couple of years now and has gotten progressively worse ,
we have decided as a family to have him put to sleep tomorrow and its breaking my heart , 99% of the time he is a lovely playful dog but every now and then he becomes strange and if provoked in the slightest he attacks , yesterday we had been swimming in the sea and we were sitting in the garden and I noticed a bit of seaweed hanging off his rear end , I pulled it off and he turned around growling and then lunged and bit me ,
I managed to fight him offf and two minutes later he was back to normal , except for the fact that I had a nasty bite and haematoma on my upper thigh ,

cant for the life of me understand it , its breaking my heart but I really think we have no option , I have had dogs all my life and have never had this happen to me before , we did out research when we were buying Alfie , checked bloodlines ,hip scores everything .

I'm very sorry for your loss, Tony. We lost ours to old age two months ago yesterday. You did what had to be done, imagine if it had been a child who was bitten. R.I.P. Alfie.

a kind friend sent me a link to a dog adoption site , apparently the shelters are overrun with dogs as people are getting rid of dogs they had to have during the lockdown ,
it got me to thinking , how soon should you get another dog ? , we have lots of love to give but it would be kind of a betrayal to Alfie to get a dog so soon , Alfie in my mind anyway was going to be my last dog and I was hoping i would go into my 70's with Alfie ageing along side me .

Oh Tony.what do the rest of the family want to do ? You're obviously perfect dog people and there are so many poor animals waiting for a home
and love like you can offer. You gave Alfie your best so don't beat yourself up.He's waiting over Rainbow Bridge now with your other dogs, and having a great time.If you decide to go ahead get a different breed and maybe a bitch,so you won't be tempted to compare them.My (our) life will never be as happy as it was when we had dogs, but not having another was right for us.Anyway,I'm a wee bit older than you (hahaha) and we don't have the family support that you have. Whatever you decide will be right for you.

Only you can make that decision Tony...
it is so hard to lose our lovely pets...I had a miniature French poodle...not so
miniature..she weighed around thirty pounds and could pull me over,
she was 19 when she succumbed to pancreatic cancer...I feel sure it was the dogfood caused it.The vet gave her 3weeks to live...I removed all dog food and gave her best chicken breasts with rice ...she lived another two years before
It got the better of her.I still miss her and it was 15 years.ago....before I sold my house.
although small dogs are allowed in the apartment building where I now reside
I will not subject any animal to apartment living...much though I would dearly love another like her.
One tenant here has a small pram...she says it is for dogs....and she pushes her dog around to take him for a walk ..sometimes I could get in there with him...!!,,
Cheers!
