Pain meds/lialda

Hey

Doctor has given me lortab 7.5/500 and has me on lialda. I have a couple of issues with the lortab, first being it gives me bad anxiety for some reason. Second is that when I need it, it takes 45 minutes to get any relief. The relief I do get still isn't really helping very much, and lastly I can't take a narcotic in the middle of a typical workday. I also feel like the lialda makes me flare or have similar symptoms. Any recommendations on meds that will DEAL with the pain, or a sleep aid that will keep pain from keeping me up? Best way to deal with pain during times I need to be coherent? And what's the best antiinflamitory that people have had success with w/o many side effects?

if you are still having problems with your medication, your best bet would be to call your GI and get in to see him right away. Don't wait until the next appointment. Explain to him what you just said here and how you can't function during the day while taking a narcotic.

A good GI will listen and get another game plan in action so you can function during the work day. As a patient, you have that right to be made comfortable while flaring until the IBD medication gets your flare under control.
