:heart: Hello All,
I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's 3 weeks ago. I am a 21 year old female. I have not been put on any meds yet, I go back to the GI doctor Thursday. The pain over the past few days has almost been unbearable. My joints feel like I am 100 years old, fever on and off, constipation and diaherra. I have felt awful. The pain brings me to tears at times. I have taken tylenol every 4 hours and tried hot baths and heating pads, but no relief. I am just discouraged, and hope to be on meds soon, because i am literally miserable. I can barley move
any advice/ tips would be greatly appreacited

Hi Lindz and welcome to the forum. I am sorry that you are feelng so poorly at the moment, I am disappointed that your doc didn't give you something 3 weeks ago to help with symptoms whilst you waited for your appt Are you able to get in contact with anyone tomorrow at all about this - perhaps your GP? The only other thing I can suggest is to go a on a low fat/low fibre diet and try to keep to softer foods like mash and maybe soup. Have a good nosy around the forum between now and Thursday and write down any questions you have so you can go through everything with the doc at the appt - take your time here and do not be rushed!

I will call tomorrow! I have gotten worse since I posted earlier, now vomiting bile, just trying to stay hydrated

Hi Lindz,

Welcome to the forum.

If you have unbearable pain, are running a fever, and now vomiting, I would consider heading to the ER, especially if you have good insurance.

I totally feel your pain. I to was diagnosed a short while ago with Chrohns. I was put on Lialda a week and a 1/2 ago and im having severe joint pain. Can hardly walk and non stop diarreah. I thought this was due to the meds but you havent started the meds yet so now i am very confused???

I decided not to go er, because I was there 3 weeks ago, and got at CT and that is when they discovered that my terminal ileum was inflammed and u was referred to a gi and had a colonoscopy the following Tuesday. They took 8 biopsys and said it was crohns and I have an appointment thursday evening to start talking about meds. I don't feel great today , joint pain is intens, still nauseous and unwell. I am going to call my gi when they open to see if they can take me sooner. My nails are brittle, my hair is dry, I feel malnourished.

So sorry you're feeling so rough I was in the same position as you before I got any treatment Like you I was in devere pain and couldn't even keep water down, Eventually my patner decided enough was enough and took me to an ED 2 HOURS after WE arrived I was having emergency surgery so don't suffer any more than you have to, go to an ER, do some research on line and check if there is a Gastro specialist in the area/ ER you plan to visit.
