My therapist told me "write letters to the people you hate, then burn them"
I did that, but now I don't know what to do with the letters.

How you doin' Tony ?
Trysha, hope you're being your stalwart self and battling on against all adversity, sending hugs your way,

It's lovely to see you again Madhu.I hope you, and of course your husband, are keeping well.I bet that baby girl is running all over the place eh? I think you called her Ava ? Excuse me if I'm wrong, senior moments are getting to be a problem hahaha.

During the Middle Ages they celebrated the end of the Plague with wine and orgies.....does anyone know if they have anything like this planned when this ones over.....and can I bring whiskey as wine gives me a headache ?

well its that time again , COLONOSCOPY DAY TOMORROW , just started the prep, picolax not the poison that the doctor prescribed , so waiting for the fun to start , then on Friday I have an appointment with a colorectal surgeon with the view of going the Ken doll way , so fun and games ahead

Oh Tony, bless you.I was going to say I'll be thinking about you,but I'll try not to.......Not having a good day myself.I could have the colonoscopy without the prep if you get my meaning.

Hope things went well for you Tony
On a bit of a roller coaster myself right now
Saw the GI Wednesday....he says scopes needed but does not want to go in yet
because of all the covid patients taking time and space.
He said to go to ER if unable to cope...
Not likely says me...rather keep out of those places if I can....
Thanks for the kind thought Carol..
Winning....

Trysha please don't ignore things that you know you shouldn't,although I do understand why you might. You've fought like a Trojan for so long it would have all been in vein, vane (sp?) if you let the bugger win now.
I hope your family are keeping well too.

weather back to normal here , dull grey skies and 17/18 c , but its not raining , trying to sych up to going for a swim but cosy couch is WINNING

should have posted in othe thread but the couch is still WINNING

Went to rheumatologist and GI (colonoscopy ) in the last few weeks and whilst they both agree i should be on anti tnf for joint pain , they are both trying to get the other one to make the decision , its seems to be all about their departments budgets and each are only allowed to prescribe a certain ammount , madness and really annoying .

You'll feel much better if you have a swim Tony. Then get on the couch and feel smug........I often wonder if my back pain has something to do with crohns.Crohns since 2006 and back ache getting steadily worse since 2010...I noticed when on a course of steroids last year that I had no backache. It's bad when I stand, ironing, cooking etc for an hour,or when walking for over an hour and when toilet visits are many.Which for me is daily. I mentoined it to IBD nurse who passed it on to consultant, but that was as far as it went.I 'll make sure I take notice next time I'm on steroids.Of course,I'm getting decrepit now,so that might be it.

Somethings are better left unsaid, but eventually I'll have a couple of drinks and say them anyway.
Im at the stage now where i dont even need the drink anymore and i'll say it anyway , Chris my wife confiscates all sharp objects from me because she can't listen to me complain when i cut myself .

Hi everyone! Letting you guys know Sandy and I are still alive and kicking! I just saw my G.I. I have been having some gut issues and have been scheduled for another colonoscopy. 😒. Other than a lot of the D, and some of and on pain, I feel good.

Hey Doug,

Great to see you around. Please say hi to Sandy for me. ;^) I hope you get to feeling better soon, and those annoying invasive procedures are over with. I wish you the best my friend. Cheers.

Hey! Sorry I didn't mean to run off again. I don't have the app on my phone anymore. So it's really hard to track messages. Anybody uses an app they recommend for this forum?

We are all well. Husband is still on remicade. Health issues on and off, cursing life but hanging in there. Baby girl is not a baby anymore, haha. Her name is Laya :) She will be 3 years old in December. We just started sending her to school and she is bringing us all kinds of germs as gifts :)

I hope you all are keeping well. I miss talking to you all regularly. I'm going to leave this window open on my laptop, so I get notifications.

I thought Laya would be about that age now.Such a long time for her and such short time for us.She's gone from a "bump" to a school girl in the blink of an eye.Lovely to hear from you Madhu.Keep well and happy all of you.

It's really cool to hear from you. Keep in touch, Madhu. I hope you all stay safe and as healthy as can be.

Thanks to all the panic buyers by the time I'd been to the supermarket and queued for petrol my Xmas turkey and frozen veg.had defrosted.
Lots of petrol over here in the EU ,ye are more than welcome to come back and rejoin if ye want ,we'll even throw in a fresh turkey ,
Jokes aside hope ye get this sorted soon .

Things are starting to get a bit more normal , had a ultrasound on gallbladder yesterday and have two appointments with 2 different surgeons in the next two weeks ,hopefully these won't be cancelled this time ,hope yourself and hubby are doing OK

Thanks we are well,Tony. The hospital apts.haven't been a problem and luckily neither of us have needed to see a GP for a while. But we hear some worrying horror stories.Best to you and yours my friend.

Good to see you all in such good form…psychologically if not physically.
will be getting a check on neck arteries in a few more days..GP says 98% blocked
he has ordered two pages of lab work for the same time.
Cant believe all they say…and these telephone check ups are for the birds.
I have not seen him in almost two years…but he phones every two months and refers where needed.
I had a hideous rash on both forearms which he diagnosed over the phone as being due to low dose aspirin…..who knows he may be right…but he never saw it.
it lasted several weeks and started at bright red, patches going to dark blue then brown and
finally fading to very pale brown before disappearing.
A person in my building said he had it and it’s due to prednisone…..
so who to believe?
I changed the aspirin brand …so far so good…no more rash….(yet)
My GI sees me in his office (surgery) as does the eye specialist.
so I feel the GP should do likewise.
losing my confidence in doctors these days.
Apart from sharing some symptoms with Tony and Carol I am feeling a bit better…
Just taking one day at-a time….
Cheers Everyone.

Hey Trysha SOME doctors just seem to not care anymore and just go through the motions ,
My GPS started off brilliant but now all she seems to care about is the money ,
I'm lucky in having a brilliant and caring GI who fights for me all the time ,
Glad you're doing well psychologically anyway ,that helps a lot ,
I'm doing a lot of swimming in the sea which helps a lot that way (even if it means changing my ostomy base plate afterwards)
We are also lucky in having some lovely places to go visit within a few hundred km and in the last month drove around 5000km and loved it ,
Hope you get a little relief soon , good thoughts and some prayers from Ireland heading your way ,

Hey Chris and Carol

Sorry to hear you're going through the mill Trysha......I have a small poster in the kitchen which says "Get up,survive,go back to bed, repeat " but life's not much fun for you lately eh ? We're OK. Les has been for a blood test to keep an eye on his prostate, and is doing well after his ailments of the last couple of years.Going for our flu jabs on Wed. and MAYBE 3rd Covid jab. We're in better shape than the country, that's for sure.Peace and Love my friends x

Good to hear from you all... Trysha, I'm thinking of you. Prayers that things will improve for you soon. Good poster, Carol! I'm happy to hear you've been having a little fun, Tony. Keep on keeping on everybody. All the best. XX

That’s awesome Tony. Thank you for sharing. It would be awesome if I could go there one day. My husband is an Irish man it would be great to visit where he came from.

we can't guarantee blue skys and heat , but in general you can get out and do stuff here 90% of the time , even on bad days it can be beautiful , would reccomend it .

A little bit of update from me - Just before the pandemic started last year, I went to India with my daughter to visit family after 4 years. My husband was suppose to join us in 3 weeks, but the world toppled due to covid and we got stuck there while he got stuck alone in the US. We were separated for 6 months until we figured out a way to come back to the US. In the meantime, he got the shingles virus (Thanks Remicade!) and had to be hospitalized when we were apart. Things improved slowly, once I came back I started grad school and I now have a master's degree. With a 20 month old baby, husband working from home, managing the household in a pandemic, I will never understand how we did it, but we did :) I received my diploma in the mail yesterday and I'm currently hunting for jobs. My daughter started school last month, so we finally are getting some time to ourselves. I hope you're all keeping well xx

I have a huge respect for you Madhu. It must have been a real worry for you both being apart, but you've put that behind you and soldiered on.Very best wishes to you and I'm sure you'll find a job you'll love very soon......big hugs.

The food inspector visiting a bakery catches Paddy (sorry Tony) using his dentures to put a pattern around the edge of an apple pies.
"Have you got no tool " she roared
"Yes"
replied Paddy "but I use that for the doughnuts "

Madhu.sorry for the rude post....it was meant for Tony & Chris.
But I noticed your thumbs up so maybe I don't need to apologise after all'
Hope the job search is not wearing you down and that your lovely family are keeping well

Drinking with Jesus
An Australian, an Irishman an Englishman and one other man was sitting in a bar.

They stared and stared, and looked again and realised it was Jesus himself, sitting alone at a table.

The Irishman calls out, "Hey! You!!! Are you Jesus?"

The man looks over at him, smiles and says "yes I am"

The Irishman says to the bartender give Jesus over there a pint of Guinness from me."

The bartender pours Jesus a Guinness and takes it over to him

Jesus looks over, raises his glass, smiles and drinks.

The Englishman then says, "How d you do Sir and would you be Jesus?"

Jesus smiles and says, "Yes, I am Jesus."

The Englishman beckons the bartender and tells him to send over a Pint of Newcastle Brown Ale for Jesus.

This the bartender does, Jesus accepts the drink and smiles.

Then the Australian calls out, "Oi, you! g'day are you Jesus, or what?"

Jesus nods and says, "Yes, I am Jesus."

The Australian is mighty impressed and has the bartender send over a VB for Jesus, this he accepts with pleasure.

Later Jesus approaches the three men. He reaches for the hand of the Irishman andshakes it, thanking him for the Guinness. When he lets go, the Irishman gives a cry of Oh my God, the arthritis is gone," he says. "The arthritis I've had for years is gone. It's a miracle!"

Jesus then shakes the hand of the Englishman, thanking him for the Newcastle Brown Ale. The Englishman's eyes widen in shock. By Jove", he exclaims, "The blood pressure I've had for years is gone. It's a Miracle!"

Jesus then approaches the Australian, who has a terrified look on his face.

The Aussie whispers."Piss off mate, I'm on Workers Comp!"

apologies to any offended Aussies .

Geordie’s parrot would not stop swearing and one day in a fit of temper he put it in the freezer and told it that it was not getting out until it stopped using foul language. When the swearing eventually stopped, Geordie opened the freezer and the parrot said, “Alreet man, a’l stop swearing, but a have one question, … what did the turkey do?”

Haha nice one.......I see people out there climbing mountains and zip lining....and here I am congratulating myself for getting my leg in my underwear first time without falling over.

I loved it, Carol 😃 We are doing okay. Hanging in there.
I hope you and yours are doing well. Is your son still in Australia, if I remember correctly?
Yes Madhu,Scott is still in Aus unfortunately. He hasn't been to visit for almost 3yrs due to the pandemic.Australia is far more strict than the UK, But I expect there are many people worldwide missing their families and if that's how it has to be then we'll just have to get on with it.

Seriously, I don't know exactly when that UFO landed and dumped all these stupid people (politicians included),but apparently they aren't coming back for them.....
