I fell good,diddlediddlediddle dee.Started the day with wheatgrass pineapple juice (shop s) and a banana and vits,walked Alfie,briskly,did the laundry and vac'd then had fresh juice,carrots cucumber celery garlic and a bit of cayenne pepper. Now I'm not gonna bore you every day with my itinary,but come ooon,I deserve a WIN.
 
Huh - This is no time to be in a good mood - I am determined to by a right misery until crowned the winner.

By the way us Southerners didn't get any rain yesterday - it's grim up North!
 
Okay, time to get up and face the day. It is 6:30 am, I haven't slept at all, (probably because I took my "wake up" pill to late yesterday, worried about the foster agency, and because I am in a virtual argument with somebody on another forum.) But I DO know how to work and play well with others.

Oh, and we still have huge wildfires. But not as big or devastating as Colorado.

Although quite close to the river Tyne we are high up,so no worries there But the street was flooded when the drains overflowed and we had to move the car for a while.Nothing to moan about,but a wee bit scarey.:sign0085:So I WIN for my stiff upper lip

Oh, let me tell you, it's grim in the midwest here. We are in what is termed an "abnormal drought", but by the end of next week, with the heatwave we are in, it should be changed to "severe drought".

:dance:a win on this cool but sunny morning... on the edge of the world at the bottom end...........( the pun is unintentional )...yeah baby a win:dance::dance:........................What an interesting lot we are .....fires in Utah....comings and goings in the UK....aussies from across the ditch........fellow kiwis......someone in Florida who thinks we are all fast crappers....perhaps the english man who invented the toilet knew something about the bowel movements of CD/UC types and was simply been helpful when that great urge comes.......afterall its much better that a squat loo on a fast moving train somewhere in China.......I'm off the topic....a win a win simply a win:dance:

Well it is actually quite a serious subject

The ones I have at present are sheepskin and have gone a bit rancid

I don't want grandad slippers

Nothing too flippant

Something to impress the ladies

I'm wearing sheepskin slippers, but they are dime a dozen over here, ta for win
 
Far better dump them and go barefoot.healthier and far more likely to" impress the ladies"with pink nail polish on your tootsies.Clean and well manicured of course. And I WIN for the advice
 
I was totally serious, baking soda is good at removing odors. My tip is that with your new slippers that you shake some in them regularly.

Alternatively buy Grannies Remedies - which is basically baking soda - just an expensive form. Maybe you should treat for feet to a foot spa. I have seen that England does have the fish bars - you could go there and let some fish nibble the skin off your feet....people seem to pay good money for that

Hey, Robert, I know it's a strain on your brain (to think), but don't try too much, you need all those brain cells you can keep.

Morning all! While Robert buys slippers, I can't believe I'm going to do this without Aura here, I'm going to be cooking various and sundry dishes to go with meals for the next couple of days.
 
Thanks Sandy, and Robert I didn't tell you to cook them - only shake baking soda through them. I did well to wake up in the middle of the night to give you some advice, but then you always need help, don't you?

What do you mean? Football is hardly ever on television - it's all chick flicks and Wimbledon - lets have more 'man tv'
 
I agree.I don't watch chic flicks or rom coms.Love a good Western or action adventure.Watch Wheeler Dealers,Ninja warriors and Dog The Bounty Hunter but sport.....no thank you.Thank goodness my husband is well trained and I have full control of the remote. (or else)

Did you know a lot of Westerns are/were made here in good ol' Utah? (the spaghetti westerns, of course, were not.) And "Dog" (boy, is he ugly), has made his last episode? You Brits sure follow a lot of US television, or knock-offs of US TV. And the guy who invented the TV, Farnsworth, did so right here in Utah.

Now, I have to get back to arguing with the cyber bully on the thread I started on my depression forum called "Last One Wins." I won't be scared away, and the only currently active moderator on that forum, tells me that I'm right. She rarely posts, one to two a year, but she started playing the game.

Yippee! I'm going to win on two forums.

I grew up in the 60's watching great American television - Westerns of course, Bewitched, Star Trek and so many others. I still think you have some great programs and many of my favourites - but when I am in the States I struggle to find enough quality to watch. Which is the best Channel ?

Point of order - television was invented by John Logie Baird - I believe Farnsworth produced the first commercial version (I think).

I want to visit Utah now - if it was the backdrop to my childhood memories.

Morning all - for once I had a great sleep! Unless Honeysuckle is another name for something that smells icky and you put your feet in it, I wouldn't worry about the baking soda. Just a good bit of compost should see you fine - not in your shoes - in your garden for the Honeysuckle! :rosette1:
 
I have to admit, Robert, most of the best television was in the 60's, when I grew up too. I guess we're both old. Bewitched, I dream of Jeanie, Gilligan's Island, Star Trec, etc., the shows of our era. What is on now is trash. Of course, they have come a very long way in their acting and even plots, but that was fun television. And oh, the Westerns. The "Duke," shot a lot here. Plus a lot of others. More here than Hollywood, by far. Prefect backdrop. Google "Canyonlands" and you might recognize some of it. (that is where we went, partially, on a recent vacation, but it is huge. You could spend days, weeks or even months there.)

Back to television. There is a lot of controversy about who actually invented it, but with all I have seen, heard, or read, I will stand by Farnworth.

If you want the old shows (like those mentioned above), go to the cable station "TV Land." But even that one is getting messed up. SometimeA "The History Channel" has something worthwhile, but usually not. Everybody has cable, a hundred channels plus likely, and there is nothing good on.

And Scottsma, have you ever known me to be calm? I think I've now got that other forum well divided. Yesterday, it was about half and half. Today about 1/3 on "her" side, about 2/3 on mine. I keep trying to say "truce" but she says that as we are not at war, there is no need for a truce. I wonder when both of us are going to get kicked of this depression forum. That would be so depressing.
 
Hi Sandy, I made some yummy orange muffins yesterday. Hubby has taken them to his workmates, and yes he is away all week and comes back Friday avo. So its just me and my wins...
 
A cable channel showing just the best shows / films from the 1960's would get my vote - and yes it is an age thing (I'm 53)

We had some great shows here in the 60's as well:

I remember The Avengers, and they still play re-runs of Dr. Who somewhere. I used to watch that with my sister sometimes, when we wanted a good laugh at something corny, but since she passed away (sixteen or seventeen years ago from cancer), it just isn't the same. The other two shows I don't know.

I'm 51 going on 12. I refuse to grow up, but I absolutely refuse to be a teenager again. My refusing to grow up might have something to do with marrying a younger man, but I gave him most of his grey hair.

Aura, I absolutely LOVE orange muffins. I'm sorry your hubby is going to be gone away for a while, too.
 
I could feel that coming, from the time I first mentioned my age. I just love to set myself up.
