I hope every is one coping with all the worrying news,Life is so depressing now but it's not half as bad for most of us,as it is for the Ukranians....Bless them all.

After careful consideration and after much thought, I'm not going anywhere near Ukraine. I've made up my mind for various reasons that are obvious, and some maybe not as obvious. I'm convinced I would be as much use here on this side of the world as the other. Ukraine has said yesterday that out of a 42 million population only around 2-3 million have left the country and there is no shortage of manpower apparently. They have also reported that they don't want soldiers without combat experience. That rules me out on both. Not a soldier/no combat experience and apparently they have enough help otherwise. That settles it! I'll be around. Keep well all!

Just thought I'd pop in hoping all's well. It's very quiet on here lately, maybe because of the war,we don't feel like being our jolly selves. Also covid is rearing its ugly head again..........

Thanks Tony,it made me smile for the first time in a while ......I had an Irish friend a few years ago who was so hyper he bounced off the walls, maybe you know him
His name was Rick O'Shea ?............Sorry Tony, bet you're fed up with the jokes about your fellow countrymen

Hey Carol Brucie and M and Wise always made me laugh ,so innocent yet so funny ,we could do with more or them nowadays ,
And if you can't laugh at yourself you would be miserable ,anyway half of England has Irish roots ,I have more English cousins than Irish cousins ,
It's our 'cunning plan " to take over that side of the pond , take care Carol

A gravestone in Honley Churchyard is inscribed:

"Where ere you be, let your wind blow free, for it is the wind, that killeth thee."

My alerts are working so I'm quicksilver @ WINNING ,

Hey Carol , lovely day here today ,makes everything seem better , sitting in the garden reading a good book , drinking nice tea (real tea not Tbags ) and having some nice sultana cake baked fresh today ,life is good

Sounds a perfect day Tony........I just want to say that I hope you and Chris don't have the impression that I'm rough and uncouth
due to the low standard of some of my input.I'm honestly good mannered and nicely spoken (for a Geordie) and wouldn't even say "fart" out loud in your presence.Just wanted to assure you that I won't embarrass either of you if we should ever meet up........

A nice day but boy oh boy the great unwashed are out in droves,Living at the mouth of the river (more or less) with a good coastline and accessible beaches,a nice park over the road and a Victorian market a 10min walk away means every one and their auntie make a bee-line for it from now until whenever. It's not so much the people (yes it is ) but the traffic,Utter madness and stressful,But that's the price you pay,,,,,,,,,,,winning AGAIN !!!

I know the feeling we are about 200 m from the water ,lucky thought it's very rocky and keeps those kind of people away 😁

How long is that cuddly toy going to keep it's stuffing? I really miss those days, just relaxing and enjoying the moment.Life is definately not as enjoyable and fun as it was for more than 50yrs,but at least I had them......I think yesterdays mood was the onset of a really bad night and morning,so I'm having a lazy PJ day and hope I feel better tomorrow.Hope your weather's better than ours today.

Doing okay here for the most part, Tony. I've pretty well kicked the Kung Flu. Still a bit of fatigue but on the upswing for sure. My mother is still having quite a go of it, however she is slowly getting her strength back. Things seem to be headed in the right direction anyhow. Cheers...

Hey Carol she is the least destructive golden we have ever had , so no soft toys destroyed yet , relaxing days are good especially if the weather is crap, had a bad night last night with joint pain so had a lazy day myself today , hope both of us are doing better tomorrow , I had two big quarter pounders just now and they definitely cheered me up , hope I won't regret it , be well Carol

Hope you and your mother recover quickly Chris , so far we have avoided it (we think) , hopefully next year will see the back of the bloody thing ,things here in Ireland are slowly getting back to normal thanks to over 90% of the population being vaccinated , be well my friend

U.S. President Ronald Reagan Joke

Buying a car in Russia is not quite so easy as buying a car in the United States. There's a terrible automobile shortage so you have to pay the money up front and then wait, sometimes many years, until a car is made available to you.
On one occasion, at the height of the shortage, a man went down to his local dealership to buy a car. After he had accepted the man's money and the paperwork had been signed, the dealer informed the man that his car would be ready in 10 years and that he could come back then and pick it up.
Taking note of the date, the man turned to leave but paused on his way out the door and asked, "morning or afternoon?"
"It's 10 years from now, what difference does it make?" replied the dealer.
The man replied, ..."Well, the plumber is coming to fix the sink in the morning."

Sending kind thoughts to you both Chris,Don't expect too much of yourself, just take it easy.I know Les and I were both very fatigued for a week or two after we were clear. You mom may take longer to pull round. Big hugs to you x

Did a pre surgery assessment last week , op is to get rid of remaining colon and gall bladder , still undecided , don't know if I want to be a Ken doll but needs must .

Had a severe heart attack two weeks ago…..saved by an incredible cardiac team….still in hospital surrounded by Covid……no visitors.
Hi to Everybody……I see you are all in fine form
had trouble remembering how to get back into the forum…..made it
Cheers Everybody…

Good to see you Trysha and hope you're on the mend....no-one can accuse you of doing things by half eh ?
I'm not going to lecture you,you know what you need to do, just want to say I'm really happy you're here as I have been concerned
about you. When one of our friends disappear we can only wait and hope.Sending hugs x

Hi Carol and Tony
thank you for the kind wishes
still in a Covid lockdown hospital cardiac ward but Progressing well towards the exit.
ii am still amazed at the successful rescue from worse things.
I can’t wait to get out of here now…I am overstaying my welcome I think.
Cheers Everyone

Now have fluid on lungs…..never rains but pours
cant go to rehab programme yet
stuck in a semi private room with a bad tempered obstreperous male patient…woman hater..so rude to the nurses who are really good with him.
Hoping for a private room, but with covid there are none available yet.
worse things happen at sea……
at least I can see the sun shining out there.
Cheers Everyone

Awe Trysha just what you don't need,a miserable old bugger in the same room. How do they expect you to get well in those circumstances ?Mind you, when Les was in hospital re: his cancer,a chap in the bed opposite tried to murder the old fellow in the bed next to him during the night !!! So if you feel worried tell the staff .I hope you feel better soon and although you probably can't wait to get home you're in the best place for now. x

Well said Carol
glad to be home at last ….no place like it…so peaceful and quiet away from groan a lots…
now to get back on my feet…..not so easy as it seemed….
hope everyone is enjoying a good Saturday afternoon..
I am watching the lovely fishes swimming in the TV aquarium…..very tranquil..
cheers! Everybody

Trysha I hope you have someone to help with shopping etc.As Tony says,we all do better at home and appreciate doing our own thing without being watched. But you needed the time in hospital so don't be impatient to undo the good work you've had.
Very best wishes to you x

All behind like the cows tail
still recovering but nearly there……
there are so many docs checking on me through their residents…cant keep up with it all
tests, tests and more tests,CAT scan ,cardiology checks etc etc.
it’s really quite tiring to even think of the schedule.
I just would rather have a nice quiet life now.
thanks Everyone for all the kind thoughts
winning…….

ESP for Carol

Hi Everyone….back again
Apparently the formation of blood clots may indicate a
cancer somewhere in the body.
just had repeat mammogram and ultrasound…now they want to
schedule a biopsy.
not yet fixed a date since care must be taken if the apixoban
(Eliquis) blood thinner is discontinued…blood clots can form without it.
My consent has not yet been given…..
I read of a new approach being used in the USA….no
biopsy needed.
might be best to wait for that.
Hoping it will be negative with all the tests…hmm…did I just see a pig flying
past the window?..
winning………

Hi Trysha, good to hear you're still fighting the good fight with all your might. I think about you often and look forward to reading your book The Trials Of Trysha And How She Overcame Them.......due on the book shelves very soon. Sending hugs your way x

I might just write a book Carol…there are many things could go into that especially our first years in Canada……
biopsy scheduled for this Wednesday….not superstitious about thirteen…...
Just finished the housework chores ahead of Wednesday….don’t know if I will end up temporarily with only one useable arm….
Depends on the extent of the biopsy……can’t wait to get it over and done with.
Its a hot sunny day here but my apartment stays fairly cool….no need for air conditioner.
winning……

We'll be thinking about you Trysha, This time tomorrow it will be all over. I think, for me at least, that it's not the actual tests etc, just the days leading up to it..... worse when you've been through it all before. Sending kind thoughts and gentle hugs your way x

Things were better than I expected and went well ….no glitches.
local anesthetic was used…so why I had to fast is anyones guess.
Fasting is no problem for me it’s eating enough that’s the problem.
the procedure went well…uncomfortable…bearable…practically painless…and three biopsies taken..then
a small marker was inserted and will stay there forever I was told.
I think it’s because they want to be able to go back to the same area if necessary.
takes up to six weeks for results…my guess is two weeks and I will know the result.
they are optimistic and said most are negative.
Maybe I will get lucky in my old age.
Winning…….

That sounds positive, at least for the time being, You'll be happy to put yesterday behind you . Try to relax and switch off for now, Maybe write a draft for the Trauma's Of Trysha if you find relaxing a chore. Hugs x

Why does a negative appear on the horizon after putting other events behind ….
My astute GP when studying the full body CT scan report, found a vein overlapping the coronary artery.Initially my feeling was so what….!!! an ill considered reaction…I know the vein is out of place and does not belong there….
Within a day I received a call from the cardiologist office to report to them Monday
afternoon…..
I am thinking…(probably too much)……did they displace the vein during the procedure to place the stents……..hmmmmm???
so now what happens…….you got the Perils of Pauline right Carol.l,I would venture to say dead on.
will I be getting a bad name as an overly inquisitive patient……?
So I am keeping Perilous Pauline company at the edge of the cliff….
Winning……..ever hopeful….

