I always pass mucus/ tissue when I have a BM. It is not mixed in with the poop, Its separate. I recently had a colonoscope and I am in remission, but I was diagnosed with a severe fissure. Could it be from this?? I have mentioned it to my Dr. But he never really said much. I have had this for a long time, I pretty much don't know any different, but would like to know what it's from. Anyone else have this??

Does it hurt? I have a fissure and before surgery there was lots of blood, but not tissue. When i have mucus, I can usually tell it's from Woman Land. Sorry for ya

Well the fissure hurts extremely bad, but passing the tissue doesn't. Hard to explain. I will usually, but not always pass very little stool for a couple of days or so, always has tissue/ mucus in it, then when I do have a big BM, that's when the fissure really hurts, during and after. Guess I will also mention that to the Dr. This Thursday when I go to see about getting the fissure treated.

Hey Starlight,

If you mean by tissue something white like kleenex, then yes. I am glad you said something as I asked this question awhile ago and nobody seemed to have this.) I didnt have blood, just white stuff. When I told my GP, she asked if it was mixed in or separate. I didnt want to get graphic as I am still easily embarrassed but it was just on top and how would I know if it was mixed in?? I only see the outside. It was indented in. She didnt say much b/c I didnt really answer but she did a stool test. I didnt hear anything so I suppose its not a parasite or worms or anything.
As far as I know, I dont have any fissures only strictures. Passing the tissue doesnt hurt. Sorry I couldnt be of any help but if its the same thing, someone else has it :)

Keona...I completely understand how Its embarrassing to talk about. Lord, I feel really awkward and embarrassed to talk about it on here, much less directly to my doctor! the tissue I pass is not always white, sometimes its red or yellowish to orangish or white. Weird.:shifty-t:

It is weird. If you can figure out what it is please share the news :) Mine is mostly white but it can be pinkish or the yellowish-orangish. I am glad someone shared their experience on here... thought I might have been losing it. If I find out I will let yo know :)

(P.S: I find it so much easier to ask questions behind a computer screen or PM than directly to my docs)....
