Do any of you deal with extreme night time irritability as well as insomnia? Im trying to get back to work and not being able to sleep @ night and the irritability are 2 strikes against me that I cant afford to start off with!

I usually....no matter how much activity/exercise, can not get to sleep until 3:30-4:30! It s miserable and I need help and advice?

are you on prednisone? what you describe sounds exactly like me when i was on higher doses of prednisone!

That's just what I was going to ask. If you are taking Prednisone, sleeplessness is definitely a side effect. It could also be that your seratonin levels are out of whack. People with depression, chronic illness, or both often have lower levels of seratonin which causes problems with sleep. I started having problems with anxiety attacks a couple of years before I was diagnosed with CD. It makes sense now because I was enduring a lot of pain at the time. My doctor suggested that I try Zoloft. That work wonders for me. It cut out the panic attacks (which were progressively getting more frequent and worse) and my normal sleep pattern returned. I'm still on Zoloft, and do not panic anymore. The only thing that keeps me awake is one of my babies.

No pred @ all! Ive always had some sleep problems growing up but never like this! In the beginning of my diagnoses I took pred for maybe 2 months but that was over a year ago! Only med I am on is remicade!