This little flower has been wilting in the heat the last couple of days Trysha......but at least our home hasn't burned down.Unbelievable for the UK but it looks like we're going to have to learn to live with it.......I can't speak for any one else.but I hope they're all safe. Are you feeling OK Trysha ? I know you won't have had any results yet but just get through each day as best you can.At least your medical care is far better than ours. Not saying the medics/ ambulance teams etc are to blame of course.I just read about a lady (ex nurse) with a heart condition whose husband drove 300mls with her from Cornwall to London as it was quicker than waiting in A+E at the many hospitals they called at on the way. It's really scarey eh ?

No it was not…
when I returned to this page nobody was around forever and I did not know where you
went to….especially with the changeable hot weather….so I took off without saying anything….
Have a lovely day

Good to see you Trysha.....that's what I've been doing.Having a looksee, and if no-ones about, leaving it until the next time.I hope you're doing OK me darlin' and not having any set -backs.It's very warm here to say the least,so trying not to over do things.Be good and take care xx...........Tony ! are you OK ?

Hi Carol…good to see you too….
going from strength to strength…no setbacks so far..Just going for my fifth appointment in
six weeks
to the ophthalmologist..l.
he says there are some problems…I did not listen and said..I can still see so it’s ok.
Macular degeneration plus cataracts…… +++
Sure to outlive them.
Hoping you are keeping well as possible
We also have the heat but I am used to it and air conditioning is the norm here.
there are also cooling rooms downtown…never found them and did not need them…
The stores are freezing and it’s good to get out in the warm….

I have the same eye problems Trysha but the MD and cataracts are pretty slow to cause big problems yet.As long as I can read a book and watch TV I can cope,,,,Happy to hear you're doing OK,you've had such a long hard struggle these last few years.

One year older today…..none the wiser…
lovely sunny day and comfortable weather for walking

Happy Birthday Trysha. hugs and kind thoughts coming your way.......Go easy on the cake and DON'T do the Hokey Cokey even if you've had a sherry or two xxxx

Thank you Carol
Good advice….
can’t touch any alcohol…just a few sips knocks me out…think I’m allergic to it..have to stick to tea or water…
good thought though…
Pretty good on my feet again though.

Hey, Tony !!!! I was worried.......Either you've been sick.been on a cruise or been doing porridge, but good to have you back.

Hey Carol internet was really poor but on the positive side we just got fibre broadband, health wise can’t complain too much ,joints are aching, gall bladder is pounding and could be losing my remaining bit of colon , if it goes ahead no one can call me an a@&hole because I won’t have one 😀,
Anyway the high temps here have decreased and we can get outside again ,
In other news our little Ellie has come into season , so that’s a new experience ,

If that's NOT complaining about your health too much ,then heaven help us (kidding)

Thought for the day.....There are 49 million kangaroos in Australia and 3:9 million people in Uraguay. If kangaroos invaded Uraguay each person would have to fight 14 ' roos.

Just sayin'

Being honest all my niggles are little ones , the only thing that I can’t really do is walk the dog because of the joint pain , In my family they calll me the creaking door ,makes a lot of noise but never falls

I can relate to the creaking door syndrome…..but find the acupuncture very helpful
in relieving aches and pains.
feeling better every day now…hopefully the doctor appointments will get less..
winning….

Hey Trysha I must give the acupuncture a try , I’m poisoned from painkillers that have very little effect

We actually got rid of the car last September. We reckoned we could do without it as we've got bikes, and buses stop at the bottom of the street. Also the coast etc are very close. But never the less,it was a foolish idea.Walking back from town turned out to be a torment due to back pain, and although only a 15min walk at most ( in better times),I was close to tears by the time we reached home.So we now have four wheels again after ten months of torture and boy do I appreciate it. Good to hear positive news Trysha.Long may it last.

There’s a time and place for a car….you found it Carol..
I have never driven and depend on walking or buses…..I am a good walker
when free of other distractions.
Tony…acupuncture is worth a try for you
i was sceptical at first but ended up amazed at what it can do.
i started going to the physiotherapist because of problems after a replacement…
then I was introduced to acupuncture.
sometimes the pain relief is immediate…..quite surprising

How you doing Trysha and Tony ? Nothing much happening here, which is a good thing really. Keep well and content.x

Hey Carol , just enjoying the nice weather , watching the world drift by , up early with the doggie , sit outside in the sun listening to music and reading , not a bad life
