Yeah, they can look really nice if you are creative minded and can write well and poems. I happen to be able to. One of my best skills or talents I guess. Was never a genious at history or math, just writing and art and calligraphy.

My son is a natural born mechanic and can put anything back together after tearing it down and fixing it. He was a car mechanic for years and still does help people, but wants to start his own small engine repair. I hope he can someday because he is amazing! Not kidding at all! He took after his father.

Sorry had to go to oven get pies out and put the tuna pie in.

Hubs came home and he didnt even think the kitchen was that much of a mess:ylol:

im a diesel mechanic, but went into auto electronics a few years back, repairing car computors etc.

Men dont notice things like that as long as they smell something good cooking! They could care less about the mess! Right Trev?

Wow! My son can usually figure out what is wrong even when it is computer related because he worked in a shop for 12 yrs. or better. He is so smart mechanically, but can't spell for anything!!!

I love scallops cooked in butter with fresh garlic cloves cut up in and simmered to perfection. Lobster tail is my fave and crab claws too!!!

I'm hungry now - all this talk on food and the pies smelling good on the rack - just one more to go

My hubs does too. He loves his cakes too. I make him one every two or three days!!! He eats it all in 2 days usually. But i use the yellow mix that has much less oil in it. As if that matters though with all the sugar!!!:sign0085::yfrown:

Me too, but I cheat sometimes! I have to go Trev1 Nice chatting with you and Kirsty too! Enjoy your Friday!:thumleft:Nighty night!

:ghug:I would just like to let everyone know how much i appreciate you all. Next to my hubby n girls, i consider you my family.

:thumright: My pies were yummy. Hubs just packed them in to the freezer for me. :thumright:

I'll do gardening in between rain showers and tidy the house.

I did some gardening yesterday. I think it was pictures of your house and gardens that inspired me. It felt good to be out in the cool crisp air. There is nothing like the smell of the earth, either.

Would you mind sending the recipe for your cranberry pie? Sounds so yummy.

By the way, there used to bee a billboard around here for a local, nice restaurant that said "never trust a skinny chef."

I'm falling back asleep. See you tomorrow.
xo

For the cranberry pies - I made my shortcrust pastry with cold butter and iced water. I use the food mixer and then bring in together on a floured board and put in the fridge for at least 30 mins.

FOr the filling I make a white sauce melted butter then add 1 tablespoon flour heat through for a minute then start adding the milk and make a thick white sauce. I season with salt and black pepper and then add a cup grated cheese. Next I add the cranberries about 3/4 cup and I just used smoked chicken in a tin. To be honest I only had small tins of chicken so I used 1 smoked and 2 chicken in spring water. I let that cool, rolled out the pastry in to my pie dishes fill and do a lid. Wet the pastry on the rim so the lid sticks and put a whole in to vent. Then I cook for 20mins . I also have different size crimping tools and so I made some small pastie pies as well.

Hi all. It's 12-30pm here and it looks like your all in bed.Hope you sleeping well and wake rested and ready for the day.Not much going on here, just having a lazy afternoon and probably week-end too.Feeling a bit hungry.Got hubbys meal prepared but don't know what I fancy. One of Kirstys pies would go down a treat.I cook a wide range of meals for hby.but I don't like what he likes and tend to be lazy with my own meals. That's why I make sure I juice veggies every day and start off with wheatgrass and porridge,so at least I'm getting some nutrition.Well, looks like I'm talking to my-self again,so taking the win as I'm the only one here.

waiting for his afternoon walk.If you pm me your email add.I will send you some jokes.Am sending them to Sandy and Teresa.

Long. But all home safely. Thank you. Sorry, had to sneak in a shower. With all girls, hard to catch a break. :shifty-t:

We had 5 girls in my family. Four of us were a yr or less apart! My poor parents!!! Then they managed one boy between the last two girls. Lost one sister, my older and oldest in 2002 to a drug overdose. Saddest day of my life.
I miss her sooo much. I still talk to her though! She is with me still.

Right back atcha pretty Angel!!! Hope you slept well last nite! I did except for a few nightmares towards morning. I think my nightime meds cause them. I talk in my sleep alot my hubs says. Usually really bizarre things!!! I really must go make coffee. My hubs will get up and steal the computer shortly. Just a warning. He goes on his photography forum like I go on this one! We're both forum addicts!!!:lol2:

Don't count on it, you have to be really mean! HAHA!

It is actually quite simple to get on the A team - if you meet any one of the three 'rules' below:

You have to be a man
You have to be sensible
If you cannot meet the above two then agreeing with me will get you in

I think it would be great - a real spectacle. So as long as my son can make it - and it is not on a midnight (for the US audience) - I will try to get tickets - exciting!!!!

Angel - there is already an A team - you are very welcome to set up a B team though.

I already have. We should have some sort of competitions. Like a question game where we get to ask you a knowledge question (NO sports though) and then you get to ask us one. We keep score.:thumleft:

No offense to anyone, but i finally did it! Got my crohns tatoo yesterday. Soon as i figure out how to get pics on this tablet to forum, I'll post one. :)

How high would you have to count before you would use the letter "A" in the English language spelling of a whole number? For example, one, two, three, etc do not have the letter A.

were the first people to create pizza> No looking it up online. You must be honest on this game. It is only fair!!!

No I would never look up the answers online - I used to enjoy pub quizzes years ago - but they are not popular now as too many people cheated.

Who invented pizza? - absolutely no idea, but I would be fairly certain they came from Italy.

Well I just looked it up and it was the Greeks. So no score there for us. So it's still 1-0 Girls and Trev.if he wants to be on our team...

Just baked hubs banan bread with blueberries and walnuts in it too, so I win!
How's that sound Kirsty? My chef...girl!:thumleft:
