Need advice about a fistula

Hi,

Asking for help and advice once again. Currently have a seton that has been in place for 3 months. From day one the tract has been contaminted with feces. I am fighting with keeping it clean and flowing. It keeps backing up and forming an abcess in the fistula tract. The pain is always there and i take 3 to 4 sitz baths a day. The doctor keeps me on antibiotics and pain meds but this cycle is getting old. I know if they close the entry point the fistula will close on its own. Anybody have any experiences, ideas, thoughts, anything to give me some relief. I have had the abcess cleaned out once, and from the looks of it will have to have it cleaned again VERY soon. Has anyone ever had a mucosal flap procedure done? Or a LIFT procedure? thanks in advance for any feedback.

quite annoying i bet. dealt with the pain for a very long time.
found that baby wipes + hydrozole cream kept me sane and not in pain 24/7.
getting first op tomorrow for the surgery.
bascially doc is having a look to see how bad it is.....
hopfully cant remember tomorrow....
